If fewer people are arrested for felony theft, then you have fewer people in jail/prisons, so they increased the felony threshold to $1000. Anything under that is a misdemeanor and a slap on the wrist, so cops don't even bother now.

What the fuck?!? 🤣

This has to be a joke, right?

No why do you think everyone is fleeing CA? My boss who works in SF came to visit me at my office and we went out to dinner. He was completely flabbergasted that I would park my car on a public street without a care in the world. He said in SF you would roll your windows down and push the seats forward so that the criminals can easily tell whether you have something worth stealing and hopefully they won't break your windows lmfao.

Good old San Francisco snow (shattered car window glass) lining the streets with shit and needles.

Now you know why you see videos of people ransacking stores in CA.

Crazy. To be fair, what's stopping people. If they're only going to get a slap on the wrist for stealing, then I can understand why people do it.

Wonder what's next for California. Slap on the wrist for murder?

There was a long period of time where stories about the natural consequences of stupid decisions made me really angry at how the normal people have to suffer because of ideological rational thinking handicaps. Now I see these stories as long form meme's of people trying to accomplish stupid feats and landing on their head or balls. RIP common sense, but thanks for the laughs on your way out the door.

I was saying a long time ago that memes were becoming reality. Probably where they get the ideas honestly.

Anyway, this is why keeping a record of serials is important. Whether packages are stolen or your house is robbed.

This is only going to become more frequent. Prices for courier service will rise as teams will need to hire security, or alternate forms of more secure transport are used.

Pro-tip: always get insurance on the parcel shipped.

That's pretty crazy.

Armed guards riding on trains incoming?

If I lolived in the area and was poor due to circumstances out if my control I'd be in there too. Fuck it.

Whenever I see packages getting stolen it just seems like a colossal waste. Probably 1 in 100 packages has anything approaching desirable for someone if they just pick at random.

as if inflation isn't bad enough we have this shit going on to add to price of goods. whether more need to be produced to offset the loss or higher overhead due to having more security.

I live in LA

I frequently get delayed package notifications, wonder how many are due to this

But yeah, package theft is rampant. I live near downtown, the gutters/sidewalks are often littered with open packages.

This just in! Murder, arson, and assault are now decriminalized.

1 month later.....

California Legislators: "Wow, looks like hardly anyone is in jail or prison!" Great Job gang!!"

The dipshits that advocates for less strict law enforcement and more lenient laws, forgets what once made the United States a first word country with low criminality place was precisely strict law enforcement and harsh laws.

I've had more packages lost in the last 3 months than i have since i started shopping online in the 2000s. My packages enter Toronto but rarely ever seem to leave it.

This is why the state is a lost cause as the people VOTED this bullshit right in. It's also why people in other states are justifiably pissed of Californians now deciding to up and leave the state that they're responsible for ruining, and move to Red states and then continue their horrid voting practices there, and thus making things turn to shit like CA.
And that just pisses me off more than anything… never a single thought in those rattling skulls of theirs.

At this point I almost want to say states just need to act like their own country, I mean damn they pretty much already are.
