I expected this to be 129€ - 149€ tops lol. Also the currency exchange rate for GBP and EUR is terrible on top of the tax that is already included which makes high sums (%) look even more ridiculous.

Regardless of me looking like an idiot in my prediction which failed to account for Jim Ryan's greedy ass I thank Sony for this top tier meme content I can enjoy free of charge.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
Was ready to buy this two years ago. Got a whole backlog of PS5 games I've been waiting to play with paddles.

Fuckin finally.

Playing Spider-man and having full / constant camera control while swinging through the city is a literal game changer. Same with playing Souls games and having all your camera control while sprinting. So many examples.

I’m a little surprised by the reaction to the price here. Wasn’t the Elite Series 2 also $200? I know they recently released a simplified version for like $130, but it is paired down a bit.

Speaking for myself, I could stomach 180 maybe 200, but making it 240 euros is insulting.

Sure....but for comparisons sake....
yeah, but i think there is an argument that you could have about what's the realistic price that a consumer would spend but ultimately that 17 quid difference (160 and 143) is not that interesting.

They’re expensive no doubt. But I love my Elite and I’ll be buying this as well.

it was $200 but now it (full elite 2) is $179.99 USD, £159.99 GBP, €179.99, obviously its everyones money to spend however they want.

I mean sure but I think it’s funny to be perfectly okay with $180 but comically outraged at $200. If $20 is that significant to someone, they don’t need to be buying this at either price.

But the reality is that one product is brand new on the market and the other has been here for two years. The older product is obviously more likely to be on sale.

Cost to manufacture.

Yeah well....that is pretty much every product you buy.

hopefully they have state of the art everything.
Button switches, analolg sticks, build quality.

Could be my favorite controller for the next years.

Well, 180 to 240 is almost an entire dualsense's worth of difference.

I can see that argument but think consumers also might not care about the elite 2 being a couple of years old. I suspect that very few consumers are going to be choosing between the two apart from maybe on pc.

I think the usd price is fine, (generally think the price is what the price is and you always can hold off or just not get it so really not fussed).

The only 'issue' is probably the non-USD prices and that comparison which very few consumers are going to be making anyways.

Yeah, for PC gamers the price may come into play, but otherwise this is a PS product. In that context, the only relevant discussion is whether or not this controller is overpriced and compared to other premium controllers, it just isn't, imo.

Yeah, within the market of PS elite controllers, it does seem pretty okay but I havent had a massive look at the scuf's.

If you’re going to only have 2 back buttons you may as well have 0. The whole point is to move the 4 face buttons to the back and allow your thumbs to remain on the sticks at all times. To mess this up shows a complete lack of understanding of the whole concept. Ideally there should be six back buttons with two up top by the shoulder buttons.

So 1 USD = 1 EUR ratio has been replaced with 1 USD ~= 0.83 EUR, probably for good. Microsoft haven't adjusted yet but every new release is now more expensive:
Meta Quest Pro - 1500 USD = 1800 EUR
RTX 4090 - 1600 USD = 2000 EUR
Same with iPhone Pro but I'm too lazy to check exact price in EUR.

And now Dualsense Edge. Welcome to 2022.

Basically all european countries have tax included.

Some countries have 19% VAT.

I’d always take more options, but with my Elite I only use two. I actually removed the others. I never used more than 2 and I just find holding it more comfortable.

It used to be 1 USD = 1 EUR with tax included.

For example Poland has 23% VAT and MSRP of PS4 in 2013 was 400 USD = 400 EUR = 1650 PLN. EUR to PLN ~4.05-4.2 around that time.

Not this controller being almost half the price of a PS5 console. Wtf Sony, lmao.

And people expect VR2 to come out at 400€/$ :messenger_tears_of_joy:
Yeah, I know the PS5 is cheap for what it is, but £200 for a controller is insane.

I’d consider paying £120 max, I think double the price of the normal controller is expensive enough thanks! 😅

Not for me. I only use two back buttons and I use them to replace L3 and R3.
