This would be too big to shadow drop. Not to mention they've put in a LOT of development time for a DLC, it would make sense to separate the announcement and launch to give enough time to build some hype. Especially since it's been almost 2 years since Elden Ring came out.
Showing it at the Game Awards makes a lot of sense but I think they will wait until at least the end of December to launch it. February is probably the most likely but it sure would be cool to get an announcement at TGA on the 8th, get hands on previews the following week and then the next week download and play. Perfect rollout to quickly rebuild hype for a 2 year old game.
