I almost wouldn't be surprised if some of those people hated on Starfield, but now that it's potentially making way to another platform it's a severe problem. I don't get it.

Humans can connect very emotionally with the things they enjoy and become quite invested indeed, usually with age comes self awareness and we grow out of these sometimes irrational behaviours. It's been discussed in a way because MS has already said in court that if they don't reach their numbers by 2027 they'll potentially exit the market. So at that point how much longer will your games work for? Now you see them making big changes like this so that clearly means things aren't going as planned. I would be worried as well and this is why console sales matter and why how well your console of choice is doing matters.

My oldest/best friend from high school is 46 and a hardcore Xbox fan like that guy. If Xbox were to go full third party and gradually exit hardware, he’d sound almost exactly like that video. Guaranteed. His entire gaming identity is wrapped up in Xbox.

I would assume the best action right now is to just wait for more details and information. I'm already seeing so many rumor mills getting out of control, and until there's some confirmation, I think it's smart to be aware, but also cautious.
