I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
Just posting to say that if you couldn't see the jank in the first 6 Plus, you have no business whatsoever determining what phones feel unresponsive versus which feel great.

And I say that as a self-proclaimed Apple fanboy who has gone from the original iPhone to the 3GS -> 4S -> 5 -> 5S -> 6 Plus -> my current 6S Plus and "side" SE. I intend to buy a 7 this week.

The 6+ was the iPad 3rd gen of their phones - just didn't have the power to back up the display, and made for the worst experience comparative to the competition Apple has ever had in the space.

I think the general theory is a really slick nice pocketable carrying case that the earbuds magnetically attach to. Plot twist: the cute little carrying case is an inductive charger that you can just unplug and pocket or throw in your bag on impulse.

I would be so in for this. But it sounds like a wet dream imo

Yeah 6+ sucks. Can't wait to get rid of mine and go back to regular size. Fucking hate his phone with the laggy animations, shit tier form factor and ergonomics, and the constant touch disease/non responsive screen problem that I get like 10 times a day.

I dunno.

What would be the point of having some nice wireless earbuds, if they need some crazy cable and port to charge with? It would seem like an apple thing to do to use inductive charging technology like they have with the watch, so why not a case.

I've opened up to the idea of BT headphones. Golfing at the range with wired headphones sucks. On the course I use a small BT speaker anyway.

I wish the iPhone AE brings back the 4/S design language. Man glass and metal and that heft made that thing feel premium and sturdy as fuck. The 5,6,7 is ok i guess its not unique like the 4.

Skateboarding? Carrying groceries? Being able to put on headphones without putting the phone away?
the size of the phone doesn't matter while putting on headphones... It could be 3" and it would still occupy your hand

you got me with the skateboarding while carrying groceries and texting though, lol

I totally agree. That's why I still have a 24 inch TV. I simply don't understand why people get 60 inch TVs when they have the same functionality as a 24in. Large size TVs are useless.
You really mean to tell me that a 1.5 inch difference in screen size is the same as a 36 inch difference? Whatever you say, dude. To me, watching video on anything less than an iPad mini is going to be a terrible experience. I guess some people watch all the latest blockbusters on their phone instead of at home with surround sound though. The appeal of watching video on a pocketable device to me died with the iPod Video. If the screen real estate was utilized by multitasking that would be the only justification for losing one hand operation.

I'm not a fan of the plus-sized phones, but I think it's unfair to say that a larger screen is useless. Not for you? Sure, but some people do appreciate the larger screen size for thing like media viewing and so forth. You also get either increased screen real-estate, or larger elements, which can be useful to some.
You can also change the font size on the smaller phones and achieve the exact same thing, though.

The point was, you can open a door knob or put on headphones while you are carrying the phone with the same hand, since the phone is so small.

And honestly the SE is a godsend because it has the power and camera of a 6S in a device I can use while skating around and shit. I don't have to worry about dropping it, ever.

The larger screen has been useful for me when editing photos. I still prefer the size of the SE. I don't think changing font size to allow more text on the SE is a legitimate point though... You can do the same on the 6s plus (which I do) to allow even more text on screen at once.

At this point my smartphone must accomplish three things
1. Take good pictures and video
2. Have good battery life
3. Be fast

All three current gen iPhones are plenty fast, but there is a clear leader for the other two points.

As comfortable as I find the SE, I would have to compromise my usage to downgrade.

My LG G4 just entered random-boot-loop-land, so I picked up an S7 Edge. One day in, it's the best phone I've ever used. I'm still interested in how the new Apple is presented, as it may be released within my exchange window.

I do hope the A10 is more efficient battery wise.

6 and 6S were not amazing compare to their bigger counter part.

And no 'fast charging' equivalent on iOS is a huge problem that they really should get around to addressing.

Truely the biggest 'gamechanger' of smartphones of recent.

Being able to turbo charge from 0-50% in 30min is a god send.

A more efficient chip + a bigger battery + fast charging would be enough to get me to switch to the smaller size iPhone.

feels like i get pretty close to that with the larger ac adapter. i've never really timed it though.

Not entirely true. Bigger Font size on a small screen isn't the same as having a large readable font on a bigger screen. You sacrifice screen real estate to do that on a small phone, plus you're disregarding the obvious media advantages that i mentioned.

look, I get it, the bigger screen is useless to you, but not everyone is you, and can get something out of the larger screen. And obviously they do otherwise people wouldn't buy it.

This is ridiculous, but thanks for saying I have no business being happy with my 6+.

And lol to those saying decreasing font size makes up for the screen difference.

Nope. He's right. I get big screened phones just so I can pay more for it /s

Besides what's mentioned I use my phone two handed most of the time. The larger keyboard makes typing lot more comfortable and faster.

I have an iPhone 6 at the moment and I've had it since 2015. I bought it outright and planned to keep it till 2020 but I'm tempted to sell and use the money to buy the iPhone 7. Is it a huge upgrade? I know one person who still uses an iPhone 4.

Is there anyway to watch this conference on YouTube or anything? My friend only has a PS4 and a windows vista computer lol.

We have iPhones but I doubt there's a way to cast from the phone to the screen. lol

I didn't say you can't be happy with it. I said you can't honestly tell me there's no lag in its operation. If you do, then you clearly don't have the eye to make blanket statements about a phone's performance.

Would you prefer my analogy if I had said "any TV size above 24in is useless"?

why do people still respond to jaxapollo in apple threads? this is the same person that was furious Apple didn't release a new iPod touch to launch alongside Pokemon go

There was lag in 2014, but the latest versions of iOS are pretty stable and have eliminated all or most of the lag, right?

Using a 2.1A charger can take a 6s plus from 0 to 50% in about an hour. It's fast but there are faster charging phones out there.

Yep. I have so many iPad chargers and other reputable stuff.

I'm not a fan with how hot quick charge 3.0 gets, but one plus has found a solution that addresses that and is even faster.

In short this is an important area that Apple is behind atm. I assume there will be some solution announced this week or next year at the latest.

I hope so. I admit I don't use an iPad charger, but even then from what it looks like it's not as fast as most fast charging tech is nowadays. I hope it's this year, and yeah at the latest next year.

That's basically what Samsung has done with their wireless buds.

Definitely going with the 7-plus this time. Need the battery life.

I'm still not decided... My 6s battery is just fine, lasts about 1.5 days. I also prefer the size. However there seems to be a bigger gap between regular and + features this time around.

You watch TV on a 24" Set from your couch? You have friends over and all huddle around it? You have speakers that dwarf it connected to it?

If you live in an 8x8 dorm room I agree with you, but a bigger TV is definitely not useless if you have a living room.

I'm debating getting 7 Plus, a bigger screen seems nice in general but the biggest thing to me would be more room to read Kindle books. I currently have a 5S and use the Kindle app on my commute sometimes and it can't fit much text on the screen.

I used to not like phones with big screens for the same reasons others are mentioning, but now that I have a smart watch it'd be easy to just use that for texts and stuff when I'm out and about and then I'd have the big screen for at home, work, and on the bus. Nicer camera is a cool perk too.
