Overall, the picture is quite bleak. Those are some very expensive graphics cards and while the performance uplift is substantial, they both significantly outpace the price hike, especially on the NVIDIA side. With the rumored 4070 Ti coming in at $899, things aren't looking like they're about to improve anytime soon. If the 4070 Ti does come at that insane price tag, then the 4070 which is typically the most popular mainstream card will probably end up costing at least $699, the MSRP of the 3080.

Edit: Can a mod fix the title? I meant 37% faster than the 6950 XT.

Couple of other interesting bits; the 4090 is a whopping 72% faster than the 7900 XTX in RT titles at 4K. It's also impressively 38% faster than its smaller sibling, the 4080, under the same conditions. The 7900 XTX is 3% faster than the 4080 at 4K, and actually a bit slower than the 3090 Ti at 4K RT with the latter being 3% faster. The 7900 XTX is also 51% faster than the 6950 XT at 4K/RT so pretty solid results there.

Fantastic here’s my summary.
Both play games.
One does it slightly faster than the other.
Both too expensive.

Buy cheaper model from last - also plays games fast.
