Well it's getting the most primetime TV ads I've seen for a DS game since Tomodachi Collection. So that's something I guess.

a question if possible : what is the buzz like for mh4 and pokemon there in japan and among your students???

A relatively tame week imo. I also support the notion of ALttP2 seeing a Japanese early 2014 launch, Pokemon and Monster Hunter will be sufficient for this year in regards to Japan sales.

The reasoning, for me, that LM2 would reach 1m is that it would sell more like a Mario game, which DKCR is not. Interesting to see its legs finally overcoming DKCR's launch period with holidays, though. At the likely rate it's going, should be in front of DKCR probably just before the time of Obon, right?

Maybe the people buying games this week actually bought the 3DS in past peak weeks and are picking up their 2nd or 3rd game.

PSP peaked at 4,23 million units the week ending Sept 7, 2008. At that time total yearly hardware sales were 13.7 million. Since 2009 yearly hardware sales have been pretty much 10 plus minus 1 million. As of this week that number is 9.4 million.

If the current trend holds, PS3, Wii U and Vita will meet at around 1 million yearly sales in 2-3 months. Vita needs to sell a bit better than last summer though. I'm not expecting that to happen. Wii U on the other hand can only go up since it sold zero units last summer...

As a few have pointed out, 3DS is currently doing worse than last year. I doubt it will fall below 5 million in this graph before next rise however. Question is if it will reach 6 million later this year? 7 million?

Some of the import places like NCSX get hundreds and hundreds of orders. Add in Play-asia, AmiAmi and the others And it seems feasable importers could make 1000+. Significant percentage.

This week was kinda boring for gaming, but I suppose I could do a short report later today...

Other than SMT4 (Obviously, due to low supply and it being the week *after* the launch week) and Friend Collection, I note everything 3DS in the Media Create charts is *up* this week - and Friend Collection's drop is minute, anyway. SMT4 purchasers looking at other software on the system?

I wanted to say "expected for Rabbids Land", but actually, no, even if Ubi's expectations and the shipment were small, 10% is pretty abysmal.

Is Minecraft on PC huge in Japan too or do they not care about that over there?

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Doubt it'll ship with anything less than 2 million copies at launch, they always play hard to get at the beginning of the preorder phase. Though they might try again to push eShop purchases by limiting the stock, who knows.

MH4 won't launch with at least 1 million initial shipment as the very minimum. Capcom and retailers aren't crazy.
