Okay, not true about warriors because mortal strike now affects Drain Life.

SO AWESOME.

Yeah a few realms do need to get merged. Slapping on a Recommended status on the server means nothing in the long run. The server that my Shaman was on is slowly dying, from becoming one of the biggest PVP servers and 1:1 ratio with Horde vs Alliance.. then most of the old players quitting or transferring off a few months after Burning Crusade.

It's a snowball effect; if a server's PvE is scewed to the lowest tier (working on Tier 4), and the mover(s) and shaker(s) leave, it causes those who outgrow their tier 4 guilds to leave, unless guild structure and friendship is very cohesive. "Talent" as it were keeps evaporating, and guilds erode or transfer off as no one with wanderlust wants to be on a server that doesn't even have a Vashj killing guild, or guilds are very desparate for quality Pally/Mage/whatever have NO ONE to recruit and NO ONE would want to Xfer.

Even Bloodscalp is feeling a bit of this, despite a solid amount of in and out Xfers. We've had many of the greats of PvP on both factions high-tail it to the top two battlegroup servers.

Dwarf priests are losing Fear Ward? (Or more accurately, everyone is getting it)

Mace spec is getting nerfed? :( I won't even have my Deep Thunder by the next patch, probably.....so much for being a stunlock warrior.

Booyah.

Thank heaven the damage tax is dead - the big reason I'm glad about this is because I don't have to hear the complaining about it from the other mages in my guild.

The hunter Arcane shot mini-purge sounds neat.
Look out Shazzrah, the hunters are coming!

Me, I've gotta save up my ore and gems for an engineering flying mount.

# Those who completed the [Tempest Keep] attunement process will have access to the title "Champion of the Naaru". Also, the plan is to hard-cap it at 70, meaning you can't go back at 80 and "cheese" the title. (Eyonix)

What a crappy-ass reward....at least give us an item or a buff or something.

if shadowstep can be used to get rid of traps and snares like improved sprint, then it's almost decent, but 40 sec cd is ridiculous and still places it firmly in the category of "not worth it"

fleet footed buff is pretty cool though

I couldn't find a blue post that confirmed the 2,000g cost for the CX flying mount; only that it was a Hippogrif that flew at the normal 280 speed. Nothing about the cost.

Not really. Subtlety sucks for anything else than 2v2 and duels. Blind is so broken with the reagent cost (can't even buy it from vendors), the cooldown and how easily people can break or remove it.

Deadly Throw is really getting nerfed, the small buff is just there to not make it look so bad. The great thing about Deadly Throw is that like all other finishers, it can generate another combo point on your target when used. This way you can throw Deadly Throws at your target until your luck runs out. They will make Deadly Throw the only finisher that can't generate combo points.

I seriously hope they up rogues damage. The best thing about rogues in the beginning of world of warcraft was stealth, but is it totally useless now. All we have is our damage, and that is pretty much nearly matched in pve, and totally demolished in pvp.

Yes dispel gets rid of only beneficial magic effects.. just think of it as your dispel magic/purge button but with a cooldown and longer distance use. Hunters will now be a full-on force against casters - everyone is going to hate Arcane Shot and will call for a nerf but I think it's what Hunters need.

Just checked the WoW official Shaman forum to see what they thought of this and it was probably a wrong decision. Already we've got wankers crying over the "stealth nerf" due to quicker casting times of Lightning Bolt and how they are being forced to go deep into Elemental to get Lightning Overload to compensate for DPS changes. The mathematics was brought out showing this all and all I could do was :lol

Yes Nature's Swiftness in Resto is nice for a survivability and burst damage factor, but these guys need to get a grip. If you do get into a raid group the raid leader is going to want an Elemental Shaman with Totem of Wrath (which you need Lightning Overload to get it), not Nature's Swiftness.

not like you still couldn't go 40/0/21 if you want to pvp.

man, I'm really tempted to resubscribe when 2.3 drops. I kind of hope it takes forever though, cause I really can't afford it right now. I may even level up a new shaman... just hoping they put some kind of anti-pushback talent into elemental, as I'd want to level with that spec even if it sucks for grinding. Though I guess if they made enhance good enough to grind using shocks, I could tolerate that.

Why do I always get burned out around level 30? I don't get it. No matter what the class I play and enjoy, I hit 30 or 32 or something and I'm wiped.

Any suggesitons on how to break this? Currently happening on my Rogue and Mage. =/

Wait until the XP buff to 20-60 range kicks in with 2.3.

Also, Lady Vashj has deployed an "Anti-Concentration Aura" which has bumfucked our ability to one shot many bosses in SSC so we can get 2 full days of Vashj practice action. Combination of anxiety + distractions + fear of failing = well, failing. Sucks.

I have several characters at 30. Tried to get a Priest up but the furthest I got with him was 36.. I think the only thing that kept me sane during my Shaman lvl 30-40 days was instancing with the guild a lot, and causing havoc in STV at times.

Other than that I think it's more got to do with the insane leveling brickwall that happens during that time.

the easiest way to beat this is to have some people to consistently level with

that level range is a bitch and i always top out @ lvl 42-43.

my highest level char is a lvl 43 shaman troll, then i have a 42 undead war, a 42 sham dran, and now because i hit the level cap i'm working on a lvl 19 gnome lock.

Pretty much.

Leveling my Priest to 70 I didn't do a single quest alone. Majority of the xp was in instances, but I did grind with a Mage which was fun.

40-50 is the easiest imo. Tanaris quests then you can get away with going to ZF till you're 50.

Yeah, I decided to drop inot the mage forum after swearing off it for a while, and although the response was fairly positive, there were still plenty of people crying about no real "fixes".
Boo hoo.

Elemental shaman changes sound neat, although I'm probably going to stick with enhancement as I've already got 2 spellcasting 70s. I may need to finally spec out of Nature's Swiftness, it wasn't doing me a world of good lately anyway.

I'm now curious to see how the warlocks are reacting - they got little to no changes. Although with my experience with a lvl 70 lock they're still pretty damned good as they are.

It seems Locks are back to free HKs for Hunters/Rogues/Warriors.

My mage is 70 now, so I started a Dranei shaman, and the Blood Elf leveling area and progression is 100x better. You can really tell how rushed they were with the second race after Pandarens got smashed by China.

I know this patch is at least a month away, which really sucks.

I agree about how leveling gets boring from 30-50. Frankly, being Horde, I get bored at 20.

I love Silverpine and Ghostlands, then do Ashenvale, Tarren Mill and Hammerfall, but most of my guildies do The Barrens again. Then Stonetalon. Eventually you'll do Desolace, Badlands, Searing Gorge. I'm not sure why they always do the most boring areas, desolate places.

I don't have a problem with this, but they always ask for my help. :lol

following that horde leveling guide helped me a bit with my rogue. It was just a mix of tf2 and running out of time on my account that kind of delayed me. Now I'll just come back whenever they bring out 2.3 though. I'm either gonna play my rogue again or I'll level up one of my other alts that I've dropped in the late 20s/all the way up to mid 40s. like my shadow priest, mage, or warrior.

The pally buffs are huge, although I still wish they would add in some kind of buff that specifically requires/demands a pally to melee in order to help everyone else out, like unleashed rage for enhance shamans. And the whole 1/3 healing into spell damage means I may actually be ok playing a 40/0/21 build on my pally and doing heroics and 10 man raids and stuff. I know other people haven't had that problem of crappy damage gear, but I don't raid and I try to stick to plate. But in my healing setup I'd have over 300 damage already, and I could swap out some of my tank stuff to go up to 400ish probably. And then if I ever actually got into healing stuff I could still do enough damage to solo as holy spec.

Or they'll just make ret spec into the awesome group buffer that enhance is, and then I can stick with that.

I don't know, I enjoyed the Draenei area on Azuremyst Island yet it was more Bloodmyst Island that was a pain in the arse at times.

actually, if you can get a summon to thrallmar (or honor hold if you're the bad guys) you can get the master rank. It only requires level 50.

I just don't understand how:

a.) people who have claimed to have been paladins since release can ask for buffs for paladin retribution to increase their dps when they should've known all along that ANY OTHER CLASS IN THE GAME can offer better dps in either pvp or pve. Want to dps? How about rerolling?
b.) Blizzard can cater to this small, small, small population. How many retardadins can there be? Seriously.

Sorry, I just don't have any sympathy for people who want to do dps as a paladin. I'm just gonna 'lol' in their face when even after these changes they won't come close to anyone who can dps well.

That and I'm just bitter that the developers thought that rogue mobility meant increasing the % gained to our one Assassination talent by 7% and then by giving Shadowstep nub rogues the ability to use it outside of stealth but increasing the cooldown to 40 seconds. Absolutely ridiculous.

It sounded like ret was supposed to be a viable alternative for pallies just like enhance for shamans after TBC. instead, ret was a shitty tree that barely served to make grinding faster (and not by that much).

Also, only like 2% of the game's population wants to heal, and outside of the insane gear requirements for a pally tank, that's what 98% of paladins do at level 70, because it's the easiest/best role with the most gear available for it.

I mean, god forbid they do something besides buff warriors/rogues/hunters when other classes have issues, too.

It's mostly cuz Blizz has had the philosophy to have every tree viable; after catching up from the forced early release, they've been knocking off lame/broken/sad trees and revamping them better.

Also, Ret has to have a reason to be in Raids. All other offspecs for both DPS and Healers have uses and are a valid use of a slot. Odd, really, back in the day Retadins were the ONLY great off spec worthy of a MC spot for BoW and stuff. Heh.

Sithro, level 31 Human Warlock on Thunderlord if anyone wants to /w me. :D

Anyway, of all the MMOs I've played, WoW is the only one where Paladins act as pure healers. God, it was so weird hearing that for the first time. :lol

Too much awesome stuff coming up in 2.3 for me to avoid resubbing, if I can afford it. I still wish the ret tree had some kind of unleashed rage-style buff, but then again 3% crit is a nice early buff for everyone in the tree now. It would be nice if they could somehow make it so the 3% crit applied to any debuff judgement, just because then a ret pally would seriously help out a raid.

As far as dps goes, I know pallies are considered lol-worthy by more dedicated dps classes. But if they're lucky/stack enough crit they can deal pretty big dps. Especially if they're blood elves.

The changes overall are more pvp focused for now, so hopefully at some point they put in more stuff to make it a more viable tree for raiding/pve.
