Trump getting a replica purple heart and saying it's much easier this way is a slap in the face to all the vets who have served. I can't believe how any vet would support that clown. He fucking dodged Vietnam.

The numbers we've been seeing are essentially a return to pre-FBI/RNC polling, so I predict these are merely correcting back to normal.

Just wait until the Khan family comments start being reflected. I think they're gonna be a turning point for the election. The Khan family will probably be in history books for unraveling Trump.

In 1980, Carter only got 41% of the popular vote. Third parties got over 8% combined.

It's happening again.

It doesn't usually work like that... Those numbers only add to 87%. In the final tally all the numbers will go up proportionately, if 13% don't vote.

edit: Maybe you're accounting for that. But significant none/other/undecided usually tapers off substantially by November. Will be more predictive around labor day.

HW Bush got 37% of the vote in 1992. I don't think it's possible that trump gets anywere near there but you never know.

Clinton got 43%, yet a legit electoral blowout with 370 EV. Could happen again!

Either way no Perot so I don't think so. Third party will not total to near 20% like that year.

There's zero way establishment GOP puts up with this for much longer. No way. Zero. While I do believe in 9th-dimensional chess (or baiting people into making mistakes) I don't believe Obama's statement today stops anyone from withdrawing support -- they're fucked either way.

5 minutes ago I was thinking the 1st of October. Now I'm thinking in the next couple weeks.

Thing is the risks for the GOP are very much weighted to quietly taking this shit. If we've seen one thing from Trump its that he escalates EVERYTHING. If they start withdrawing endorsements he'll go ape-shit on them and whip his white nationalist base into an anti-Republican frenzy. Three months of that and it will kill their turn out for all the races. Ryan and McConnell are fucked in ways no politician has been since like the 19th century.

{Scene: a hunting lodge bedroom. The opening shot is a close-up on a hand, hanging loose over the side of the bed. We hear birds chirping outside in the morning sunlight. There's a knock at the bedroom door.}

Another knock.

"Nino?"

Knock.

"Nino?"

We hear the bedroom door open.

"Oh my god.."

Some of the GOP support may go to Johnson, to make it similar to the Perot effect. But this might be different because in 92, Clinton and Bush were unsatisfactory to a lot of people but not apocalyptic. I think some of the moderates now might be scared enough of a Trump presidency to hold their nose and vote for Clinton.

Johnson has to get in the high single digits to make it possible for trump to get below 40% of the vote unless hilary somewhow gets close to 55%

STOP DIGGING:

So the Khan's give a speech about how creating a law punishing Muslims is unconstitutional and they did their best to show they aren't just Muslims but good Americans. Trump and Co then can't stop talking about how Muslims are evil and the Khans should be thankful to Trump for trying to protect them from that evil religion. Some one please ask Trump how many people were in Al Qaeda at its peak. 1.6 billion Muslims in the word and yet Al Qaeda peaked at 11k people and ISIS never broke 100k fighters. I might be wrong but I feel way too many people ignore Muslims have lots of denominations just like Christians do and get broad brushed to the point of ridiculousness. I would argue poor countries and poor neighborhoods have more to do with criminals and extremists than religion.

Hey guys.. What's..?

Oh... Oh my.. Um.. How is it that this man finds a new way to vomit diarrhea in new and improved ways?

I think at this point we should just play fanfiction and come up with an average day for the Trump Campaign and see how close we come to things actually happening because at this point, anything is really possible.

All we really need now is a surprise Ryan loss.

I would do awful, terrible, horrible, mentally scarring things to make this happen. Things that can't be repeated in front of a decent, god fearing, lovely audience like PoliGAF
like not only putting ketchup on steak, but on steak that is well done
.

She will in the end.

I feel like the only problems for Hillary at the moment are that she'll answer more email questions the way she has or that Trump will piss off more and more conservatives and they'll push Johnson over to 15% and we'll have to deal with that nonsense in the debates.

Ryan and McConnell et al. can see the writing on the wall. This is no longer a save-the-party strategy but an exit strategy. They'll be blamed regardless, whether for tacit endorsement or otherwise.

And when relatively patient men are fucked no matter what they do, what do they choose?

This is by far THE worst couple of days I have ever seen for Trump

This is tail spin bad, this is basically how I would imagine the campaign sinking, just continuous blows to the point where the media has suffocated Trump in his own shit and everything he does and his campaign does to wiggle out of it simply amplifies the issues.

Donald Trump on Tuesday defend his claim that the election will be rigged, offering no actual evidence but saying he hears and feels things.

“Well, I’m talking about at the voter booth,” Trump told CBS12 in Florida. “I mean, we’ve seen a lot of things over the years. And now without the IDs, you know the voter IDs, and all the things that are going on. And some bad court cases have come down.”

Asked if he had any reason to believe something illegal was going on, Trump offered the answer, “I just hear things, and I just feel it.”

Trump claimed on Monday the election is going to be rigged.

“I’m afraid the election’s going to be rigged. I have to be honest,” Trump said in Ohio.
