bleh, hate teasers. Was that Peter Russo's bald head? I say, his shiny cranium is practically everywhere

The first GOTG teaser was great, not sure what you're talking about. It established the tone really well with the "Starlord." "...who?" and the lineup introduction of characters, and then somehow used the beat from Hooked on a Feeling to start legit hype music for the end of the trailer.

It's honestly one of the most memorable trailers from the last few years for me.

The jack in the box middle finger was great.

The CG looks somewhat cheap and the production values seem kind of low, I feel like Arrow is able to have similar production values despite being a show.

Also being in 16:9 instead of 22:9 isn't helping.

My guess is that they want to emphasize the vertical shrinking/growing powers of Ant-Man, which is why they went with the taller 1.85:1 aspect ratio instead of the wider 2.35:1 ratio.

It was Wright's idea to use Lang instead of Pym.

Yes, every draft of Wright's script featured Pym passing the torch to Lang.

Trailer did nothing for me at all but I expect them to spice things up in the future, might get my expectations up otherwise I'll probably be skipping this one.

I don't think they've had long to work on the CG since they only finished filming in December. The ant looks kinda funny but I think it will look better come June.

I didn't come to any sort of conclusion. I made a prediction. I said that I thought he'd be a weak link. I'm done arguing about this, because frankly nothing in this trailer merits any kind of lengthy debate.

"Certainly thinking" is another way of saying "I conclude".

Didn't get me hyped because I got myself worked up about seeing him use the power in cool, useful ways such as running, shrinking, running under the door, expanding, running again and seeing fight footage that looks similar to the SDCC thing from way back.

I'm sure those bits are in there but still.

So, uhm, the pallette looks nice?

My biggest issue with the trailer is that all the pre-trailer news was about how this is a "MARVEL heist flick" in the same way gotg was a "space opera" and CAP2 was a "political thriller" and thor 2 was whatever the fuck that was. How come this Ant_Man trailer shows nothing about a heist?

Ya know, the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced this trailer was rushed out the door to promote Agent Carter. Thanks, lady.

Ya, was really hoping to see some of that. I thought GoG was going to be meh, and ended up loving that movie, so im reserving judgement (trying to anyways) .

Looking good. A Marvel heist movie about a dude that can shrink and control ants is one of the best concepts I've ever heard.

This got greenlit before a Kung Fu super hero who uses the mystic power of an elder God as a form of martial arts and who has to kill a dragon with his barehands to gain that power to face his enemies? Seriously?

This trailer looked bleh. Should've made an Iron Fist movie.

I know literally nothing about Ant-Man and this trailer didn't really sell me on the concept.

Didn't really demonstrate why it's cool / useful for someone to shrink down to ant size and fly on a bug, just looked kinda stupid to be honest.

Iron Fist will get his own series on Netflix, along with Luke Cage, Daredevil and Jessica Jones. This movie has been in development for the last EIGHT YEARS thanks to Wright.

when you hear a heist film, usually you had certain expectation for things like recruiting the group or scene planning the heist, or what they're trying to steal etc. none of that is featured in the trailer, so he does have a valid point about this didn't look like a heist film at all.

but I do like the focus on the daughter relationship because that is something new we haven't seen before in MCU.

not giving up on the movie just yet. will wait for trailer 2. and the few action shot they had do looks cool imo.

Ant-Man is a founding Avenger, no one gives a shit about Iron Fist.

Instead of getting 2 hours of Iron Fist, you're going to be getting 13 hours.

Eh, with Avengers 2 only acouple months prior to Ant-Man's release? That makes the most sense for when we'd see the next trailer.

Marvel is calling this a teaser, so I don't think the next trailer is going to be 4 months away. They'll probably have something in March, maybe when Agents of SHIELD returns, and another trailer in May with Avengers. Gotta keep the marketing rolling, these days people have short attention spans!

Kevin Feige talks Ant-Man

Like it did with the misfit crew of last year's Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel introduces another unlikely hero to the mainstream — when film audiences first meet Scott Lang, he's walking out of prison. Yet Ant-Man is "one of the most surprisingly emotional" movies in the Marvel canon, says producer Kevin Feige. Lang has committed crimes that estrange him from his wife and 4-year-old girl, and Pym seeks a similar redemption with his own daughter (Lilly). "Hank Pym invented the Ant-Man technology, went on many adventures and is now much older and trying to recruit a new person,'' says Feige. "It's the first film we've made in which the story is about a torch being passed, essentially."

Maybe that's why the teaser was more serious in tone than most people expected.

Huh. With a character like Ant-Man I would've expected it to be much more comedic in tone such as more comical action scenes with the size changing, or just playing around with the absurdity of a character who talks to and rides ants.

Also unrelated, but I find it interesting that it seems Pym recruits Scott and gets him out of prison in the movie unlike Scott's original origin which was stealing the Ant-Man suit from Pym.

Maybe he is in prison for trying to steal from Pym?

Looking good, if not a bit on the over serious side. I got a laugh out of both of Rudd's lines. Totally expected the "Huh?" line to be this trailer's "Who?" but that's ok.

Yup, loved the hell out of this trailer.

And at the time I figured the Hooked on a Feeling thing would just be for the trailer lol, like so many trailer only songs, so glad that wasn't the case with how they did the music.
