What's up with the throwing grenades aim in this...I set that orange mark on them and they sometime throw it way pass them or way too short...also,when you go in the decking area, since I chose a troll,I never got to use it but now all of a sudden I need that to open a door, and the guy is alone in there...ton of ennemies, limited inventory space,no refills on the way duting a long battle...some mechanics in this game are awful.

It's an RPG, and you'll notice that 'throwing accuracy' is a skill you have to increase.

and I think the decker hacking and the team needing to cover him against the enemy waves was actually deliberate. They encourage you to plan ahead.

edit: and for those of you who like the game, don't forget to check the Steam Workshop for addon fan-made campaigns. Some of them are pretty fun.

You need points in throwing skill to be accurate with grenades. Coyote is pretty good at it.

Hire a decker to do the decking for you.

If you're on Hard or Very Hard, consider ratcheting down to Normal. Very Hard especially is impossible for some builds.

And then the LORD David Bowie saith to his Son, Jonny Depp: 'Go, and spread my image amongst the cosmos. For every living thing is in anguish and only the LIGHT shall give them reprieve.'
Wow, SNES Shadowrun mod. I guess buying the iOS version is not a good idea if I want to play that.

Finally picked this up from gog today and put a couple hours into it.
I really like it. Yeah the UI sucks. Yeah it's really linear.
...but I'm loving every minute.

Lots to look forward to with the editor and user generated campaigns and all.

We need like a top 5 to check out or something.

Fuck this needing a decker to operate the elevator doors crap,it's like a bad escort mission,why?...what happens if I try one of the workshop games, even if I havent finished the main campaign(tried 3 times now this long ass section, only to have the decker die and needing to restart all over)...does it mess around with that...? will it affect my save from the main campaign.?

Is there a date for the save game patch?

I think its there already...I had no problem per say,it saved at every change of locations, except the fight I am in now, that has a save midway but the 2 sections are very long and my decker dies each time and you need him to open the elevators...I would have to restart the save before this section and get more resurrect things instead of useless grenades and the like, now that I know whats coming but that would set me back a good 2 hours...

Unless you guys mean a save anywhere feature.

They are talking about Save Anywhere.

Nope. Rest assured I'll post if I hear one.

It's coming with Dragonfall, which is the last week of January.

I would think that the patch would coincide with the DLC release which is or was supposed to come out late this month.

edit: Vyse had overwatch on my post and geeked me.

I'll update the OP with Dragonfall stuff when it releases, but I don't know much about it besides Berlin and Saeder-Krupp having a big role(presumably).

Closer than you think...

http://www.shadowrun.com/forums/discussion/37327/release-notes-beta-1-2-0

The Beta of Shadowrun Returns Version 1.2 is LIVE!!

It contains the new and improved save game functionality, including the ability to save in the middle of scenes, and a variety of fixes and improvements to the core game.

It will be publicly released alongside the Dragonfall campaign (but 1.2 does not require purchase of Dragonfall to use).

IMPORTANT! Read the Release Notes before joining the beta!!

I agree, but almost no one mentioned it in the GotY thread. I think maybe two other people besides myself listed it. It was my #3 behind Soul Hackers and SMTIV.

RPGs are slow burners with public opinion, maybe because they take several times longer to get into and to play through than most games. This always seemed true to me during the last golden age, when the infinity engine games were coming out in fairly quick succession. The classics often take a while to rise to the top.

On that note, gotta try this sometime soon!

GAF has terrible taste in games. It is known.

Eh, I disagree. The vast majority just have a huge preference in mainstream titles. Sad but true. There is a devout following of niche stuff here, though, and I always appreciate that.

Drakengard 3 and Deception IV have gotten a fair amount of attention here, they barely make a ripple anywhere else.

Wish they'd fix the damn Barrier conjuration bug. I've enjoyed the game, but going with a Shaman has been a little underwhelming and frustrating for a variety of reasons.

There's also the save patch some of us are waiting on. I had the game for awhile but don't care to start until that's out.
Eh, I disagree.
After MGS4 getting the GotY nod even with a years late revote I can see why some can be negative there though.

I don't get the uproar over that. It was a pretty great game. I wouldn't have voted for it as my GOTY had I played it then, but I can respect it.

It admittedly wasn't terrible, but it was a pretty bad story finale and that dragged the second half of the game's gameplay down with it too. At least ME3 was mostly good on the smaller scale story stuff and the gameplay stayed at a consistent level even if weaker I thought than 2.

I'd disagree pretty strongly. Other than the first 2 chapters, the gameplay felt forced and tired. Not to mention one of the worst narratives I've had the displeasure of experiencing. I mean, people shit on MGS2's story, but it has nothing on the nonsensical trolling BS that was apparent in MGS4.

I loved MGS2 and it remains my favorite, so I'm no stranger to crazy opinions.

MGS4 was flawed, but I enjoyed it.

So, Shadowrun!

Have you read the Great Dunkelzahn's Will?

Rejoice, on Tuesday 28th we'll have a trailer and release date of Shadowrun: Dragonfall

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to follow up on the Release Notes for the Steam Beta of Shadowrun Returns 1.2 that Jeff posted yesterday. He's put up some important instructions in the Release Notes if you're going to participate in the beta so please make sure to check them out.

Version 1.2 includes the ability to save your game at any time during a scene, as well as a variety of fixes and improvements to the core game. It will be publicly released alongside the Dragonfall campaign (but 1.2 does not require purchase of Dragonfall to use).

Keep in mind that this is a beta and reporting any issues you encounter with this form would be really helpful. http://bit.ly/LZqteB

And - stay tuned, because next Tuesday we'll be releasing a trailer, screenshots, and an official release date for Shadowrun: Dragonfall!

Thanks! Robin

:) can't wait!

Shadowrun: Dragonfall is going to release February 27th, according to the Kickstarter update that just went out.

It looks like Version 1.2 of Shadowrun Returns (in beta now) will release on the same day. This version includes the new and improved Save Game functionality, including the ability to save in the middle of scenes, and a variety of fixes and improvements to the core game.

I am on Steam right now and I dont see a pre-purchase or anything...

I will try and finish the main campaign before Dragonfall hits I guess...a new save feature wont help me at all where I am stuck at now though...I just need the courage to go back 2 hours and restart that section with better stuff in my inventory and I should be good.
