Was it always like this?
My impression is Neogaf was more multicultural in the good old days. Now it's easy to say Neogaf is US centric, but it felt different before.

Wow, Norway in 4th place with 4.09% and Sweden (13th) and Finland (14th) without even a percentage. Denmark is not even in the top 20! :messenger_tears_of_joy:
WTF?

(Guess it get's kinda lonely up there, doesn't it?)

So almost 1 user in 26 is French? Wouldn't have guessed... although I knew I wasn't the only one.

EviLore EviLore You should update the first post with the results!

Also: damn, pleasantly surprised by the turnout for the women folk. The modern day forced diversity garbage is nauseating, but even before all that existed, I'd been hoping that our hobby (and the nerdy online discussion of it) included more women than it historically has.

Just from what I see from my sisters, they prefer places where they can also find something else other than gaming. Reddit and Facebook are most adjacent while I've also seen them use Twitter to find gaming news along with their other interest like Kpop. Discord also gets used more often as it is also used for their school work.
That makes sense, I suppose males do take a more singular aproach to things overall.

Thought that shit was over the top until my 12 year-old cousin got a PS4 and her dad set up a PSN account for her that included her name so she could play Fortnite. The shit her inbox got flooded with after a single day made her parents pull the plug on that pretty quickly until I showed them how to filter out messages from people not on her friends list.
Good point there, I wasnt accounting for the weirdos you get online. Infact thinking about it thats probably the main reason for it truth be told

I'd of done the same!

Now I’m interested what information you have specifically about me to fill these stats. I guess we can request this information thanks to GDPR?

I have no doubt GAF will grow into a beast in terms of activity again over the coming years.

There was a period 2-3 years ago it felt a bit silent, but recently its feeling alive like it did back in the day. I get the impression slowly some are finding their way back home.

I'm actually shocked that there's that percentage of women here. You love to see it. Though, I wish it were higher.

Neah I think too many Swedes went purple... Just like IRL..
Well IRL I’m far up north, no purple colors here! …yet

I tried that other place for a bit, nearly turned scizophrenic from having to alter my persona to not get banned. Strange place. There is so much politics I just can’t relate to. And there are traps everywhere!

Just as long as it never gets insanly and controlling thats fine, I was only around during the bad period.

Ahhh, so 77.2% Trans. I was off quite a bit..

In all seriousness though, isnt odd that more females than ever are gamers (we're told) and a majority of females are the key demographic for social 'media' yet on one of the main gaming forums around it's only a small percentage of females..

Are forums seen as a bad thing by females where as instagram/Tiktok (or some other dross) is better?

Seems odd but there you have it.

because this place has a pretty toxic reputation.

Now is there anyway to filter all of the data you shared by only active users?
I have to build metric dashboards as part of my work so this stuff always catches my interest.
