People are complaining about paying $8 for Superstar Saga and Advance Wars?

Please, GAF. Please.

The original Advance Wars is extremely outdated. I wouldn't be happy paying that much for it.

I think I'll eventually pick up every game except the Kirby ones. I'm still holding out hope that Nintendo and SquareEnix will get SNES Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy II and III out. Japan has had some of those for nearly 9 months now.

I almost said $60 so the joke would be funnny

But i really believe they would charge $25 for gc games, and thats not funny
No way. GC games, at max, would be $20, and I think $15 or so is more likely. Nintendo, IMO, has been doing pretty well pricing their VC content thus far, with some exceptions.

No multiplayer? B-b-but I thought Nintendo wanted to achieve perfect emulation? Kirby & the Amazing Mirror is going to suck without it.

The exaggeration continues...

It's not an exaggeration. They're still charging $4.99 for NES Baseball in 2014, when you can find better equivalents on the App Store for free.

I hope this isn't merely a " launch cluster" and that they keep up the (still disappointing) pace. I'm in for Advance Wars, WarioWare and SMB3.

Whereas I think OG Advance Wars the best one.

I don't agree with that. Galaga is like $5 and you could get the Namco collection for $15 on Amazon and that includes Galaga + 13 other arcade games.
So you think Galaga should be a dollar then?

Comparisons to collections are tricky, since collections are cheaper per game due to requiring a bigger initial investment.

As I said, for the most part. Sports games and puzzle games are the exceptions. Oh, and Urban Champion, because that game is trash.

Cool, I finally get to play Advance Wars, Mario and Luigi, and Golden Sun. Day one for me.
Also 8 bucks is too much for a GBA game? Really guys? 8 seems like a pretty fair price, especially considering some of these games are hours and hours long.

How can anyone be surprised or disappointed by these prices? They are completely in line with Virtual Console Prices since the launch of the WIi.

Did anyone actually believe GBA games were going to be cheaper than NES and SNES games?

Sony sells PS1 games for $5.99. I just bought GTA IV for less than $5 and Vice City for less than $3. $8 for a GBA port is a rip off.

It should be, at max, $3. I just checked my phones app store and they have a version of Galaga with updated graphics for free.

There's no way Nintendo should be charging $5 for a 25 year old version of a game when Namco themselves are willing to update it and give it away for free.

Overpriced, will stick with playing on my GBA or DSi.
Pricing doesn't bode well for the elusive GC emulation pricing.

The prices for these games are quite a rip-off. I just checked the PSN prices for Final Fantasy VII and IX and they are $9.99.

Comparing that to a $7.99 GBA game... egh...

EDIT: I understand that PS1 games are older than GBA games, but still, prices. I'll probably still buy Advance Wars + more when it comes out, haha.

It's not like GBA games are half a game or a pos cellphone game. I wonder if people know that GBA games are newer than PSOne games..

I mean don't get me wrong, I'd buy a lot more VC games if they were cheaper, but these prices are exactly what I would expect.

Nintendo overpricing content? Shocking. Still baffles me why Nintnedo doesn't get called out for their greed.

I've seen them called out by many gaming publications and people on GAF. Not sure where this is coming from.

Plus, is anybody really forcing you to buy these?

Superstar Saga's lowest price for a used copy on Amazon is around $11. Advance Wars is $13.49. How is this a ripoff? I mean, Nintendo could have realistically put Earthbound on Wii U for $20 and many still would have bought it. They didn't. It does go both ways.

Except maybe Super Mario World (since you know, snes version), they are all EASILY worth the prices they are asking

I was hoping it would be here during the launch of GBA VC.

I might get Advance Wars, but I'm not sure. Anyword on multiplayer for some of these games? (Probably none I'm sure)

I would really hope they would figure out, since they are doing these through emulation, the emulation of a GBA link cable. Have some player hosted servers accessible through Miiverse, bring that feel of local multiplayer to the masses. But I'm not counting on it.

I wanna be mad about $8, b/c it is pricy in today's market of iOS games and Humble Bundles, but I've paid more for used, and worse, GBA games at Gamestop, so it's hard to get too worked up.

So many tight-asses on GAF. 8 dollars for some of these games is better value than half of the shit that gets released on a weekly basis in 2014.

I really hope Super Mario Advance 3 being the only release that last week of April isn't a sign that the GBA VC will quickly lose momentum.
Still, will probably pick up Mario & Luigi once I re-purchase a Wii u when Smash comes out. No desire on most of the others, largely due to already having them from being an Ambassador. But luckily Nintendo has cross-buy so my VC purchases will transfer! Oh wait...

edit n64 games were $10

Still, i wouldnt be surprised if gc games were at $20, which isn't too bad

THIS

and then people will go "oh why nintendo don't release more metroid games ???" .... BECAUSE YOU COULD NOT PAY THE PRICE OF A MACDONALDS LUNCH TO PLAY METROID

Do ambassadors get the WiiU version of their GBA games for free? That'd be a nice move by Nintendo if so, but I doubt it'll happen.

Many of these titles are far better games than the majority of nonsense that gets released at 30 ~ 60 dollars on modern consoles. I seriously question the taste of anyone who thinks Metroid Fusion is worth less than 8 dollars.

Prices are completely fair. They're in line with current SNES VC prices. That makes sense.

Nintendo wasn't just going to release these games for less than GB and NES games. That'd be really odd. The problem is that the entire pricing structure needs an overhaul with all games dropping a couple of bucks, most particularly first-gen NES titles. It's probably too late though since many players have already purchased at the current prices.

I'm not interested in Kirby or F-Zero and while I sold off Superstar Saga, I have no inclination to buy it again (even though it's fantastic and arguably the best Mario RPG title). The rest I still have carts for and a DS Lite to play them.

Still, very good lineup for the first month in my opinion.

Cool to see WarioWare. I wonder if they'll be able to do Twisted as well, with the Gamepad Gyro sensor emulating the one in the original cart.

Or they've bought Metroid. They got Metroid for free for an Ambassador program too. They don't want to pay $8 just to play it again.

Weren't they charging $10-15 for n64 games. If that is the case, then $20-25 for gamecube games sounds pretty realistic

N64 was 10 to 12, with 12 being games that had to be Localized because they were never released in the west. We're prolly going to be looking at 12-18 for DS and Gamecube Games.
