Halo
DarkDemonBloodBorneSouls
Mario
Zelda
Little Big Planet
And Most of all.......Grand Theft Auto

As a father of 2 children 1 year away from my 40s and with very little time on my hands, it is easier to list what I am actually interested in (in no particular order):
- Mario
- Zelda
- Souls games
- Silent Hill
- Uncharted
- Horizon
- Witcher
- Final Fantasy
- GTA

Everything else has nearly no chance to even appear on my radar.

Off the top of my head - call of duty, nba 2k, madden, assassins creed, halo, Tom Clancy, metal gear….I guess there’s a lot

Call of Duty (more of a case of not really being into FPS games), any and all sports games (Madden/NBA/Soccer), also can't pretend to care about Souls like games, Uncarted (Remember playing the first way back when and found it so-so)

Some I can think of that are actual franchises and not a single game.

Smash bros
Yoshi
Kirby
Starfox
Animal crossing
Gears of War
Killer instinct
Red dead redemption
Sports (madden fifa etc)
Watch dogs
Destiny
Devil may cry
Tales of xxxx
Kingdom hearts
The sims
DragonBall
Meal of honor
Tony hawk

As much as I'd love to get into Dark Souls, and Mario I just can't. I never grew up on platformers and I play games to relax and have a good time not rage. Which sucks because I love the lore of the Souls games, and while I enjoyed Bloodborne a lot I never finished it and ended up watching Gab Smolders play the rest.

I also could care less about any racing games outside of racing, and I can't for the life of me get into stuff like Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley outside of maybe like 2 hours.

Playing Super Mario 3D World and Odyssey before that I realize that I have grown away from Mario. I also realize that Zelda has grown away from me with Breath of the Wild.

Sports games, Especially FIFA fuck that game.

Persona games look like games for nonces.

Battlefield yawn....

Dark Souls series, not my idea of fun.

Ys series just looks shit.

Minecraft
Call of Duty
Borderlands
Skyrim - not the whole series, I just think Skyrim is an over rated Reddit meme game
Dark Souls
Assassins Creed
All battle royales - including Fortnite and Apex

And don’t kill me but... GTA.

Souls games, those games/days of just learning by dying to get the mechanics are over for me.
TLoU, had zero interest even before all the woke hoopla .
Sports games, they've just become overly complex or shit controls for me. I'd rather just go play said sport.
Any game with shit controls, I've already ditched out of Witcher III and can't bring myself to revisit Cyberpunk (both on console). CDPR I'm not touching any future console releases of yours at all.
Games that don't respect your time e.g. Destiny or WoW grinding. Fuck that shit design/publishing mantra.

Grand Theft Auto : it's basically the real world so it's a big no for me
Red Dead Redemption : same reason
Mario : platformer, overused and overrated
Gears of War, Call of Duty, Battlefield... : FPS and Shooter in general
Street Fighter : I really like fighting games but I never, despite trying several time, liked Street Fighter system (Except for Third Strike)
Any sports game : sport is useless
LoL, Fortnite, Minecraft, Apex Legend... : you see the pattern I guess...

Probably some others, but this is what came immediately in my mind

Halo 4 and 5
Gears 4 and 5
Animal Crossdressing (DidIDoItRight)
Call of Booty
Counter Strike (Terrible game)
Microsoft Flight Sim (I‘d rather watch paint peel)

I know that this game isn’t popular and it’s an older title for $5 but man, Lords of The Fallen, this game is so bad that if I lost $5 on the street, it would’ve been more worth it!!!

I’m going through a lot of Sony exclusives that I didn’t make time for with the PS4.

I didn’t “get” God of War for a bit but it ended up being one of my favorite games for the system after it basically becomes a Metroid backtracking type game with all kinds of RPG elements. Great story too. Went for the platinum and I had a great time.

And now I’m playing Uncharted 4 immediately after and ho boy this isn’t even a game so much as an interactive movie where you have to do tedious linear climbing and shooting bits between cut scenes. The thing is - I beat all three games of the Uncharted collection so I’m not sure why I’m surprised.

I’ll finish the game because I like to see how my TV shows or movies end. But I’m having trouble understanding why people get excited for this as a video game?

That would be “most of them” for me.

It would take a lot less to list the ones I do care for.
And even then chances are it’s because they are good games mechanically and not because of the “franchise” they belong to.

Hell, as long as the types of games I enjoy are still made I could probably live in a world where no game ever gets a sequel and every new release is a new IP/franchise without an ounce of regret.

-Anything from Naughty Dog post-crash bandicoot (so basically uncharted and TLoU)
-GTA
-most non-sonic sega franchises (except maybe jet set radio)
-all sports games (and all racing sims)
-mass effect (2 was good. 1 was a clunky piece of shit and 3’s ending ruined the trilogy for me.)
-square Enix JRPG’s (mainly Kingdom hearts and final fantasy)
-undertale (and earthbound for that matter)
-fnaf
-most BR games
-resistance (if I had a choice, I’d say killzone was the closest thing that Sony had to be a halo killer)
-call of duty and BF (I’ve been burnt out on these for awhile now)
-new super Mario bros (you’ve played one, you’ve played them all. Seriously. Resolutions aside I can’t tell a fucking difference between the first one and nsmbwu:d)

also most hack and slashes (GoW, Bayonetta, DmC, Dante’s inferno, etc) It really wasn’t until GoW4 that I actually started respecting the franchise.

Ratchet and wank and Crash Bandicoot.

They aren't good games people. Nostalgia isn't going to get me to sit through hours awful gameplay.

You are full of anger. I wonder if there are actually any games you enjoy playing.

Anything EA puts out these days and Sports games in general

Anything Ubisoft (I'm fed up with the Ubisoft busywork formula, the last game i've played was Far Cry 4), however this might change with Far Cry 6

Call of Duty Multiplayer

Any Battle Royale / Survival Games that are currently popular (Just not genres i particularly like)

Final Fantasy

Anything Nintendo (Because i don't own a Nintendo console)

I think it would be easier to just name the series I stopped playing.

Pokemon
Sun and Moon put me off with poor post game, removed features every time, and atrocious performance. No regrets, given Dexit and all the other removed and resold content in Sword/Shield.

Assassin’s Creed
3 was the game that made me want the bad guys to win because the good guy was annoying and boring. No regrets, given the direction the series went after.

GTA/Rockstar Games
I bought 5 hoping it was a return to form after 4 took things in a direction I didn’t like, but the series at the point in time is dead to me. I have no interest in future titles from the company.

Call of Duty
MW2-BO2 was my run. The fun was in the friends that played it, and since they dropped off and I moved to PC there’s nothing left there for me but ever increasing install sizes.

Battlefield
I only actually played Bad Company 2, but when you’ve played the best everything else looks like a disappointment. I’ve stayed well away.

Mario Kart
I only bought 8 on Wii U, and that was I bought into the hype of how good everyone said it was. It’s actually disappointingly boring and it’s not just because it blue shell rubber banding. I just don’t like the series. Crash Team Racing and Diddy Kong Racing mastered the craft a long time ago, and this pales in comparison.

Uncharted/Tomb Raider
These are basically the same thing as far as I’m concerned. Bought Uncharted 1-3, still haven’t finished 2. Bought the first Tomb Raider reboot, and didn’t finish it. It’s obviously not for me as a game design approach. These and GTA4 were what made me realise that I prefer the Japanese approach to the Western approach, to put it broadly.

I can’t think of any more, and that’s either because I carefully pick my series or because I care so little about others that they don’t have a place in my head.

Most of them, really. Not to sound edgy or elitist, but the top-popular franchises usually aren't my cup of tea : CoD, Halo, Fifa, Uncharted, Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo/Forza, Zelda, Mario,...
As a matter of fact it would be faster for me to list the popular AAA franchises I do enjoy (Assassin's Creed, Titanfall/Apex, ... and I think that's all).
I do enjoy simple, quirky games that don't overstay their welcome though, which is consistent with my discovery of video games through the arcades.
