Do I need to play prior BG games before playing this?
No
Is it possible for 2 players to play through the entire game cooperatively?
Yes

Yes. Local split/screen or online. Is it possible for 2 players to play through the entire game cooperatively?
You're trying too hard.
This is especially retarded.
No, you don’t need to play prior games.Do I need to play prior BG games before playing this?

No one has. But then again the secret is to play without worrying about losing content.I don't think I have time to play this game. Scope seems daunting.

No, but why wouldn't you?Do I need to play prior BG games before playing this?
Apparent lackage of bear fuckingNo, but why wouldn't you?
Understandable, carry on.Apparent lackage of bear fucking
Da fuck? It's like the best looking game of that type to date. I mean, it's intention is to be an isometric perpective, so what else is better looking for this game type?I loved Bg1 and 2 but watching the recent trailers for this game...wow is it rough looking. I mean holy crap. The animation, facial expressions, graphics etc all feel janky.
But, if they can pull off the living breathing world gameplay we've been hyped up on that stuff won't matter as much I suppose.

I deny it.So because every RPG of this type looks like crap it's totally cool that this looks bad too?
Strange take...
The game has bad animations, bad facial expressions, and dated graphics. There is no denying this.
The end.
I still think most people who say this haven't played many WRPGs.No game in the entire industry has got close to Witcher 3 period. This game was and still is a miracle
Easily deniable cause it isn't factSo because every RPG of this type looks like crap it's totally cool that this looks bad too?

From what i've seen it should be good on controller also. The game is turn based which is good for controller since you can plan your moves at leisure.Any impressions available of BG3 being played with a controller?

Top of the industry? Indeed not.The game has bad animations, bad facial expressions, and dated graphics. There is no denying this.
That's the thing, this games animations have to take into account the fact that race, class, height, body type, hair, sex of the character, plus reflect the hundreds of different type of equipment the character might have equipped.See the latest trailers? Obviously not otherwise you would agree.
Please go watch the running animation of the halfling then come back and grovel for forgiveness. It's literally laugh out loud bad.
Again, I'm very much looking forward to this but anyone who thinks the animations and graphics are great is someone who I would question their judgement and their vision.
Looks promising so far, from the early access build to the fact they've been showing plenty of the final game.My only question is: they can deliver? Because that's a really big stake
I actually thought the animations were on par with The Witcher 3. Then again both are years and one generation apart.Given those limitation the animations look fine to me, it will never be a game like the Witcher, where the main character is just Geralt.

Sounds like you should find another game then. This one isn't for you, it would seem.
Every big RPGs, real ones, that have focus on decisions, story and crazy branching stories do not match a game like say, Horizon Forbidden West. Not even Starfield with a lot more budget.
For me, they nailed the look, it's like a tabletop diaporama and pretty much like the CG views of previous cRPG but even better.
Character faces? Who has anything against them?
And as of now, probably the biggest city ever made in an RPG to date
Peoples had the same arguments for Elden Ring honestly and i just don't give a shit, those arguments go out the window. If you're that kind of person that only look at the technical side and not the overall package, well enjoy those cinematic boring 3rd person action open world shitfest of games that dropping every years and GTFO.
this game will most likely surpass it , especially in rpg mechanics
Yo, that Baldurs Gate City looks so fire. Can't wait to get into it.

We don't know, those 17k endings from what the guy in the video said involve multiple combinations of different variations of the endings and world. Kinda like how The Witcher 3 technically has 36 endings, but actually only has 3.im guessing its just text endings??
can we go back to making my playthrough worth it with a cinematic movie or 2?
I rather have like 3, 4 endings and have them animated..
But Larian been good with stories. I was weirdly satisfied with the DOS endings.

Shouldve influenced bethesda, but they trued to damage control...if anyone remembers that haReminds me of cdpr jump from witcher 1 and 2 to witcher 3 which did raise the bar for open world rpgs to the point where an entire generation of assassins creed copied it.
in game cut scene or full blown toy story movie cinematics?Unlikely, there are over 170 hours of cutscenes.

Probably because BG3 is sort of beating them at their own game. You know? The dichotomy of the developer's receptions to this game and Elden Ring compared to Tears of the Kingdom is really fascinating to me.
The first two caused people to go "this is bullshit" while the last one had dev's jaws on the floor. All three are equally ambitious and complex but only one was received with awe and amazement while the others were derided.
Why is that?
Obsidian has been making RPGs for decades and have plenty of experience. They have the backing of a $2.5 Trillion megacorp. No, they aren't an underdog anymore.I mean, Obsidian can be considered kind of an underdog.
But the guy that worked on Diablo 4 is a whole new level of clown.
I guess the expectation is to have 175 hours of cutscenes, 17K different ending variations, 200+ hours of gameplay for completionists, but also it must be done at the fidelity of Naughty Dog or Insomniac titles.Top of the industry? Indeed not.
Bad and dated? Not even close.

Somebody needs to temper their expectations. Game looks really good for the genre.
