TLOU was huge. Horizon isnt as big. IIRC, it sold 10 million whereas TLOU sold 20 million.

It should easily sell 4 million in the first month though.

GOW Ragnorak should beat TLOU2's 4 million in 3 days record.
The data's that put HZD at 10 millions copies is 3 years old, after less then 2 years on the market. I'm sure it has sold at least another couple of millions. TLOU sold "only" 8 millions copies on PS3, the rest are its PS4 port's sales. I'm not sure that the difference between the 2 IP is as large as your numbers make it. And the sequel has been divisive way before being published, while HFW seems to have a more conventional hype, so it wouldn't surprise too much if it was able to make the same day 1 sales numbers of TLOU 2

Is a hard pass for me, didnt like the first game and i think Aloy is the worst MC from last gen.

Sadly they droped Killzone for this :(

Actually TLOU original PS3 release sold like 5M copies back then. The remaster on PS4 was the one that sold the most. Those 20M copies take into consideration 2 different platforms, lots of double dippers and it's sales data from at least 7 years of the game on the market.

The 10M for Horizon is completely outdated and the game had been out for like 2 and half years when that was revealed...maybe not even that much.

I do think the game will hit 5M easily after 1 or 1 month and half.

Not worried about the embargo, waiting at least a year to pick up any 1st party cross gen titles so the plot will be ruined long before I get my hands on it.,

Honestly, I saw a leaked clip from that Chinese review and it looks very similar to the first game.

I think calling it an uncharted 2 moment is a stretch.

I've been saying this for a while. And it's genuinely not a knock on the game either. The first game looks like a PS5 game. The 2nd game will be more similar than people expect, but will look phenomenal.

I'm sure it'll do well in sales. I guess the game to beat on PS5 is Miles Morales, and that honestly shouldn't be hard to do.

That gif is such high quality that my phone can't handle 😜

91.

From the very few clips and trailers I've let myself to watch it looks like a godtier game.

It seems like they fixed the main things that very a little rough in the first game.

lol this is so idiotic. Why keep this a secret until then only to have reviewers spoil it.

Why is this even a spoiler. It’s a gameplay mechanic. I’m so fucking out of touch with the current marketing landscape. None of this makes any sense whatsoever. I feel like a boomer.
Exactly how I feel

"Now you can jump in Elden Ring", JESUS, the spoiler pls

Ridiculous. It's just a gameplay mechanic. It's not spoiling any story beat.

Gamers are becoming more and more sensitive and fragile

Uncharted 2 also looked similar to Uncharted 1, but the maturation of the game concept took a huge leap. And this is what Horizon 2 looks like it will be doing, the action gameplay in HDZ was lauded for a reason, but now it's time for it to deliver on the RPG elements like sidequests, and overall polish that was lacking in HZD 1.

Uncharted 1 had paper thin characters, I don't know what you are talking about. It's neither here nor there anyway.
I can tell the same thing about Horizon characters, but thats just my opinion.

Again, dont expect the U2 moment, its not gona happen.

Aloy is a much more developed and fully realized character than Nathan was. The rest? Sure. But the world and the lore? Another level.

I was talking about the gameplay, the open world, the quests and sidequests, the melee, etc HZD was Guerrilla's first crack at a game like that and it was a hit. They have taken 5 years with the sequel, and if impressions from twitter are anything to go by? Be excited.

Again, dont expect the U2 moment, its not gona happen.

Starting to sound more and more like you don't want it to happen. Dont forget to drink water, your sodium levels about to give you a heart break in a few days time.

Less than 24 hours left til reviews drop, it’s gonna be interesting to see the scores.

I’m still going with 91 MC score, but seeing some of the tweets from reviewers I could see it score even higher. It’s safe to say that it’s easily a GotY contender according to several high profile reviewers.

thats very interesting. We will see if Horizon sells 4 million in 3 days though.

I think its far more likely now than i thought a few days ago.
I dont think it will. Most people will want it on PS5 but the stock isn't there yet. More likely going to benefit from long legs like Miles Morales

Yeah Horizon won't sell 4 million in 3 days.

It just doesn't have that kind of pull in my opinion.

I it will do well though. For my money it's a much better IP than Ghost which didn't resonate with me at all.

Still not convinced GG can make a fun game. They always look amazing, but the gameplay falls flat.

Killzone 2 and 3 were really good in that department. Never got the chance to try Horizon, so no idea how it fares.
I will agree with you however that GG still lacks a je-ne-sais-quoi that may propel it to join the ranks of ND, SSM, Insomniac and MM.
