It just all seemed too fast and sudden, advert, star wars shilling, oh look someone on stage giving an award, nominees get like 5 second clips each, done, onto more adverts and star wars shilling. The pace just seemed majorly off for me.

I just got done watching it. How bizarre! But Telltale Batman and Psychonauts 2 are definitely things I'm interested in hearing more about!

Probably the most surprising thing about this year's event was that it was actually somewhat credible as an Oscars-style awards show but for video games. Hiccups and promotional considerations aside (and there were plenty of both), I think Keighley and company can be proud of that.

(but like next time give Life Is Strange an award you jerks)

That's the thing about endings, they leave the final impression. It took away from the Iwata and Westwood tributes, and some of the cool announcements like free Shadow Complex and Psychonauts 2.

Geoff had 110 minutes of a great show but then that ending left a sour taste in everyone's mouth.

Agree that the ending soured it. And the awards weren't noteworthy.

Other than that, they really put the focus where it should be - on the developers and I thought it was a great show.

What the fuck? Where did that come from? Keighley is one of the longest standing, most sincere people in the business. Not to mention one of the hardest working. Easy to throw stones when the extent of your ambitions is a weekly soapbox show on a green screen funded by your patreon.

As a huge fan of Keifer I think that was a really bitchy thing for Jade to say.

In this setting it just wasn't the time or place for a comment like that.

This isn't the Spike TV VGA's anymore.

The Kojima thing was arguably the best part, to be honest- it was great to see a show that you'd generally think would be a complete AAA publisher dick-suck-fest with the occasional pity award for smaller games (not to say that it wasn't that outside of this) give a very direct and public "Fuck Konami."

Really liked the show this year. Actually seemed like a real award show if you remove the battlefront marketing.

I'd believe it.

I'm also glad Viva Seifert was the actual winner since she was already celebrating. Would have been crushing if she had to sit down again.

So basically it was the award for Best Performance being read by Jade Raymond, and she said the winner was the actress from Her Story, then said the Witcher 3, making it sound like she was in the Witcher 3.

So that Witcher 3 guy is like supremely confused as to what is happening. And you can see the woman in front of him (the actress from Her Story who just won the award), lean back in surprise too because they don't understand what's happened.
