Playing in TATE mode on a CRT. This port is vastly superior to the Dreamcast version just for fact theres a button dedicated to the rolling mechanic. The bullet patterns here are just beautiful to look at - a work of art. Really stunning. Im going to chaulk this one up to one of the most underrated shmups, if not game peroid, of all time. Pretty sure the Japanese OG Xbox got the same port as PS2.

Incredible music as well with the best character select screen tune of all time:

The Fridge is Red demo. The puzzles involving eyeballs and hands with missing fingers were fun. Ultrawide PS1 graphics were more enjoyable than expected. Looking forward to it in September.

Going through PS3 backlog and replaying some shit on ps5-

Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY - I really liked Batman Forever on Snes when I was like 7 years old. Haven't played a Batman since but this one seems pretty good. Why is square enix involved??

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (2010) - speeding while listening to pendulum is based

Resistance 3 (replay) - i thought this was awful intially but then I raised the difficulty and it's actually good

Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition (replay) - Based and Nero pilled. V is terrible. Mash square and triangle for S ranks. I finished it last year, I want to do it again on higher difficulty before switching to Virgil

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (ps4, replay)- i freakin loved Uncharted on ps3. I played 4 and Lost Legacy and thought those were awful games. I was curious if I hated the series now or if it was just 4 and LL that sucked. I can now confirm the original 3 Uncharted games are great

I've played that game twice and I'm still not sure how V is supposed to work lol. Button mashing works, yeah, but for a game that's about doing cool combos and being stylish, it's quite shitte.

Still, amazing game.

As far as I'm aware, you just press triangle and square at the same time, very fast repeatedly. It is shite, it's the worst thing about an otherwise good game.

Bought this on sale as I really actually enjoyed The Division a lot. I put a lot of time in it to, and it was the game I gravitated towards after getting tired of Destiny. Ended up being way more fun as a solo player.

Liking this a lot so far. I think my only 'gripe' is that I much preferred the New York setting and ambiance compared to this game and the more vibrant Washington setting. Just found Division 1 a bit more immersive to play.

This feels way more refined though compared to the first, and there seems to be a lot more to do.

Cyberpunk and its glorious. So I tried a few times in the past to play it and just got bored. Only because I would just roam the city and not do much else. Plus I was waiting for the game to be "complete" before really wanting to dive in. It may not be complete now, but I wanted to play it anyway. Only this time using the city as a background with little moments of exploration while doing missions. Which I also try to foot it from one place to the next. Just so I don't miss out on the incredible details of the city. So far I have only done the main story up to the first Maelstrom mission (which was pretty intense). All NCPD missions are done in Watson (for now). I am working on Reginas gigs and Psychos. No complaints there and I like that that there is different approaches to any of these. The shards also help give story to the missions/psychos/gigs, which is nice. The only minor complaint I would have so far, because of the incredible looking city with all of its nooks and crannies, I wish there was more interaction. On the other hand, I wouldn't even know what that would entail. Just the visuals and mysteries of the place is a treat in itself. Plus the missions are good/detailed and enough to keep busy. So far anything outside of what's here would be icing on the cake.

I'm trying to finish off Plague Tale: Innocence but the final battle is driving me mad.

And just after I wrote this post, I tried again and did it first time. Fantastic game.

Black Mesa. Everyone 16+ should be playing that game. So far I have been blown away by the atmosphere. I had already played Half-Life and really liked it but this is something else. Some moments are awesome: I had goosebumps when I put on the suit, because of the music that starts and the suit itself booting up. So well done. And that was only the beginning.

Imagine if the npc's had the same kinda life to them as what's found in Rdr2 ...I feel like rdr2 is the gold standard for interaction in an open world. They must have put so much time and effort into the npc's and recording insane amounts of context appropriate dialog.

I don't even like DMC that much, I have no love of character action games, but V was actually miserable to play as. I don't want to play the game by proxy!

I've been *trying* to play Stranger of Paradise and, while it's a good game, I keep wishing I was playing Nioh 2 (one of the best games ever made fyi). There isn't quite enough to the game to make me feel involved, but there's just enough that I want to keep playing... except every time I close the game I don't really feel like opening it again for a few weeks.

Finished mass effect 2. Now slowly going over part 3. Still have to read a lot of lore though. Going through Mass Effect its taking me months but its worth it. I am even considering playing Andromeda.

What time is it?
I started playing Gun on my Steam Deck. The structure of the game feels really old but you have to remember that was a PS2 era game. It does highlight one of my bigger issues with the Steam Deck when it comes to older games. The community does a good job of custom layouts but figuring out what button does what and the fact that the games weren't built with a controller in mind just leads to a very suboptimal experience. The aiming speed is ridiculously fast by default and even turning it way down, it just never feels right. I'm sure things can be tweaked but it kills the pickup and play nature of the device.

I also started Silent Hill Downpour on the XSX. I got through the prologue and then got back to my house before quick resume failed on me and I had to reload my save in the prologue. First impressions weren't great and I'm not sure I'll return any time soon.

I also played through Dead Space 2: Severed DLC. Never played it before. It was mostly fine but incredibly short which makes upgrading your gear feel kind of pointless. I also got to chapter 3 of the main campaign.

Just finished all achievements for Final Fantasy II Pixel Remaster on Steam Deck.

FF2 has always been my least favorite, but this version makes it much more enjoyable. It's way easier and they've tweaked it enough that you don't need to resort to cheesy leveling tactics.

The random encounter rate is still too high, but battles are much faster with the auto battle at double speed. The game even gives you exact maps on the dungeons in game, so you don't get lost. Oh, and you can save anywhere and it autosaves on every floor. Helps with cheap deaths when mobs turn your party to stone or something.

Now, onto 3. I've only ever played the DS 3D Remake (which is great), so I'm excited to finally play a 2D pixel version of the game.

finished elden ring a couple weeks ago. about 250 hours, level 190-200. have dark souls remastered up on the pc now, never played it. also been going back and playing re5 mercenaries a little bit. as i have played that game more than any other in my life lol. excited for ds1

Jamming around on my modded SNES Mini

Just tried Captain Commando for the first time. It rips every single aspect off from the Turtles Arcade game

Also did a bit of Secret of Mana. Seems like a super bland Link to the Past rip off

Give it a bit longer. Once you get a few elementals and some more weapons (and level them up a bit), and when the story starts opening (along with Flammie) up you'll have a great time. Greater in scope and depth than LTTP and my all time GOAT.

So, I thought Cyberpunk was already for sale. I'm behind the times, having only a Switch for a current console. So, is it out for sale, or are you a reviewer with access to it somehow?

Huh? Do you think it's glorious or are you bored with it? You said both which is kinda weird

Edit: Ok, I think I get what you're saying now

I started robotech battlecry today. I woke up like after noon with my brain totally fried (had to have an energy drink in the middle of the night to complete road trip), set up the ps2, and started the game.

So I fumbled through the first level of so. Went right by. Game has hardly started. Then the first boss came along. This fight was suddenly unbelievably difficult.

So I put the controller up and down as I took breaks to sluggishly clean this or eat that. Before I know it the whole day had gone by and was still stuck on that boss. So I set it to easy and beat it lol. You can change the difficulty as you play so maybe that was a crazy spike and I can bump it back up to medium.

I was gonna be useless today no matter what and I didn't even have the focus to sit down and commit to a bigger game. So this game was nice to go back to on and off throughout the day.

It's a old school simple vehicle-sim, dogfighting game. Ace combat, warhawk, that kind of thing. I haven't played anything like that in a long time.

Transforming your fighter works. It keeps the game from feeling totally generic and I feel like I need to use it and I'm free to decide when. The downside is that the performance is not great and the controls feel sluggish.

The game might be most remembered for the cell shaded graphics and the do look legit. The soundtrack is there too and that was nice as a fan of the show.

I'll play more later. Wife is playing elden right now

Still playing BOTW. I've been playing it (and not much else) on and off for about 6 months. It's just so good. Visuals on the Switch (I have the OLED model but I play on the TV so whatever) are absolute garbage and I have to fight the temptation to play it emulated on PC via CEMU but I spend most of my day on the PC for work and it's nice to go into the lounge and play on Switch via the TV (or play B.O.T.W. on the toilet while I'm having a massive D.U.M.P.).

In between, I've been playing the shit out of the Metroid Dread demo. I'm not good with those types of games (I get frustrated and give up easily), so I wanted to force myself to power through and beat the demo before deciding if I want the game. I think I definitely want the game after all.

Finished Deliver Us the Moon. Fun little distraction, but mostly a walking sim with some light puzzles. The final part seems to have issues on PS5, however, as it was really, really, REALLY hard! Looking up videos of how others did it, the PC gamers finished the section with way more available time (30 seconds vs 1 or 2...!).

About to start Elden Ring.

Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando (PS3 R&C Trilogy HD). The game was fairly challenging and then I grinded bolts for like an hour and bought the RYNO II, and all the other good weapons and armor. Now I'm flying through it. Heard the Yeti planet is savage. Wonder if that's without the RYNO II

I just started Cyberpunk 2077 and, I gotta say, this game is fantastic! (v.1.52 on PS5)
It's as if someone said, "Let's make Deus Ex bigger and better". POOF! You have Cyberpunk 2077.
(my only minor gripe I have with it is the cheezy dialogue. I'm playing as a female. The dialogue between the characters is like watching an action B-movie with washed up actors.)

Awesome game! Can be pretty tough though. The escort missions are the worst. The rest is top notch though, and all the veritech fighters are fun as hell to fly. Best Robotech game I’ve played by far.

I'm totally digging it but it looks like my little ps2 is finally dying! Seems to be the laser module. I'll have to send it in.

It has an odd quality to it...Robotech Battlecry. It has many great ideas yet the execution in the gameplay isn't that polished in the campaign...my favorite part is the training, and music of the game...but yea, it's still an awesome 2000s era game despite it's flaws

Yakuza 5.

Finished Saejima's chapter. I loved it, it's well paced, has cool minigames and the story is great, although it's not short on weird twists but hey, it's Yakuza.

Onto the next chapter, now I'm playing as an idol.

I finished 3 & 4 over the past few months... got to Yakuza 5... I think I might be burnt out, I'm finding 5 pretty bad. I'm on the last Kiryu chapter. I heard if you like side content the game is contender for best in the series, but I'm mainly playing for story

Did you played them not too long ago? I'm trying to space out those games as much as possible, think I beat 4 in april or so.

I'm liking it, but it's true that I Iove the side content of those games. If I were in just for the story I think I'll be pissed too, since I think most of my playtime has been either driving a taxi or hunting deers in the mountain. :goog_relieved:

It certainly feels different than previous titles in that regard. Hope this idol section doesn't drag for too long, not sure if I'm going to enjoy all this j-pop stuff.

Started Slime Rancher on a whim and I gotta say...this game is super addicting.

Starting to get some good Largo combos and raking in the cash. Day 15 or so and taking my time. I just unlocked the lab and now it's getting even more complex.

Just started Forza Horizon 5 on PC... almost quit that bitch. The stupid steam controller bug had hard locked Left Stick as steer and camera. It almost did me in, it was unplayable.

Diablo 2: Resurrected, perfecting my bowazon strafer build. I'm basically at the end-game which is the "hunt" (grinding) to improve the build and the economy (trading, finding good deals, etc.).

The current ladder is going to end this month, so i'm going to continue perfecting the bowazon on non-ladder once its transfered, and start a good sorceress build on the next ladder. There's going to be a bunch of new stuff and bug fixes, fuck, the team handling D2R is the best thing Blizzard currently has.

I don't think i'll be playing anything else for a few months, god damn game is endlessly replayable, especially at the slow pace i'm going through it.

I'm amazed by the sublime art direction, character/enemy animation, and depth of the mechanics.
I've only really dabbled (300 hours is a dabble in MH terms I'm assuming) with Monster hunter world, so I'm keen to rectify that.
