Media Create Sales: Week 11, 2017 (Mar 13 - Mar 19)

So Inazuma Eleven Ares on either Switch/PS4 or both? Time to have another page long discussion on the probability of the outcomes and what Level 5 should really do if they want to not become the next Capcom!

Ahh that must be it, I knew it was one of the PS3 ones.

Level 5 must be looking at Fifa numbers so a PS4 version makes sense.;)

That's sales per release but it's overestimating Tales quite a bit. Only a handful of games have hit a million.

Berseria likely won't and I doubt the next one will either.

I thought you all were talking about series to date sales, my bad.

When was the last time Tales even hit a million?

Worldwide? Xillia did in 2013.

And it's possible Zestiria did as well. It did 350k so far on Steam alone, not sure about in Japan and western console sales.

What I'm wondering is how Inazuma Eleven is supposed to be played without a dual screen.

A mix of Inazuma Eleven on Wii + PES for tactical positioning and assisting through the JoyCons / touch screen if it's on Switch?

Thought the series made its way to the wii?

Strikers on Wii was a completely different game. It's more of a party/football game than a proper RPG/Tactical like the mainline games.

A mix of Inazuma Eleven on Wii + PES for tactical positioning and assisting through the JoyCons / touch screen if it's on Switch?

Never played PES so I can't say how it works.

With Switch many in here (and not only SDF and the usual suspects) proved to live in their own bubble. When you are unable to predict short-term sales better wait a little time to see where sales will head and how they'll impact third party support. Posting a lot doesn't offer anything in a sales thread when all you do is repeat the same.

UNS4 was the last Ultimate Ninja Storm game.....not the last Naruto game. I'm hoping they go with DBX route. Boruto series won't be any near as popular as Naruto.

RE7 shipped 3 million in a bit over a month and is on track to meet the 4 million shipment by March. Thats on par with RE6, the best selling RE title at this point.

People always talk about SFV as if it was some massive project that was going to make or break Capcom. It never was. At least the game is a hit with the FGC.

I support Capcom now since I feel there is quality there.
I doubt we'll get another big Naruto game now that Boruto is the focus in terms of both anime and manga.

Really curious about sales for that one. Adventure game on 3DS is certainly an interesting proposition.

@Bruno MB: just a small suggestion, but I think you should include Cube Creator DX in the prediction league. This Minecraft clone sold pretty well on the Nintendo eShop, and I think the retail release (with additional content) could surprise us with its sales. Though with only 3 days of sales, not sure how it's going to do. I can see it have legs, at least.

Cube Creator 3D has been downloaded over 370,000 times on the Japanese 3DS eShop. Be interesting to see how DX performs at retail.
To compare it with Minecraft we can only use the faulty Famitsu estimates, but this'd mean that Cube Creator has sold on par with the PS3 & PSV versions of Minecraft.

Ya, okay.

I won one match and lost the second one. I honestly thought we were going to win the second one but we lost by .1% because NO ONE ON MY TEAM was covering the ground and they were camping the enemies instead, at the end I was the only one running around covering empty spots and if they just helped ONE bit we would have won. Lol.

All Japanese players here too. It's like 5am in Japan now, wtf!

I thought I was talking to myself until you chimed in;-) It really is one of the biggest successes of this generation. I guess break even with DX is minimal so even if it sells just 50,000 it will equal big money.

Yeah, was "watching" (more like listening) to the Treehouse Live livestream, and quite a lot of Japanese players too (at least, when I looked).

Wonder how the upcoming play sessions will go (though with better time for JP players). Certainly bodes well for Splatoon 2 this Summer.

360k in Japan on PS3 and >40k for the late rerelease PS4 budget port.
181k as of December 2015 for western console sales.

Everything combined LTD today must be slightly below 1M worldwide

Speaking of Cube Creator 3D DX, I'm surprised that this wasn't a Switch cross-gen title when ASW brought over Othello and New Frontier Days to it at launch, both being ports/remakes of earlier eShop games. You'd think with the original on 3DS doing as well as it did, they would take advantage of having the Minecraft market all to themselves, and at retail since it is so on 3DS this time.

Is it developed by ASW?

The download version was just localised by them. It's an indie game originally.

Yeah, I believe ASW took on this one themselves since it did so well on 3DS in Japan. Big John is only the IP holder (and supervisor maybe?). I could be wrong though.

Not to mention that the graphics don't even need to be enhanced, literally 1080p and 60fps (and of course draw-distance increase) and you're good really. It's a Minecraft clone. :p

It is being developed by ASW, yes. That version specifically.

Basically, they seem to have figured out just the base game at retail wouldn't really fly, so they went and developed plenty of extra content to justify the minimum price of a retail release.

Big John Games are working on something else at the moment, though I forgot what it was. They did mention they chose to go with a new 3DS game first, and it's not Cube Creator DX (it's something called Racer Creator).

And in a combo of both business success and personal pride, Nintendo invited Big John Games and its Japan region publishing partner, Arc System Works, to a meeting to discuss upcoming projects and partnerships. Big John Games may even have early access to Nintendo's upcoming home console, the clandestine Nintendo NX, which would allow the company to create a "Cube Creator" type of game for that platform, as well.

"In the meantime, Arc and us decided we would make another 3DS game while we wait for NX access," Patterson said.

I assume the idea of ASW developing the DX version and releasing it at retail came from that meeting with Nintendo, wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo themselves suggested it since they don't have Minecraft on 3DS.

I'll find the link to the interview and post it here.

Cool, I wasn't sure if they were just publishing with Big John Games developing again. Interesting development though...

Just looked at the MC weekly report and saw that they have a lower sell-through ratio than Dengeki despite lower sales? That's quite interesting.

MC: 848 467 (72.39%)
Dengeki: 994 665 (80%)

Quite the discrepancy this week. I wonder if we should be expecting a correction in the next few weeks, MC sales are visibly way too low.

[NSW] Nintendo Switch Hardware (35 days) - 280,000
[PS4 + PSV] Musou Stars (32 days) - 90.000
[3DS] Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia (11 days) - 240.000
[3DS] Dragon Ball Heroes: Ultimate Mission X (4 days) - 80.000
[NSW] Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (3 days) - 260.000

I won one match and lost the second one. I honestly thought we were going to win the second one but we lost by .1% because NO ONE ON MY TEAM was covering the ground and they were camping the enemies instead, at the end I was the only one running around covering empty spots and if they just helped ONE bit we would have won. Lol.

All Japanese players here too. It's like 5am in Japan now, wtf!

Actually, isn't in Singapore is also more or less 3 AM there.^^

Gamesmaya says Double Cross shows good sales after opening weekend.

Many retailers restocked Switch, we should see a sizable bump.

Also, since Monday was a national holiday, second week drop for MHXX might be lower than other games.
Still, 2 millions won't ever happen.

Other leggy games might increase this week as well.
Will Minecraft be back?

Or even...Splatoon?

With 1,2 initial shipment for Double Cross and less than 80% sell-through it will be be lucky to have an additional shipment bigger than 100-150k at second week.

Something like 1,4-1,5m will be the shipment for FY.

I don't even think it will get any additional shipment here. They will be lucky to sell all the initial shipment without the need to fall into Bomba Bin.

People got their hands on Switch and now it's having some kind of negative impact on MHXX sales. They are ready to move on and eagerly awaiting for MHXX HD.

The game is not going to meet Capcom's expectations but it's still selling really well. No lies.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Nothing new since I posted this:

Basically, all stores in Japan are supposed to recieve a new shipment this weekend. The number is still insufficient, but this time the number stores is bigger.
The past weeks just Bic Camera and a few more recieved shipments.

I noticed that gamewith.jp has yet to update since yesterday, so we have no new easily-accessible recent infos on how the stock is going, meh :p
