The class-action lawyers in San Francisco are now asking Judge Corley to require #Microsoft to hold #ActivisionBlizzard separate after closing the deal:
"Microsoft shall maintain Activision as a separate subsidiary and [the Court shall] preclude Microsoft from merging or eliminating any of Activision’s business units or gaming studios with Microsoft until resolution of Plaintiffs’ claims on the merits"
So, to be clear, this has no potential to delay the closing of the deal. It's about what will happen thereafter.
While Microsoft will hold ABK separate, those plaintiffs are simply not entitled to that kind of emergency relief. They were denied a preliminary injunction against the merger, and now they're seeking a different type of injunctive relief.
The motion shows that those plaintiffs are also expecting the deal to close shortly now.
While the motion claims that this is about gamers, it's just about lawyers seeking leverage over Microsoft so they could extract a settlement.
