I believe they are genuine, but this creates hype among the fans in a way a regular release wouldn't.your work is so stellar and faithful to the original that it almost feels like a scam, a mod has no right to be THIS on point all the time. I still wanna believe that you guys have access to capcom's secret vault of unused assets and all of this is just a ruse by capcom to make more money from re4. it's the only explanation.

For someone who has never played RE4, is getting the Steam version and installing the HD Project the best way to play the game in 2017?
Yep. That will be the easiest and most painless way to go about it.
Not finishing in 2017 though I think.
Not 100% on topic, but relating to RE4:
I have a weird problem with Resident Evil 4 on Steam - once I quit the game, the screen simply stays black and my PC completely stops responding. I can still hear sound in the background, but nothing will respond at all. Not even Ctrl+Alt+Delete works. This is even after reinstalling the game too.
That being said, no one else seems to have this issue. So I'm a little at a loss as to what to do. Otherwise, everyone else seems to like this port.
Running off an Intel 6600K, Nvidia 1070, 16GB RAM, tried both SSD and HDD... So my hardware shouldn't be an issue.
To be fair, it's been some months since I tried again. I should give it a go..
And yes, 60fps does feel like it introduces more aim sway. Albeit, my experience with the 30fps versions are somewhat limited (excluding the Wii version).
Your computer is broken, and dangerous. You must get rid of it asap. Not 100% on topic, but relating to RE4:

Relating to the topic: This is shaping up to be a fantastic mod. I really hope Capcom isn't stupid enough to cease and desist this.
I'd try doing a clean install of the latest Nvidia drivers as that may be something to do with it. If that doesn't work, try rolling back to the previous drivers maybe. I definitely haven't had those issues with an Intel CPU and a GTX 970.
Also - amazing work as usual guys, well done!

I'm willing to take care of it
Stop it man, this is too good...
Only nitpick is the removed wooden handle on Broken Butterfly.

And no, we don't have access to anything from Capcom unfortunately... But this makes the texture hunting and re-creation an entertaining part of the process ;P
XDDD
What I exactly meant is Capcom didn't gave us anything.
But yes, we found some of the libraries (or similar ones, because I've noticed some textures are shared in a looot of texture libraries spreaded all over the Internet). Most of the textures we found are mostly random textures (bricks, metal, plancks and thinks like that)
But even if we find the original, sometimes that's not enough for our HD standards and we need to re-create the texture anyway.
Then we have all the pictures Capcom made by themselves during their travel to Europe. That texture library isn't anywhere but in Capcom's offices (If they didn't delete all the files already of course...)
So, I'm sorry but there's no conspirations, lies or anything around here. Just and obsessed and stubborn guy who finds things on the Internet

Have you tried contacting capcom and asked if they could dropbox those photos for you in full rez ? Could be pleasantly surprised.
Nope, shouldnt affect your save at all.Does installing it will ruin my save?
Albert finished his pass at the Island areas a while ago. I just haven't been able to complete my pass. So, Albert continues to move forward and make progress in the meantime. Hope that helps! So how come this extra chapter was started before the the main game assets were completely finished (Island)?

i don't know if i have asked this question earlier, this thread has been going on for years after all. So Mr. Chris and Mr. Albert, what's your take on the main/human characters skin shading?
For example, will you go for something realistic? Left for Dead games are not running in the most advanced engine ever or a new one yet it looks really convincing. Or will you just go with the same old texture with increased definition?
And If you die before it happens I'll come to your grave with a laptop so u can check it outI've become totally at peace with waiting until the entire project is finished to replay this game.
Work looks phenomenal
I should destroy you/ But I digress...What I'm getting from this thread is that the Ultimate HD Version will be anything but. :-(
