Hellblade 2 (seemingly) Playble Start to End - Ninja Theory Tweets Update

Exactly how long is this game if they can sit through it or was this multiple showings? Mind you, my favourite Ninja Theory game (Heavenly Sword) was only 5-6 hours, was a good game to just play through in an afternoon

7.5 hours to beat the first game. So yeah, you're looking at one day at work.

everyone sat through a presentation to watch the entire game.

look i am getting over the game bloat like everyone else, but that is sounding like a 4-5 hour campaign if that tweet is anything to go by

Hellblade was one of the best games last-gen, so great catch for MS.

This will probably be great as well, but I'd temper my expectations a bit if I were an Xbox fan.
Ninja Theory isn't a studio that'll deliver on the unrealistic expectations people had before the release of current-gen.

Still, hope for Ninja Theory to surprise us all. They're a great studio.

I never played the original, I am not really into those types of games to be honest. Hellblade 2 is reminding me of The Order 1886. Great visuals, with 0 substances or gameplay, I hope I am wrong. Ninja Theory is a good studio, but I wish they would go back to making more arcadey games like they did in the past.

Enslaved is their best game. Hellblade1 is good but not even close

Honestly, gameplay was okay, but I actually really loved the combat. Maybe not the deepest, but imo one of the more realistic feeling battles.
At least gameplay was much better than The Order.

Then again, despite it's flaws, I loved The Order as well.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
Regardless, must be quite short then.

I doubt they were all sitting through a single session, this just looks like a regular playtest that pretty much all studios do, the game is likely content complete now.

If there’s any relation to the topic involving Microsoft in anyway gaf is just so damn negative.

Used to love talking about games on here somewhat objectively… I personally don’t like reset but at least they are somewhat objective.
You were good until the last part IMHO. Doing this at the other place would have been enough for a ban, I think. As for Hellblade 2, I think that as the game is supposed to be a 2024 release it is good that it is playable from start to end. I hope that for next year E3 time they will make a demo for it.

Did not enjoy the first game at all, so definitely not looking forward to this one. Hope it’s good for you folks that are though.

Fuck me the pessimism on this site is depressing

If folks here are mostly 13 years old, I get it. We've all been there. But if those spewing such strong automatic negativity for an unreleased game are grown adults, it is pathetically infantile.

How about giving some optimistic hope to the game and the developers that have worked years and put their sweat and passion into their game.

There is no need to mock and be so pessimistic.

Really Enjoyed the first one. Only hope this one is longer.

Does it consist of a character standing still and talking for 4 hours to some imaginary figure and then the cut scene ends and that'sthe full game? Just kidding. Hopefully it'll be good but I have doubts.
That's funny because "those" (psychological suspense and world traversal) was the parts I absolutely loved about the game. The puzzles and combat I didnt like at all.

..And, in that context, why I'm excited for a wholistic HB2; Because the devs have on several occasions stated that combat and puzzles are where they have put extra work into improving.

I think they really screwed up by announcing this game with the Series X. Firstly, the game was obviously nowhere near finished and secondly it implied the game was a bigger game and more open than I think it will ultimately be.

I can see this, based on what they've shown, being an indy game in terms of scope just with AAA graphics, and they really needed it to be more than that.

I think this game might get absolutely destroyed on social media when it's revealed what it really is, and what it really isn't, because some people still think this will be Xbox's answer to God of War.
