Trends you dislike in modern game design?

Over-reliance on procedural generated levels.
The result is likely to be unpolished mid level design.

And game-play specifically built to micro-transact the crap out of you.

Both ingredients on the current blandness of the gaming landscape for me.

Reverse groomer.
oh yeah, also the complete and utter scrubbing of dedicated servers in modern multiplayer games especially console games.
you HAVE to deal with crappy matchmaking which is a shame and why im not big on the super modern multiplayer stuff (games past 2017 i just cannot give a shite about)

As a Socom Player I still don't know why all the developers added a sprint button.

You could just push the stick in the direction and If you push It harder you start running.

SBMM
DLC (an addon/expansion is fine. but superfluous cosmetics and stuff take me out of the experience)
Lack of server browser based FPS
no more old fashioned Sand box MMOs like EverQuest
Live service games that remind me of stepping into a casino (Fortnite etc.)
Not having friends to play coop games with. not a game design issue :(

Leave the lobbies alone. In COD now the lobbies change quickly at the end of a match. Fuck that. I like to hear the hate and crying. Rat snitchass weakling these days

Pretty much given up on big budget titles since they are too generic and too far gone. Dont really care anymore what they do with their designs. I will just stick with indie and retro games.

I could write quite a bit on this one, but I'll keep it brief.

I'm tired of the monetization. I'm tired of seeing a new game on the horizon, and knowing I will NEVER buy it new because I know I am not getting the complete experience. There will be DLC. Don't/won't know how much. So I have to wait till there is some GOTY edition years later. And that just doesn't feel great.
