Gay porn is where it's at.
nothing really interest me in these consoles anymore, MS is bring everything to steam, Sony is slowly going the same path, i have zero interest whatsoever with nintendo titles, and with the news that games are going $80, i am just done buying anything new

is anyone here with the same type of thinking?

Nope, I prefer physical over digital so I'll be sticking with console (I'm old and stuck in my ways). As for the price increase, I have no problem waiting to play most games.

Sort of.

Xbox is effectively dead to me. All their games going to PC at release eliminated the need to ever own one again.

If Sony does the same, then it's similarly bye bye for Playstation. Right now they're half arsing it enough that it's only been a couple of titles though, so unless they go all in one not needing a console, I'll probably stick with a PS5 and see how things go.

Nintendo are absolutely killing it right now though.

As hard as they shit the bed in the first half of the generation with WiiU, they are absolutely on fire in the second half of 8th gen with the Switch. Honestly, I don't think Nintendo have been on such fine form as this since the N64.

Out of all the big players in the industry, it's the inevitable 9th gen Switch 2 I'm most excited about seeing.

If you enjoy being screwed by companies you'll love PC gaming. Then of course the elitist community who brown nose for brands and will mock you for genuine complaints.

My advice don't bother with pre-orders or new products just wait. Also stay the hell away from any other PC gamers to remain sane. You think sony fanboys are bad wait till you see how nasty pc elitists are.

Would be nice to try it first, because despite me owning every gen pretty killer PC, I hardly play on it. Thankfully nowadays GPUs can do far more then gaming (when you don't use AMD), which I utilised.

I'm completely forgoing both console and pc in favor of the standalone Oculus Quest 2 VR headset. Yes, a step back in dumb graphics whoring, but a huge step forward in immersion and portability - I can take it, I lived already all past eras of graphics whoring...

Depends on what you want? Whats more important. Higher settings or the exclusives on consoles?

Can you afford a PC to play the games better than Xbox Series X and PS5?

Are you interested in Exclusives? Nintendo, Playstation and XBox/gamepass?

Im saving for a cheap pc to play the games I cant get on PS5 and Switch, mostly indies and older games.

Im not spending $$$$ to play 3rd party games I can play on PS5 but a bit prettier. Especially if I can get 60fps option now on next gen consoles.
I Prefer Nintendo and Playstation exclusives over 90% of 3rd party games Anyway.

PC doesnt have the exclusives it use to and mostly plays console 3rd party games. I remember the days where PC’s had good exclusive PC games. Not celebrating playing console games like Tekken and DMC 5 at high setting lol...

Rather not miss out on games like Zelda BOTW, Fire Emblem, Mario Odessy, Smash, Luigi’s MAnsion, Bloodbourne, Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, Uncharted 4, Gran Turismo etc

If you can wait years for sony exclusives it's kinda the best way yeah.

Most definitely me too.
Though I will miss the physical used copies, PC will just last me a loooong asss time.

Playing any FPS with a controller is a pain or I would had bought a PS5 and call it a decade.

Switched to PC only (+ Switch) this entire gen and haven't felt like I missed out on anything. With consoles literally using off the shelf PC parts next gen, it'll be even better unless you really really like Sony's interactive movies, but even those are hitting PC now.

I always say this, but usually end up caving and getting a Playstation each gen as well...not so sure this time though.

What kind of PC you have in mind? Because I would at least waited for 3070 if you have not exactly big on budget. Sure you could build 1000USD PC with 3080 if you are lucky, however it's going to suffer on CPU front.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
PC + Switch here. Will end up buying a PS5 down the line if the exclusive titles are worth it.

If you don't have a rush to play those exclusives on day 1, I would advise you to do the same.

I'm thinking about going primarily PC next gen and then picking up a Ps5 in several years when it's cheaper (maybe there's a slim version down the line) and it has several exclusives I want for lower prices.

Between the outrageous price around here ($529 for the DIGITAL version BEFORE the 19% sales tax) and games getting more and more expensive it just isn't even that cheap anymore.

The much lower price of games due to regional pricing (and third party keys resellers) and free multiplayer will quickly compensate the price difference in hardware.

I've largely done the same, minus finding the Switch useful for portability, and has more actual exclusive content I like.

Sony looks to be doing a similar thing as they did on PS4, with a small handful of AAA exclusives, meaning only 2 to 3 games top I would play a year while it collects dust the rest of the time...except now that they're porting to PC, it's going to be even less ill play. Likely going to wait a year or two before picking up a PS5, and Microsoft makes it easy by just releasing everything on PC now.

PC is a big upfront investment, but once you do it, is all gains. Theres store competition -lower prices-, mods, high refresh rates, more games, etc etc

I seriously don't understand people who mock pc users here. The thread is valid and the opinions are valid as well. I'm having a great time and my pc isn't even a high spec one. I can play a lot of games that I enjoy and several emulators. It's a real cool machine. I seriously don't undestand the hate coming from gaming enthusiasts. You guys have to realize that not everyone are interested in the new consoles and that is a legit train of thought. Stop with the tribalism already and let the guy play what he wants.

In 2000, when I first heard that MS would do the Xbox, my first reaction was “this is bad , they’ll try to take over consoles and kill it”. While this didn’t look the case during the 360 era, it’s looking like this now ,as they never cared about console exclusives etc. Perhaps it’s not deliberate , they’re just happy to own gaming whichever way , but it’s put console gaming in question.

Nintendo aren’t doing part, weak hardware doesn’t fight for console gaming, their games lack mass appeal and are over priced. Nintendo have settled for Nintendo’s niche.

Only Sony can save consoles now.

I’m hoping that the PS5 can give you an experience that even a 3080 can’t , sitting in your lounge , with the controller , faster disk speed etc , whatever it is. If SEGA comes back with really good console exclusives on PS5, perhaps that will tilt the balance.

Who is mocking PC users? I see none of that in this thread. It’s the PC elitists who usually do the mocking.

Your reasoning is sound, especially if you can fork out a decent amount of cash in order to build a monster PC able to handle next-gen flawlessly.

I'm 70% sure that by the end of this gen, all PS exclusives are going to be console exclusives.

Switched 7 years ago and haven't regretted it. Sony and Microsoft's 1st party games this generation have been overall pretty bad. It's all about 3rd party games and the majority come to PC. Xbox 1st come to PC and you can emulate a Switch.

If you don't want to play the exclusives there is nothing stopping you. But I would wait a little bit before getting a PC since we are between generations in parts.

PC offers more opportunities for something new and gives younger developers the platform for their games. Got tired of all that old guard that produces the same kind of games for over 20 years.

I'm not speficically talking about this thread but this week I've seen some vitriolic stuff about pc users coming from console enthisiasts. I know pc users can be pretty elitist sometimes but I've seen a surge of people interested in PC due to disapointment with consoles and some users outright making fun of them because how dare they miss Sony's exclusives or something.

From my perspective I just entered a pc phase again (I usually alternate between consoles and PCs) because I'm currently not interested in both Sony and MS exclusives. I do have a huge interest in Nintendo but the Switch is too expensive here. I'll probably play the current Nintendo line-up when it turns retro. At the same time I'm a consolized PC player and I have no interest in LOL or any other mouse and keyboard games. It's mainly fighting, indie, arcade racing and emulation. It rocks!

That said, I'll probably get a PS5 down the road because if I need any kind of Xbox fix it exists on PC already. Xbox was my main platform this gen but I lost interest in it. Gears doesn't do anything for me anymore and Halo was my favorite game but I can just play the classics if I need a fix because 343 sucks. Don't care about Forza at all.

Exactly. I don't get all the talk about boring cookie cutter "AAA" open world filler bullshit games when GAF is comparing platforms. The best thing about PC gaming is all the games that don't ever come to consoles, early access stuff, indies, simulators, MMORPG and strategy titles. FPS games are also objectively better with keyboard and mouse. Higher framerates and better IQ are just a bonus, the PC exclusive games are where it's at.

In my opinion, unless you must have the best of the best performance and some of the unique features of PC gaming right now, then the better value option is to purchase a console and then upgrade to a PC midway through the generation. The Xbox SX is probably going to be equivalent to a PC with an 8 core AMD CPU and an RTX 3060 for $500 US dollars. If someone offered me a PC with those specs compared to a PC with a RTX 3080 at double or even triple the cost, I would go for the PC with the 3060. The Xbox & PS5 should be able to offer up comparable graphics to the PC for the next 2-3 years and when they start to really lag behind in a few years, then I would upgrade to the latest PC hardware which will truly blow them away. Regardless of whether they have exclusives or not, the consoles are better value at this stage in the hardware cycle.

He's being mocked for having "masterrace" in your username about going full PC.

Also this thread could easily be tied into a couple others in the front page
