Surprisingly. A bunch of times today I think Wolf Blitzer of all people asked questions to surrogates to essentially hang themselves later on. Kept pushing that female Trump surrogate, and boy did she provide the rope to hang herself.

Yep, any pundit pushing the "rules of engagement" bullshit need to be shut down. A guy on Anderson Cooper last night tried the same argument.

A Trump campaign source, in reax to this, tells me "it's all true" and "way worse than people realize."

Hillary needs to run the Children ad here in Utah. I guarantee Utahans would eat that up. I see it on CNN sometimes, but she needs to push it here.

I think I'm gonna go canvas for Hillary. Utah has god awful turnout, and I'm betting especially so this election, so a few more votes could tip the election here. I want to rub it in Trump's face as much as possible, make it as big a landslide as possible.

You're doing God's work.

And the Queen's work. Especially the Queen's work.

IRS rules bar @realdonaldtrump's foundation from involvement in campaigns. Here's a Fdn check w/ campaign slogan.

Wow. At least to an election lawyer that merits a "wow."

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...ng-his-charity-as-a-political-slush-fund.html

The Trump Foundation, Donald Trump’s nonprofit organization, is under fire for allegedly operating as more of a political slush fund than a charity. The foundation is accused of violating rules prohibiting it from engaging in politics—prompting ethics watchdogs to call for public investigations.

On numerous occasions this year, Trump’s campaign work and his foundation work have overlapped—putting himself at risk for penalties and his charity at risk of being shut down.

Wonder if anything is going to happen with this...

Dammit, I'm getting terrified that there's an eject coming. Things weren't supposed to be this disastrous after the conventions. The meltdown was supposed to start around the debates. Well, the Olympics should take some heat off. Clinton should go off the grid and relax for the full 2 weeks. I'm sure Kaine and all the A-tier surrogates can manage the important things.

What are the rules regarding "ticket" election laws after the parties have officially certified their candidates? Can you officially get that changed on a ballot in X amount of time? In other words, what's the absolute last day that Trump could try to make a move and his name still be stuck on the top of every ballot? I assume this varies slightly by state. This date is extremely important now!

Was it posted? I'm sorry, I'm on vacation. I am high on fudge and Arnold Palmers. I can't be held responsible.

In other news, Trump has never voted before.

“If you don’t have voter ID, you can just keep voting and voting and voting,” Trump told The Post.

I voted for the first time ever in person and it is really easy to see how voter fraud is essentially stamped out. Now of course in the case of TX, the ID thing is stupid, but other than that, your sticker is removed.

So once it is, there wouldn't be a way to vote again. It's impossible. And even if it was possible, it would be so incredibly inefficient and would have no real bearing on the actual outcome.

I am annoyed that getting a FL absentee ballot is much easier than a TX one. Oh well. I guess early voting again it is for me!

Remember the whole fire marshal shenanigans?

The problem with Trump’s charges? His own senior campaign staff officials were fully aware and had agreed in writing that the Trump event in Columbus was to be restricted to a maximum of 1,000 people, according to documents signed on Friday, July 29, between the Trump campaign and Columbus Convention Center for the Monday event, and obtained by Politico.

The documents, provided by Columbus Convention Center officials and the city fire department, show that senior Trump officials agreed to the terms four days prior to Monday’s event.

The “event acknowledgement” document was agreed to by senior Trump campaign official John Hiller on July 29 and specified a maximum attendance of “800+ media (not to exceed 1,000 per Fire marshal and contract).” The document states the terms of the “by invitation” Trump “Town Hall” event was “Fire marshal approved.”

The July 29 contract to secure the event space was signed by both Greater Columbus Convention Center General Manager John Page and Donald Trump for President Treasurer Timothy Jost, with each page of the document initialed by Jost.

The documents directly contradict the account that Trump gave to reporters on Monday, when he said: “The fire marshall said he is not allowed to allow any more even though the building holds many thousands of people. I will just tell you that it is politics at its lowest. You ought to check it out. But it is really politics at its lowest. So that is for political reasons they have been turned away,” Trump told reporters.

Oh, and the Fire Marshal is a Republican, not Democrat.

In fact, a check of the Colorado voter registration database, available through the Colorado secretary of state’s office, shows that Lacey has been a registered Republican since 1993.

When is the deadline for filing for getting on the ballot? At some point soon, any recourse would have to be write-in. Which obviously would not work at all.

There seemed to be a decent amount of indignation about this here in CBus this morning. I'm sure this is like #70 on the current list of Trumpisms imploding his campaign, but it definitely upset some people.

I KNOW!

This is cray-cray. I mean, if the IRS gets involved maybe. The FEC wouldn't do shit.

Yup, it seems like a pretty easy investigation since you already know both parties involved. The only thing you need to check up on is if the moron who framed that check and put it on his wall actually received a check from the Trump Foundation and is not just making stuff up.

Hard to imagine why he would though considering that he is clearly a GOPer

I wondered this before and looked into it--there isn't clear information about your specific question. I suspect if Trump dropped out too close to the election to get his name off the ballot, Congress might delay the election.

In terms of replacing the candidate though, the RNC would likely vote for his replacement.

LOL. Kelly basically shit on Pierson and Fox just cut her off because she kept trying to claim Donald attacked no one referring to Khan.

Megyn Kelly got no time for that bullshit.

My friend brought this up to me today and had me wondering. What happens if Trump like just died from high blood pressure before election day?

Does Trump/Pence stay on the ticket with the notion that Pence would be sworn in as president and pick a new VP?

Huelskamp going down is encouraging. Even (some factions of) the base is sick of these goddamn shenanigans.

It's a Safe R district, but taking someone out of the Freedom Caucus and getting a more traditional establishment Congressman would be for the better.

I know I've made one or two Trump OT threads before but something really has to be done here. There are 8! Trump threads in the first page of OT right now.

Updated at 8:30 p.m.: Media asked to leave Huelskamp election party

Updated: U.S. Rep. Tim Huelskamp’s campaign has asked all media to leave its election night watch party in Hutchinson.

Campaign volunteer Steven Howe told members of the media that it is a private party, and that campaign staff will let reporters know when the congressman will be available.

Howe says it is “out of respect for the congressman until we know more.”
