part of me hopes that MS is forcing them to have it launch in a better quality but then part of me is like Bethesda gon Bethesda.I wonder if we'll see a new level of polish from Bethesda

if the game launches in a buggy mess i dont think MS will be happy about it but who knows... it'll be interesting.
All of this just works.Ah, yes, the good old Bethesda polish, the gold standard of the gaming industry.
16 times the polish.
Ah, so you were one of the two people that thought Fallout 76 was "fine" when it released.Bethesda level polish is fine.
does anyone actually think this game will be as big as Obsidian or Skyrim? development time seems kinda short for a new IP.
Different studio IIRC. I also say Skyrim/Fallout 3+4 polish is fine for a game like this.Ah, so you were one of the two people that thought Fallout 76 was "fine" when it released.
Well thats why they have always 'got away' with the bugs in their games, becaue the games wre so good. Fallout 76 put a spanner in the works with that though.Bethesda might just be the only studio I forgive the bugs. No ones makes games like them.

Yep lol, memes, gifs, 'bugs', and Rivet smilies. The circle is complete.Just came for the "its not coming to Ps5 so Bethesda sucks" crowd and im not disappointed
With less SKUs to develop for, you would think so. Neither is this cross gen, nor is this gonna be developed for PS5.
But let's see.
cyberpunk also had 7 years of dev time...but was it 7 years of full team?Seven years of development is short?

If I'm not mistaken, FO76 was not developed by the main team, so looks like developing Starfield was their main focus for a bunch of years.cyberpunk also had 7 years of dev time...but was it 7 years of full team?

Exactly, so lack of dev time is certainly not an issue.FO76 was done by Bethesda Austin. Starfield is Rockville with support from Dallas.
Todd has said numerous times that he doesnt like showing his games off until the E3 before release. We are lucky really that we even got the teaser, we got nothing of Fallout 4 until E3 before release.Exactly, so lack of dev time is certainly not an issue.
I think we're only talking about it cause we haven't seen the game outside of the one trailer and concept stuff.
Bethesda seems to be keeping this one close to their chest before they inevitably do an E3 blow out this year.

There were strong rumours last year that the game was going to release last Fall, then rumours of early this year, then we got the official release date of Fall 2022.
I think Microsoft know they have a potential monster on their hands with Starfield, a real 'system seller', and they have given Bethesda the time to get it right.
