Nothing tops the first half of the Brazil-Germany game. Watching the crowd have a breakdown while watching their home team get taken behind the shed was the greatest moment in sports history.

How was overall tournament? Decent. There were some great games, and of course teams like Japan, France, Germany, and US made it worth it. At the same time it is obvious women's football has ways to go. But you know what? Give them time and one day I believe they can have a great tournament. Women's football has certainly improved a lot from what I hear. What needs changing, the stupid lego grass (as one GAFfer put it) and the horrible officiating. My god they tried their darndest to ruin things.

It's pedantic and incredibly shitty to call the champion of the NATIONAL Basketball League or the NATIONAL Football League world champions.
Also in the World Baseball Classic the U.S. team has yet to win one.
Argue what you want. I'm saying that if you use the "world champions" title this time around you won't get puzzled or nasty looks from the rest of the world.
The USWMT earned it big time.

It's because all the world's best players play in the US in sports like basketball and baseball. A huge amount of players are from outside the US.
Furthermore, there are MLB and NBA teams from outside the US so calling them national champions would be even less accurate.

The US hasn't had to prove that we're world champions since WW2 -- it's automatic, in every regard. In fact, it's pretty much commonplace for the majority of the world population to say "World Champion United States" instead of just "United States" now. We're the de facto owners of those two words.

The US woman's team looks strong and skilled dare I say to take on any men's team.
Woman's national teams play against U-18 boys? O:
I see the US woman's team is very well balanced, nice pacing, with fast and strong strikers like Lloyd and Alex Morgan.
But who knows, I'm hoping the US men's team picks up the pace and finds this as an inspiration to do better!
It's like she was subbed at the 60th minute so she'd have more energy for the celebration.
