Its a combo of slow mo, Conor having major power, and yeah he's just that good of a striker

Eddie's face when he got clipped straight up first round was like looking at the face of death itself. Goodlord! ��

Here's the thing with Eddie, he's an old-school fighter who spars 500 rounds before a fight and gets through rounds through sheer grit and willpower. He's willing to get hit as long as he gets his shots in, which is a fine strategy against most lightweights.

But Conor is huge, and even if he wasn't, he's blessed with KO power that only few fighters have (Hendo, Rumble). Not only that, but he has crazy precision in his counters, something that's carried Anderson Silva for many years throughout his reign.

There's also the fact that Eddie's been in some crazy wars outside the UFC. His chin isn't as good as it used to be.

It might be MMA but boxing is a skill many fighters are lacking in. Conor is a very good boxer because that's his base. Yeah, he has a good kicking game and underrated jiujitsu, but boxing is his foundation. The only person to ever give him real trouble standing up is Nate, who is another great boxer.

Unlike most MMA fighters, fighters like Conor and Nate train boxing separately. They don't do "MMA boxing."

Huh? Yeah Woodley looked fantastic in that 1st and 4th rds. In fact those were bigger rds in his favor than any Wonderboy had. They both looked really good

I thought so. He had two dominant rounds that would have ended basically any other fighter. I've never seen someone survive a guillotine that tight, Rogan was dead certain Thompson was going to tap and he didn't.

He looked defeated by the first knockdown, frankly. Nate (in fight 2) got knocked down several times in the first round and had his face reduced to mush by the end of the fight, but he always just kept on plugging til the end and almost won a few times.
Alvarez looked like he'd mentally lost damn near immediately.

Polar opposite of Wonderboy who seemed to decide death wasn't enough to tap out to and willed his corpse to keep fighting anyway.

Woodley/Thompson was an amazing battle. McGregor put on a show and utterly embarrassed Alvaraez. Eddie looked like an amateur in there with the take downs, and then getting knocked down 3 times in the first round. Awesome PPV card, everyone I had over had a blast.

Yeah. Nate just has a better chin than ... well mostly everyone it seems.

yeah def need to rewatch woodley/wonderboy and watch more on woodley, i was completely focused on wonderboy and seeing woodley in the corner having no idea what to do left a huge impression on me

hmm, so i'm going to rewatch weidman fight, wonderboy fight, and conor fight. i rarely rewatch fights, so pretty amazing.

I need to stop doubting Connor. Don't think Khabib can do it by just looking at how much Micheal Johnson hurt him early in that fight. Also that Meisha vs Dracula looking girl had no business being on the main.

Yes. Great fight and it was close. I was pulling for Wonderboy but that was entertaining.

Hope they do it again.

Man, Woodley/Thompson was so fucking good, I'm glad I got it wrong and Woodley didn't get the KO.

Disgusted he got booed after such an amazing fight, but man, all the respect in the world to him and Wonderboy, who is a champ in all but name.
