Watch Dogs Legion Xbox Series X vs RTX 3080 Ray Tracing 4K Early Graphics Comparison

You know, visual fidelity in videogames have become pretty great when all we can bitch about is the resolution of a reflection in a reflective surface. It should also be pretty obvious that one shouldn't compare an unobtainable $700 GPU (that is more like $1000/€950) to a complete $500 box. I would fucking hope that the more expensive option performs better.

Looks good on either end, pity the characters in this game you play as are way duller than the pretty landscape

A 2080ti console would be insane! That’s like slightly better than a 3070!!

Barely 2080ti level is more than my current 2070super, pretty good if you ask me :ROFLMAO:

also WD3 is shitty optimized everywhere, it's like judging blowjobs by using a vacuum cleaner.

A few more comparisons. Even on YT the difference is pretty obvious, also, I'm not shitting on XSX, see my previous posts.

Serious question: is this VRS in action? Whatever it is, it looks bad tbh:

I'm telling you. It is too early for XSX's bigger boasts. 4k60? Too early. RT? Too early.

It will happen - they will make these techniques more efficient, and figure out a way for them to work retroactively on the XSX. Eventually we will get a game that looks better than last gen, but unless they reject 4k and focus on 1440p with Sony style upscaling and stuff, their games will look awful.

Yikes, that sky in the night scene...

"Barely 2080Ti level" for a new gen console in 2020, with a 3.8 GHz Zen 2 CPU + a 12TFLOPS RDNA 2 GPU + 1TB NVME M.2 SSD + 16 GB GDDR6 RAM + Motherboard + 4K Blu-Ray drive + PSU + Input device + Case + OS + HDMi 2.1 cable, all those for a $500 MSRP, is actually insane value, OP.

Also, I don't think you understand the cost of RT, or how much of a giant leap it is over traditional rasterization in the world of 3D graphics.

Edit: forgot RAM and 4K Blu-Ray drive
You aren't listening. That is not the series x version

that looks good to you? it looks next gen? where is the lie?

you're too nice to these corporations. the game looks abysmal.

Why am i to nice to these corps, i shit on them all the time, no interest in next gen, all the games look uninspired and boring, all this focus on fidelity is killing the industry, take some risks and make new game mechanics and gameplay instead of focusing on pushing pixels to win me back. Just called you out on a low effort troll post.

The frame pacing with the 3080 is real bad. I'd go with the Series X version even with the lower frame rate and worse reflections.

Thread backfire.

Also this isn't even the next gen patched version. No one has access to that yet. So it can only improve, which is pretty impressive. Xsx and PS5 are massive leaps over current gen.
It's the version that Ubisoft put up running on the series X so it's got the next gen stuff going, there would be no RT otherwise. That being said anyone who expects a $500 console to perform at the level of a $700 card is crazy.

That's how marketing works. There is a day 1 patch coming. Check the WDL reddit and other dedicated forums.

There is a patch coming yes but this is the Series X version with Series X enhancements, they wouldn't make a Series X video otherwise lol. Not only that but there is RT running in the video, there is no RT in current gen. Yes there will be a patch for people who buy the game but they are showing you what that patch is going to add in this video.

Ah ok, I thought it was new review footage. You're right.

Yup, point still stands. Amazing value in these next gen consoles.

Fantastic and how quickly does this boot and does it have quick launch into specific aspects of the game from the OS?

Just wondering cos shiny surfaces isn't really cuttin it for 700 quid.

Also, I wouldn’t really take launch titles as an indication of the Series X’s or PS5’s ray-tracing capabilities. These games are running on current-gen engines and the only reason you’re seeing ray-traced reflections only so far is because that’s the easiest type of RT to implement.

We gotta wait until 2022 at least to see next-gen engines built for these consoles and actually taking full advantage of the new hardware. And remember, ray-tracing for these consoles will definitely mature over the course of next-gen, as improvements are constantly being made to data structures and de-noising algorithms.

I wouldn't say easiest but its the single most attracting implementation, where most of the current tricks failed to do reflections correct. Other things like GI or shadows can be pretty decent with probing or shadow mapping, so not something catch the eyes at first glance.

if you were smart you would know how much detail can be stripped out if you render an already rendered video (XSX RT video) especially if you reupload to youtube
so its not a fair comparison even because if I head into the original video of the XSX the image will definitly be sharper.

Also, just wait until digital foundry vid.
