Lumen and Nanite are both heavily taxing for visually intensive games like this anyway. UE5 won't be maximised until PS6.

After playing back at x.25 speed, I'm having second thoughts and you might be right.
It sucked that they replaced blood in Shinra building with green ooze in Remake.

I think it will be dependent on FFXVI at this point. If that game sells well they may go the higher rating required to have blood. I thought I read that why it wasn’t there in the base game. The DLC has it, which now leads to some odd inconsistencies of Rebirth doesn’t in a scene like that.

Dunno, they actually added more stuff for the Midgar section in the Remake compared to the original game. As a "part 2" game, yeah, thers still alot from the OG story, locations, characters that gonna be left out.

Despite the compressed footage and annoying 1080p upload, you can see the fundamental visuals are impressive. A ton of environmental detail, different foliage, texture work etc.... Definitely a big step up from Remake. Plus as you say, more time to polish up. As always the trailer would have been cut probably a month or two ago and using a build from earlier in the year.

Have they shown scenes in the trailer that take place after Neibleheim ? The farther I could make out was the Sephiroth / Jenova fight in the boat traversing the ocean.
Maybe Cid has been moved up, since you an see Highwind.

Not sure if you watched the whole trailer or played the original, so I'll spoiler it just in case.
Impression I got was that this new "rebirth" story is moving away from Aerith dying, and instead the implication is that Sephiroth kills Tifa back in Nibelheim, then asks Cloud "So who do you think has been with you this whole time", implicating that it's not the real Tifa. Along with the rest of the voiceover from Sephiroth, it makes it lean into the Tifa in your party just being Jenova cells similar to how in the original FF7 you don't fight Sephiroth until the very end of the game. All the other fights were with Jenova cells mimicking Sephi

The cloaked clones scene may possibly be from the Northern Crater as that's where that event takes place in the original. But very hard to say at this point. Could be related to another scene.

Chocobo Ranch and the Midgar Snek are what I'm most excited to see. After that, Dolphin. After that, Marching band.

I still wish this game embraced turn based combat, instead of the half measures. The longtime fans really get this series. Look at how they rendered FF9. And I guarantee you they would keep the turn based combat,, while spicing up the animations, flow, etc.

The Highwind sits at Junon when you first get there before crossing to Costa.
The same scene basically is seen in Remake, although now it seems like one of the Sephy clones from AC. (I blame their animation department)

Interesting. Maybe he's in charge of the Highwind(he states as much in og), stationed at Junon until he reappears in Rocket Town..?.. where he basically explains to the party that Shinra has "stolen" the Highwind away from him.
