Wrong. TLOU2 goes to great lengths to improve gameplay over the first game and goes further than most sequels truly do.

I agree with this. TLOU is probably in my top five games of all time. Sometimes I put it as number one, but that fluctuates... and TLOU2 is superior in gameplay in just about every way possible. Now, the reason I loved TLOU wasn't because of its gameplay.. I felt it was sufficient. It certainly worked to Naughty Dog's strengths over Uncharted. But I actually love TLOU2's gameplay.

Ghost of Tsushima is a terrible game. Unless you love tailing missions, stalking missions and follow foot print missions. Also the worse traversal I've seen in a game since horizon... Woeful that people get sucked in so easily be pretty world's and cinematic presentation... This is what that guy means by movie games... Clearly those things take centre stage and spent most time on... The gameplay in Ghost is extremely one note with rock paper scissors combat adding "depth"... Nioh cries.

Ghost of Tsushima does not have good cinematic presentation. It has an extremely forgettable story with forgettable performances and character models with most of the conversations following the same format with a few epic moments sprinkled around the game.

What ghost does have though is great combat mechanics that are second to none in this oversaturation of Assassins Creed - eqsue oopen world games. It's tight, polished, and satisfying.

If you love ND movie games then sure, otherwise no, even though Sony has put out some great content this gen otherwise, including my GOTG in The Last Guardian. Nintendo would take the top spot for me, probably followed by Capcom whose been on fire this gen and was still good in the early 2010's. Bethesda as a publisher is also high up there, especially the games coming out of id Software like the new Doom and Wolfenstein games.

I kinda want to give Wolfenstein (2009) another go. I got motion sick/nauseous playing the first one (well, first being 2009)... and I'm not sure why. That hasn't happened since GoldenEye.

i do agree that the first game's gameplay while being "just good enough" wasn't the strength of the game. Whereas in tlou2, it's a game that allows for many different approaches to encounters with the dynamic AI allowing for experimentation it's great. It also features some of the best level design and fluidity in the genre, with some great human-infected encounters.

Tlou2 has better gameplay over uncharted by far imo they really did step it up from the first game in allowing it to be more expansive and replayable in it's gameplay.

I know its multiplayer is popular, but I've tried it. I put a pretty good amount of time in it. It's... okay. I don't like it as much as something like a Gears of War (any of them).

I don't know if that would change with TLOU2. I think the gameplay works for the sandbox/environment they put you in with the singleplayer, but for me personally I don't think it makes a fun multiplayer (again, I know that's a difference of opinion, so just from my perspective). With TLOU2's multiplayer component/stand alone release not out yet, I'm not judging it yet, but that's just how I see things now. I'll still likely give the multiplayer a try unless it's a full price release or something.

As another example, I love Cyberpunk 2077. I know that's a hot topic right now. But CDPR is supposedly working on a multiplayer component. I'm sure that'll find a fanbase, but it's something I don't really see working out too well because the gameplay in the game doesn't seem well suited for that. But I'll still try it out. With that said, I think Cyberpunk has pretty good gameplay in the actual game. Just not really confident it'll work out as well in multiplayer.

N64 had amazing first party titles that was never matched ever since.

And you can see that sony is always trying to come up with new ips so you ger the sequels but you get all these new ones like ghost and spiderman horizon etc etc.

This os why they are above the competition cuz they try to take risks with detroid and death stranding etc and for that i applaude them . Even if some of those titles are average at best they keep pushing and pushing amd you go from uncharted one that was painfull to uncharted 2 that was a master piece . Or from heavy rain to detroid.

At least sony tries to inovate and experiment where as nintendo wants to play it safe and xbox ...well gamepass is cool and hope they keep their promise with the new ips they develop but they have a long history of dropping games that flop like hot shit or just flat out cancel projects for some reason. Not to be trusted so far but please i hope they prove me wrong

Yes, absolutely fucking yes. They are indeed the best gaming publisher and have been more consistent in reaching these heights than any other company for at least the past half a decade.

You can feel otherwise, and claim X or Y company is better - but it's not going to have as a solid claim than Sony.

Sony occasionally has a really unique game I will remember for generations to come (The Last Guardian) mixed in with a lot of games I find really fun to play but forget about the next week (Spiderman). Sony and Nintendo have been the most consistent publishers the last 6-8 years. Both have put out so many fantastic games. And both should be proud of this. I haven’t loved all the games from both, but can see the consistent quality.

Sony had eyetoy way before kinect.

Sony has psvr though virtua boy was prior.

Then we have sony funding or publishing new ips that turn into new genres such is the case with demon souls that established the future of fromsoftware and created the souls born genre which saw many versions from nioh to surge ever since.

Did sony create the survivor horror genre that was made popular with resident evil or silent hill? I think it did even though it was on saturn as well.

Did sony skyrocket square with ff7 and became the jrpg machine for most if not all jrpgs with the psone?? I think it did.

Cuz no matter how i look at it sony till this day has a diverse library of ips and genres unlike xbox or nintendo.
