Theres more to this than just money thats his whole point.
You said if it was about money they would stick Halo on PlayStation.
Halo isn't as big as COD.
Keeping COD on PS is much more significant in the money making part than Halo.
Edit Yeah like Lognor says, I think you should read things a couple of times and have a think before you post stuff. You've misinterpreted things a few times in this thread and seems like you've got upset.

Easily done, i've kicked the shit out of my Mrs a few times after reading her text messages, turn's out they were harmless enough on second glance.

You said it the way you said it.
You bashed PlayStation period.

I never asked for you to be banned but I do think you need some attention.
You bashed PlayStation! Wahhhh how dare you?!

I said ps5 would be useless to those that only play cod every year (a large amount of ppl btw). That's still completely true. You just didn't comprehend my perfect statement.

I'm sure you'll be keeping an eye on me

The money it makes is still peanuts to MS.

They only bought this shit to make Gamepass stronger. As soon as the contracts go so does COD.

Sure its possible. But I think the IP is too big just like Minecraft to give up on that free cash. MS can retake first dibs on the DLC and put it on gamepass. That's enough to make it more attractive to play on Xbox, while also still collecting the PlayStation cash.

But if they take it off ps that will give them more money for gold, game pass, and console sales. Plus they'll add streaming so the loss to ps won't be that big in terms of lost revenue

What DLC? There is none, even if there was you they bought the whole company for DLC rights ? LMFAO

All Microsoft first party games launch on game pass. All of them. COD will too. That’s the whole point - to get people on game pass.

It seems that lots of people here don’t understand how big and rich Microsoft is. They don’t care about a piddly $500mil a year revenue from game sales. They care about getting recurring revenue 10x that per month. They do that by making it an irresistible offer, and they do that by launching games like COD on it.

Oh yeah, I know. I guess I’m kind of surprised that arguably the biggest money making game of all time is most likely being placed on a subscription service out of all things. As you said, they want everyone on Gamepass, so I understand.

He and certain others do much of that lol

That is not how he worded it.

Good point the mobile market is huge.
It certainly looks likes hes talking about the context that it would be useless to people who play mainly COD.
Lognor Lognor please can you confirm if this is the case.

Exactly, outside of our small buble casuals have no idea about the acquisitions or who Activision is. They would only notice once there's a new COD that is not releasing on PS5 and even then, most of them will stick to Warzone or look for other alternatives available on PS5 first.
It’s what I’ve been said. CoD leaving PS is a huge opportunity for a new franchise to take over. Knowing MS, its mismanagement, current AB situation and how long it’ll be for a new CoD to be released, some new game might take over and all of this will be for naught.

Quote me on this. The next COD, Diablo 4, and Overwatch 2 will all be released on the Playstation platform. These are multiplayer games that generate constant income monthly. Microsoft doesn't care about which box you prefer. Ultimately, they're in this business to make money.
Overwatch had big numbers on Xbox and PC, I'm pretty sure they can move forward without PS for Overwatch 2 and still have a big impact.

You're comparing a franchise that has always been synonymous with the Xbox brand. Not sorry, are you retarded?

Call of Duty was also tightly connected to the Xbox brand during the PS360 era. people who played CoD on PS3 were weirdos ngl. hence a 2:1 split in CoD game sales throughout the PS360 generation in favor of the 360. from Modern Warfare all the way to Black Ops 2, it was basically always the same picture, twice as many sold copied on 360 compared to PS3

He reported you for that? I bet he has done that to others
Of course he has. The stickied post about console warring specifically points out that the biggest users of the report button are the biggest console warriors, of which he is one of them.
Call of Duty is staying on Playstation, only difference, is that it will be crossplay with Xbox.

No one is throwing that money away.

I have my doubts that Call of Duty will be on gamepass straight away, outside of the old games.
COD is already cross-play with Xbox lol.

Again - Microsoft don't NEED 70% of revenue of COD sales from playstation. Microsoft just dropped $70 billion dollars on Activision/Blizzard. Do you think a company that needs ~$500mil *revenue* a year does that?

It makes perfect sense though because it's the perfect game to get people to sub to Game Pass and then spend money not only on microtransactions for COD, but also to get that sweet sweet 30% cut of everything they buy on the console, like fortnite microtransactions and other games.

USD$120 a year in recurring revenue via subscription + 30% of all content and games they buy + 1 monthly active user is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR more important to them than USD$60 once a year. It's not even close.

Its the same game on ps3 360

Enough with the hyperbole

first of all the controller was dogshit for shooters... like proper dogshit.

secondly, try going from having your MP3 collection playing in the background while chatting with 3 people over party chat to... not being able to do either.
the PS3 felt a full generation behind as soon as you turned that thing on. ESPECIALLY for the first 2 years or so. it eventually got a tiny bit better down the line, but even small things like opening the PSN Store was painful at times.

it's not only about the game you play but also the environment you play it in. the 360 felt like it was designed for the Online word while the PS3 felt like it was a PSX (PS2 variant with multimedia focus) with better graphics

I'm not going to argue or debate over computer games.

Find someone else for that.

Yeah.... I don't agree.
I liked PS3 multiplayer minus the lack of party chat.

I only played exclusives on it online. and every time I did I felt like I was send back to the past. it just felt so weird compared to PC and Xbox 360. you felt isolated in a weird way.

Kool, it was great for me.
Opinions

I mean it took 3 or 4 years until they patched in the ability to see and send messages on PSN while playing.

on Xbox if I wanted to play with a friend I just sent a quick message and they could answer anytime. on PS3 you needed to be on the home screen to see people online and see if someone messaged you. this was before easy and free smartphone messaging too

this is what I mean by feeling isolated. imaging the Switch's online system but without everyone having a phone with internet access ready at any time... that was the PS3. I think the Switch would be a way worse system if other tech advances didn't happen to augment it where it has shortcomings.
you don't need Party Chat on Switch because you can use Discord or Whatsapp to do that easy on your phone, same with messages. but back in 2005-2007 that was a whole nother world

Xbox 360 had invites which was the easiest way to play with friends.

Valid point. Constant revenue. I’m definitely thinking that we will see price increase for Gamepass though especially with all these acquisitions and high profile franchises that are coming.

this too, the PS3 never got that. you literally needed to be in the same game and use the in-game invite system to invite people.

Yeah I remember trying to play resistance 2 with a friend, we were shocked how bad it was compared to 360.

It wasn't good at launch but it didn't take 3 or 4 years to get right.

I don't remember 3 or 4 years to message people while playing either. I could be mistaken do you got something saying this?

I agree with similarities with the Switch and let me add the original Xbox.
