Possible huge pricing error at Gamestop.com | 2 Series S for the price of 1

I feel bad for the employees who are going to either lose their jobs or have to pay back all the costs..

It would surprise me if it came to that. The people involved with preparing and shipping the order will just be doing their jobs in regards to the orders that come in. Whoever handled the setup of this promo might get a good chewing out though.

If people actually get 2 consoles for $310 I'll really be kicking myself for not jumping in. Talk about an easy flip.

It seems ridiculous attacks on the XSS is fair game. Just mentioning that the PS5 has less than 10TF gets an automatic ban calling XSS any sort of pejorative is A-OK. Ah well.
Oh no, how dare people insult pieces of plastic. Mods don't care about pejoratives. They care if you blatantly troll or keep posting incorrect nonsense. You're free to have complaints or disapproval about whatever you like though. Nobody cares.

It doesn’t work like that. It’s likely no one picking these orders saw a price, nor would they care if they did. It’s not their responsibility to even think about.

Whoever did the pricing should have had it tested by multiple people before the sale went live, and it should have been caught. Someone will probably get chewed out over it, but ultimately it was likely a team failure and GS can just write off however many they shipped as a loss. I’d be curious to see how many they actually shipped at the $10 price, I’d be surprised (but not shocked) if it got to the $100k mark in retail.

No employee is going to have to pay anything back. This sort of thing happens occasionally and you just eat it, I work in retail pretty closely with our IT and fulfillment teams and shit happens.

Ask me about my Stream Deck
Saw you ordered around noon in one of your previous posts. Any update? My standalone XSS shipped, but I don't have any sort of status associated with the $10 system (the Fortnite bundle).

I checked the package weight for the one that shipped, and it shows 4 pounds. Getting antsy.
Got an email the full priced one is about to ship, still just order received on the cheap one. I'm optimistic, but who knows.

Anyone get a cancellation yet? The charge has gone through on my card, got an email that it was about to ship, but the status is still preparing to ship.

Got cancelled here for the 299 xbox but the $10 xbox still in process and got send a 3 month gamepass code. Saying right now like $23 for the series s and 3 monthpass.
This happened to my second order i placed. It is showing the full price pending on my account though. The first order the bundle shipped but the plain on is pending.

Actually the second order shows the white one canceled and the bundle as received. And that they plan to charge me 23. I think their going to try and just do the gamepass for that and forget it happened.

The first order the xbox is on a FedEx truck. So I don't think they know what to do. Its the bundle. The white one has pending shipping. They can cancel that buy then I still have my $10 xbox in the FedEx truck that they can't do anything about.

For me the full priced Xbox shipped yesterday. Now the $10 Fortnite bundle is preparing, but I just got another CC charge for $299 and an new email from gamestop with gamepass code. But the new email says I ordered 3 Xbox. Like they added another one to my order so they could charge me for it. Weird stuff.

Go Go Neo Rangers!
The details on both of the charges show both boxes at $299.99 on the CC details.

Im still curious where the $49.75 comes from. Such an odd number

I got the same thing. They changed the total to $630.

I'm waiting for someone here to say they ordered two Xbox Series S consoles and got sent two Xbox Series X consoles. Or maybe a PS5 and a PS5 DE.

Or even two bags of cat food, while some granny some place is wondering how this small, white auto-feeder she received connects to her smartphone ...

Just checked my CC and they charged me 49.57?

The fuck is going on over there lol.

They really are falling apart over there, probably a crazy amount of orders over BF. Will be interesting to see if any of you guys fall through the cracks and get the deal.

That's what I want to know.

It just doesn't seem right. I would have thought they would have just canceled them and maybe sent you an apology email with $5 or $10 in store credit. I got $25 from Walmart when they oversold a batch of XSS systems they had and canceled my order.

Mine are still shipped but have both carriers sitting on we'll update tracking information when the package arrives to the facility

So uhh, they emailed me a code for 3 months of game pass and then sent me this 🤔

They shipped 0 items? The total says $323. So I logged in to the site and saw this....

And there is a pending $336 charge on my payment account. I honestly don't know what to expect at this point, but I feel like I'm going to get 1 console (at a price I don't want it at).

So mine shows the second console as cancelled and the first as $9.99. I received an email with a digital code that says I have two Fortnite and Rocket League bundles shipping later. I haven't received an additional charge yet, but I suspect they'll try and charge me for it if it actually ships.

Edit: mine looks like the one above.

Yep, that's what happened to me as well. They added a third Series S to my order and charged another $300 for it.

How is that possible, if you during checkout just authorized a charge of $340 or whatever. How can they just change the amount?

They can't and if they try to pull that you can file a dispute with your credit card and fuck them with a chargeback.

Companies have to pay a fee for every chargeback they get and they're usually something like $5K. So them doing that is incredibly stupid on their part.

$9.99 for the code plus tax and the tax on $600 worth of Xbox consoles.

They have a really bad merchant agreement if it costs them anywhere near that much. With PayPal, Stripe, Braintree, etc. you are looking at maybe $75 per chargeback, depending on the type of card used for payment (it's actually free with PP if a customer pays from a cash balance).

That clearly isn't true because some people make all sorts of outlandish commentary about the XSS like it's going to 'ruin' console gaming as we know it. Weird to complain about something that doesn't affect you in the slightest. Actual customers seem to be happy with it and I'd take their word over a haters any day.

On topic I hope everyone gets their orders. More XSS in the hands of gamers is a good thing. MS is going to be far more successful this generation than last.

So the bundle that they canceled the s and sent me the code. After further investigation it actually says its sending me 2 bundles.

it doesn't bother me that they canceled the second Xbox. I expected that to happen. The only thing that really bothers me is that they are apparently charging me for 3 months of GamePass that I did not order. I never added it to my cart. It would have been better for them to cancel these orders outright than do whatever it is they're doing now.

Ours is $15.

Agreed, at this point I'm going to end up with non refundable code and no consoles

Im guessing since the code wasn't added to the cart the system is now trying to correct itself after they have made the change in the backend.

Which ain't legal here. They will have to feel the wraith of PayPal and my CC

So the charge for the two systems has gone through on my card.

It's been 48 hours since I ordered and it's still "preparing for shipment".

They have my money but have not shipped me anything. I cannot cancel the order on the website.

They don't ship me something soon I'll file a chargeback.

You've clearly shopped at Gamestop before.

*I wish I was being sarcastic, but they screw up orders all the time*

That's exactly what happened to me. I received a credit card alert for a $299.99, and then received an email from Gamestop with the Gamepass code (and it showing I ordered 3 consoles total).

How do they even think that is okay, to charge us after the fact?
