Sony just released PR saying they sold 75k the last week of the month. Unclear if it's NA or US, but regardless, that might hurt the GAF aggregate as well as obviously quite a few predictors.

Ahh, a stroll down memory lane, when Nintendo was in-between a rock and a hard place in just about every meaningful way. There are some exquisite, hilarious quotes to be found in said thread.

That's enough of the past, looking forward to 360 hardware numbers the most out of the bunch. Back to back 400k+ hardware months, before November/December #'s would be amazing to say the least.

IIRC, there's only four days of the price cut in the NPD period. Sales will definately be up over the 120k last month, so the GAF average am fail there. I'll be surprised if it's over ~175k though.

Steve Kent blasts Nintendo, 7 rules for fixing nintendo, Page 5

Hilarious quotation from that thread:

Forget Revolution. Nintendo's brand is worthless in the console market. Two flops in a row does that to you. Honestly, I think the Revolution is an exercise in futility. But whatever. They'll release it, it'll bomb in all three territories, and hopefully they devote some time to saving their last stronghold, the handheld market. Ironically, I think Revolution might end up being what kills them, not PSP. :lol Don't mind me, I've been firmly in the Nintendo is doomed camp since they dropped to $99 and still lost ground to the Xbox. Anyone thinking they have a chance in the console market is deluding themselves. PEACE.

I think you were deluding yourself, Pimpwerx.

NPD Release: November 15th @ 4:00 p.m. EST (thread posted around 6:30 p.m. EST)

From the OP amazingly
Sorry, I assumed that since the prediction were closing on Wednesday at 4pm, then the NPD results would surface an hour or two afterwards...

they switched to the day before because we would traditionally get some numbers from other sources (NPD Canada etc.) that made it easer to guess by extrapolation. Also I think that is when the wedbush forecasts came but I could be Wrong.

I thought we weren't getting hardware numbers anymore? What happened. Or does Gaf still love exercises in futility? :lol

NPD has since reversed that decision. Even if they didn't, I believe we'd still get numbers from sites that pay for them, like IGN, etc.

Here's something better.

Mainstream gamers have taken over the industry and they're driving it nowadays. Do you think that if real gamers were the majority, EA would be one of the best (if not the best) selling publishers? So I say screw the casual gamers and just publish quality stuff. It's the only positive thing about Nintendo's stubborness. They don't give a shit about them.

I can't wait for the numbers, NPD threads are the highlight of the month here. Especially since we came soooooo close to losing them :( but they're BACK! and without ever being gone!

And PS3 is back to old faithful, too. Just a heads up.

Well this should be fun. :lol

I'm interested in seeing how Ratchet, Orange Box, and GHIII performed on the software side. I'm also interested in VF5's sales, but I'm almost sure that it's a bomba.
