Halo Infinite Multiplayer is out NOW

For people having trouble with this game against real players, go play the bots on the default difficulty. Get the feeling for not panicking in a shootout and unloading your whole clip when in reality all you need to do is just fire when you're actually going to hit the person. Trust me, this made all the difference in the world for me. You would be stunned how many players empty their entire clip already, and are looking for some desperate melee attempt, meanwhile because I was more accurate and conservative with my clip, a lot of fights end with me having extra bullets to spare and the other guy is a sitting duck.

You unload or empty your entire clip because you get scared of the fact that the other guy is firing in your general direction and may be hitting you, but remember that this is a game where you have a shield up until they can break it down. What I realized was the key to Halo Infinite MP was stop reacting too crazily and swinging the right analog stick wildly just because you engage with someone. Slowly (as difficult as this may be able to process mid gun fight) put your crosshair where it needs to be and you might be shocked at the outcome. Sometimes that's not possible because they already have you in trouble, and if it continues as is you won't win. But most shootouts tend to be ones you have a legit opportunity to win.

Doing things this way, not wasting bullets and being more careful to slowly align my crosshair on my targets, I end up getting more 2, 3 or even 4 back to back kills. This game is going to be fucking heaven in campaign.
Yup, you just described me! I have always been a panic shooter and just unload a ring of bullets around what I’m trying to hit. I’m getting better at slowing down and actually trying to track my target.

Audio stutters constantly in matchmaking games on my PC. Anyone else? I actually think the game is micro stuttering, but hard to tell.

Gonna try it on my Xbox One X.... lol.

Also there is something really whack with the aiming. I get these random spikes of aim acceleration, and it's way worse if I'm zoomed in with a sniper, and then strafe one direction and turn the opposite. Feels nasty.

I'm not going to discuss this, but you're right. It makes perfect sense given the other stupid shit in the game.

It's obviously a halo thing since no other game is that fucking stupid.
I think Halo 5 added ADS/zoom feature to every gun. Previously only guns, which had a scope could ADS.

I believe it’s around 23gb

Really? Wow impressive, that's a nice small size. Easy get!

I guess I'll download it tomorrow. I assume the game is pretty performance friendly? My PC's pretty good so I'm hoping I can do 4k or 1440 depending on the settings.

Where can I download it?

I am copying what I wrote in another closed thread.

I think that it is clear that the season pass stuff was not ready or I should say that their team working on it is still busy doing other stuff. That is why they have restricted xp gains. They don’t want people blowing through it when the next one is still months away.

Once the content team can concentrate fully on season pass content, and they can release them at a steady pace. XP gains will increase etc

I was going to have a relaxing walk in the park, but no, new Halo free multiplayer is out. I did play a couple of hours and I have to say it seems really fun.

Anyone else noticing some weekly challenges not working? 2 different challenges that require specific weapon kills aren't counting progress for me.

About cross play, I have switched it off in the console settings because of battlefield. Does anyone know if that counts on halo? I.E I don’t want to play against pc players?

You can grab it on Steam for free.

I’m running an i7-9850 + 2070 laptop and getting around 60-80fps on high settings at 1080p. I’ll probably drop them to medium to chase that 120fps but it seems OK so far. Im not blown away by performance though, but my laptop isn’t exactly a super computer so it’s probably to be expected.

Hopefully Nvidia release some optimisations through drivers to give a bit of a boost.

You can say same thing about CoD Warzone and Apex Legends... they're also FPS where you can't see your character and same with Overwatch and Overwatch has some of the best skins.

Also, when your in a vehicle in Halo Infinite you CAN see yourself cause it becomes 3rd person lol.

Also, you see your weapons at all times and Halo Infinite has quite customizable weapons.

People wear cool cosmetics to be seen by others more than wanting to see themselves.

Highly disagree with your opinion man sorry
I play a lot of Apex and pick all my skins based on hand models. Really don't care what the rest of me looks like if I got nice hands.

Not interested in the multiplayer part (I'm too old for that) but I just played one game of "Oddball" and it was rather intense. Got peak performance achievement (whatever that means) but ultimately my team lost.

Game looks super clean and crisp. Beautiful art style and textures.

I can't wait for the campaign now.

I'm too old for the multiplayer also. I give it a go but I'm fully aware I could end up on team whom I piss off with my 5 kills and 15 deaths. I would love a perpetually shite mode, where all us shakey old folks could hang out. Although first to 50 kills might take an hour or 2!

Yup.. Turn (look) deadzone to 1.0-2.0, depending on if you have drift on stick of course. 'Move' deadzone to 5.0 and you're good to go. Adjust sens to what feels good for you - 8.0 felt pretty good for me.
I've been considering whether I should use controller or not ... not because of better aim, but because of all the other controls that seem somewhat unwieldy to use on the keyboard because of how the keys are spread around.

Been years since I got into Halo and I can really see playing a lot of this.
Positives:
  • Mouse and keyboard feels great. I felt it wasn't quite right in the first couple Halo games on PC I tried.
  • Love the vehicular combat. (something I never cared much for in the Battlefield series)
  • The lower Gravity just gives it a different feel than most other shooters
  • Interesting weapons that are a lot of fun. I do wish the starting assault rifle was a bit more competent though
  • Love all the different game modes. Everything from Oddball to big team capture the flag gives it a lot of variety.
  • TTK adds so much more strategy. Cover is important, teammates are important.
  • Man cannons
Negatives:
  • The announcer. Not bad, but what happened to the original voice from the old games?
  • Battlepass is just not very interesting to me. I can get into it on some other games but I just really don't care that much about the unlocks in this. Seems pretty overpriced as well.

There is zero evidence to support this. The team has already made numerous statements about adding other, secondary progression that isn’t tied to BP. Games are actively being ruined by folks just trying to finish their weekly challenges.

This system desperately needs an overhaul. It reeks of greedy F2P design which is utterly unacceptable for a massive console/company defining franchise such as this. Halo 5 was bad with its shitty MTX, but this? This is so much fucking worse.

oh wow really? I thought it was good that they were giving all the maps free and stuff, I didn't know they had some MTX thing going on..

I might give it a go next year then. I haven't really been in the series since those early PC games myself, but worth a shot for free.

I don't get the whole Battlepass thing, I read it has MTX but I thought they had all the maps for free? Is Battlepass like some MTX thing or something?

No offense, but this looks like a college grads passion project compared to Vanguard. Progression, graphics, weapon handling, level design. They're not in the same league. Mind you, this is coming from someone who has adored the Halo franchise, but no amount of rose colored tinting can mask the fact that modern FPSs are 15 years ahead of this. That's not to say you wont have fun with it, but more as a nostalgia trip back to when you used to use tunneling software to play bootleg LAN games with your mates on Halo 1.
Is this guy fricking serious? I swear some of you guys are just ridiculous. Halo Infinite is really fun and polished at an incredible resolution and framerate. Stop telling us how we should feel about a game and go play Vanguard if that's your thing.

My favorite is the ole "I adore the IP, thus you must listen to this point".

Halo and Call Of Duty are just nothing alike even remotely.

Been playing a bit more this morning, so slow crawling to BP L3 lol. Can see BTB where I spend most of my time. I think they've balanced cross play really well, there are some instances in CQC where the acceleration is just not good enough on controller imo, even with the thresholds upped. I haven't even started up BF 2042 after the beta and can see myself not wanting to if I continue with this tbh. I know they aren't technically the same type of game but for me - having one MP FPS on the go is well enough and it does enough to make me want to play it.

I still have to squeeze Horizon in as well, lawd.

Of course there is zero evidence to support this and yes I am aware that they have said that they will overhaul the system. But they ain’t going to admit that this is another thing that is woefully behind schedule

But with all the delays and everything else that has happened, and compared against the MCC season pass intervals and cp gains. Even factoring in f2p greed, there’s no way on this planet that they have implemented this system by design and with a 6mth delay for season 2.

Well IMO of course
