The Game Awards 2015 Thread: Keighley's Last Supper

Hello, I'm from the year 2008 and I wanted to show you guys some of these cool new games.

Clearly games will continue to look the same in 2015.

Did you post a picture of Gears of War remaster? Not sure that supports your argument

EDIT: now I'm realizing all these are old games, I'm not sure what argument you're making now

My breakdown of the show:

-Witcher 3 dev reaction was hilarious
-I honestly thought Jade Raymond would finish the "voice of snake" line with "Keifer Sutherland", was genuinely amazed she just said "David Hayter", not giving a fuck.
- Psychonauts 2 announcement was surprising...and then reading it up later I was like "wait...this is the launch of a crowdfund?", I'm sure this game will make its mark and get made, just I dunno..launching a crowdfunding campaign and using it as an event is just..weird.
- I was glad to see Her Story getting some awards, I'd almost forgotten that game came out this year, but it is very deserving of the awards it got.
- I liked Joosten's performance of Quiet's theme, although I was sure Donna Burke would follow up with Sins of the Father
- Apparently I need to play Witcher 3, still have not touched that game, have never played any Witcher games, then again, I still haven't played DA:I which won last year's GOTY for TGA so hmm.
- I think the tribute to Iwata was touching, and also the Industry Icon award and talking up the legacy of Castle and Sperry was my jam, those guys were responsible for 1/3rd of my childhood gaming.
Edit: Almost forgot to mention, #FucKonami. Having Geoff come out and publically say a fucking lawyer prevented Kojima from collecting the award personally was a massive middle-finger to a company that could not give the slightest bit of a shit for their reputation anymore.

Overall, alright show.

Yes, I have to say this year was very impressive. In my opinion other industry award shows could learn a thing or two about personal tribute to people in the community.
[I don't watch Oscars or anything much anymore though...]

But this year felt pretty genuine to me, and I appreciate it.

I was just joking about how games now-a-days don't look anything like they did when the brown and gray criticism was true.

In the screenshots that I posted, you can look at their sequels and see they now have colors.

Fallout 4 is colorful, Gears stopped being brown and gray in Gears 2 and it just got more colorful in 3, Blops 3 is very colorful and GTAV is crazy bright and colorful.

You'd be hard pressed to actually find a very dull, brown and gray game in 2015.

Ah, I thought you were supporting the opposite argument. I agree that the grey/brown fad is fading these days.

Ouch.

I thought the job Keifer did in MGSV is excellent though.

No one is denying that, she started off by talking about what makes a character iconic and David Hayter's voice definitely contributed to making Snake iconic.

+it was just a friendly jab and a joke.

I would like to go on record as denying that.

Kiefer was a mistake that seemed to hamstring the story given they had to write around him either not being available (or too expensive) to record.

Has anyone posted a list of what the 10 exclusives were? Missed the awards to due to time zones and when it was on etc.

Wow...I just looked at the list of winners. I gotta say I disagree with most of the choices. A lot of superior choices for nominees weren't even on there.

While I don't see the appeal of Witcher 3 or Splatoon, I don't think they should've won as much...however the massive fanbase for each makes it a valid choice...I still think Rocket League got robbed on best multiplayer (easily the most fun I've had with a multiplayer game in a long time) but eh.

Clearly I am not the right demographic for these events.

(For the record, I'm not saying Witcher 3 is bad. It's a great game with high quality. I just can't seem to enjoy it even though I own all 3 witcher games. Can't get into them)

Also, was it just me or was the best art direction category the most obvious thing ever? Ori is the only game that looks unique of the nominees.

Glad to see Gregg win the trending gamer award, other than total biscuit he was the only one there that didn't seem like an insufferable over reacting youtuber which I can't stand. Gregg is manic at times that isn't the only side of him like many others seem to be.
