If you read the thread I already said exactly that like ages ago. It was a first for a console and if we're talking technology the streaming tech with maps is a first for a console.

You want a console participation trophy because of having the same tech on a console that is also present in the same game on PC.

What is even hilarious is that NXGamer did not even praise the game for having the most amazing graphics. He just gave kudos to the devs on the progress they have made with each iteration of the engine in achieving a convincing photorealistic look. Grasping at straws to justify their unreasonable opinion.

Even if we agree it's a 2020 game then I think it justifies a mention, just like Ride 4. Anyway that's my opinion and I'm out of this thread.

Clearly NXG believes the upgrades to Ride 4 warranted mention while the console version of FS doesn’t justify including it in his list for a second year in a row. You are making a bigger deal out of this than you should over someone else’s opinion.

Take Ratchet for example. If it was released on PC this year it would definitely be better than the PS5 version. You could play the game at higher settings with RT at 4K 60FPs for example. But it shouldn't be on any list since it's essentially a game that was released last year. Now if they rebuilt it for PC and redid the visuals I could see it being on a list. But just being the same thing but at different settings isn't enough in my opinion.

PC still supports HDD's maybe in a few years it would but not in 2021/22.

Did the visuals get better though?

I'm not seeing anything about that but I did see a few articles about a performance update. Didn't really see anything about an overhaul to the visuals though.

As for Ride 4 he seems to be focused on visual upgrades to the game. Which is similar to what happened with Metro which made the list. However I'm not sure how extensive these visual upgrades are. Now if it's just a performance update and no visual upgrades done then I can see why it shouldn't be mentioned on the list.

As for what's in the top 6 I can see why those games are there. Might not be in the order that you want but those games look pretty good. That's something I believe most will agree with.

Riky. flight sim was 2020. It has no business in 2021 list. Console version isnt new version.

I hope you understand, the criteria for the list. Its like saying DS/GOT director edition should be on the list.

Flight Sim on consoles also was significantly different to PC since it was made using DX12. The PC only got updated to DX12 in November 2021. Also Flight sim then got a “rerelease” with a “game of the year” edition, so again wouldn’t that qualify it for this 2021 list?

Other games on the list released first in previous years. It’s NXGamers list, he can do what he want, but his bias is showing yet again. His 10:1 ratio of ps to Xbox videos on his channel isn’t a coincidence.

We get shit because its not inline with their thinking. Plain and simple. I got shit for UE5 demo until it came out and the guys over at Epic had to reveal the truth about Nanite and how it can run easily on a basic HDD. Got shit for the PC getting PS exclusives and being released much sooner than 3-5yrs like people "wished". Same thing with Ray-Traced lighting being way more accurate and better than GI probe lighting. I've just become numb to their reactions at this point..

Plus the PC version is much superior, to the console version. There is no need to revisit it.
