Nah…its not the vocal minority. The game does have problems but so did BF3, BF4, BF1, BF5 etc… It seems the hive minded haters want to be extra toxic towards this without a mature discussion on whats wrong with the game…They rather bombard twitter and message boards with “ZoMG TH!S GAmE SuCKZORZ” without nuance just like TLOU II or Cyberpunk 2077 (on PC). Immature toxic haters make it hard for people to discern toxic comments and valid criticism…
Just because something isn’t exactly how YOU want it doesn’t mean the games sucks…I could understand if you talked about glitches and bugs. But “OMG IT DOESNT FEEL LIKE WW2” or “THE GAME ISNT THERE” or “SPECIALIST11!1!!!” isn’t valid… that’s personal opinion and its still a good core battlefield game.<— Biggest battlefield fan ever here. Wanted the game to rock and purchased EA access for ten hours. Played first map with the sand dunes. Shocked at how bad it looked and played. Usually buy all bf games day one but held out on this one. Still bought it retail for 40 dollars at a sale for some weird fucking reason. Watched some more current game play from streamers and it still looks bland as hell. Sent my copy back today - they aren’t getting shit from me.
BFV was in many ways a launch and (woke) PR disaster and they messed up the atmosphere badly. It just doesn’t feel like WWII. Still a great shooter now after all patches and great fun. Still go back to it. They can never save 2042 the way they eventually did with BFV. The game is just not there.
Imagine creating a BF game with BF2 as a base for maps and air vehicle control, the atmosphere from BF1, the shooting mechanics from BFV and the pace of rush Bad company 2. I am not saying it is easy but they have all the blue prints in place to make one legendary title that feels truly like battlefield - if they even understand their own IP. That would even have impressed a lot of COD players and they would have grown player base at full retail price. Instead they did EVERYTHING WRONG and we get this abomination of a game that is just embarrassing and probably the death of battlefield as we know it.

Yea I am angry as hell. There’s nothing like battlefield when made right. A large part of my gaming heart died with 2042 and now they might make it free to to play two months after release, even further shitting on their fans.

So I don't know what to say about all this other then having a bad BF launch doesn't always mean the next title will be "DOA". For all we know there is more trust in them putting out a game post launch with support then day 1 or something.

Maybe that support is what makes people trust buying those games at launch as to why BF 2042 is now one of the fastest selling BFs in history, technically it shouldn't be if gamers REALLY gave a shit about what occurred 1-3 years ago, from what I've seen by the time a new release is happening, a lot of that is ignored by the majority.

Unfortunately, the community often forgets about a lot of this shit, as to why 2042 even sold what it sold in the first place, based on BFVs sales alone, 2042 shouldn't even be near the number its at in sales if people REALLY fucking cared about that shit as a majority.
I don't even get the whole free to play thing regarding this, you can't buy maps or specialist or weapons etc, we'll see what they do or if it will be one of those separate BF 4 Free type things lol

It's not bad but it is very mediocre. Played the 10 hour trial and you can tell this game went through a development hell and has an identity crisis.
