"It's also about making F1 sexy" he said.

Hmm...

Yeah it does. Leunam PM'd me about a week ago about it and it seemed to be doing well then, so I imagine it's a case of it'll be posted when it's done.

It's a lot of work!

Don't feel too sorry for him. There's a lot of money coming his way from Bernie.

Bernie can pay more than Codemasters. There's a reason Leunam ditched the F1 2011 thread in favour of this!

Pirelli to use Renault R30 as test car to work on 2013 Formula 1 tyres
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/97887

Pirelli has announced a Renault R30 from the 2010 season will be its new test car.

The Italian manufacturer had been looking for a new car to use for testing purposes as the Toyota it had been using up until now was deemed too old.

Pirelli said the Renault R30 will be adapted to simulate the latest technical and aerodynamic regulations.

The car will run with a carbon fiber black Pirelli livery and the test team will be run by Pirelli with no team member connected to a current Formula 1 team.

Pirelli is hoping to announce a test driver within a month.

...

"Our new test car will be running to current fuel regulations, with no refuelling, so we will be able to simulate a full race distance and the change in balance with the car and tyres."

The Italian manufacturer said four to five tyre tests are anticipated for this season, with the first one set for May.

Ok, I'm understanding that people don't want to just throw out their second Sky Go login for nothing. I was hoping my fantastic charisma and awesome avatar would be enough to swoon some of you guys, but now I'm realising I might need to throw something else into the mix.

So I'm actually willing to pay for a Sky Go login. I need my Brundle-fix :< Throw me a PM if you want to do some mafi..ousous.. dealing! I'll be the guy with the awesome avatar.

That Sky intro (muted) is much better than the old BBC intro.

When do we get to see the new BBC intro? They had a press day yesterday and it's supposed to be live action one instead of the CG bollocks.

seems just fine to me, also i can't remember anything about the BBC intro and i don't have Sky anyways.

crisis averted

Yeah that opening vid is shit. So boring.

The BBC one gets the blood pumping and you're excited before the show even starts. That intro? Zzzz puts me to sleep.

Jenson Button is biggest threat to Red Bull says Horner
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/17284142
Red Bull boss Christian Horner says McLaren's Jenson Button is the biggest threat to his team this season, but warned that there is more to come from defending champion Sebastian Vettel.

Horner also named Lewis Hamilton of McLaren, Ferrari's Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus as contenders.

But he insisted Red Bull's back-to-back champion Vettel will take some beating.
"We are yet to see the best from him," Horner told BBC Radio 5 live. "He will evolve and get stronger."

Button, the 2009 world champion, finished second to Vettel in the 2011 season, a distant 122 points behind the German.

With the 2012 season poised to start in Australia on 18 March, Horner is predicting a closer contest for the title this time round.

"Seb had an unbelievable year and in the end dominated significantly," he said. "But there are some big opponents out there, with six world champions on the grid.

"Lewis is going to be pushing hard this year, Jenson had a great year last year, you can't rule out Fernando because he is a world-class driver and it will be interesting to see how Kimi fares on his return."

Asked to pick out the strongest rival to Vettel and his team-mate Mark Webber, Horner responded: "Probably Jenson."

Horner said he was happy with Red Bull's car after they successfully trialled upgrades during pre-season testing in Barcelona.

"Those upgrades seem to be working OK and will certainly be on the car in Australia in 10 days' time," he said.

"I think we're set for a really fascinating season. Things move on so quickly and the running order at the end of last year doesn't guarantee it's going to be the running order at beginning of this year."

Love Jenson, but I think Lewis will get the better of him in 2012. He's inherently faster than Jenson and with his issues behind him, he'll come out on top.

Oh come on! Massa's Ferrari will not be that bad.

The Sky intro with The Chain would be infinitely better. The CGI used by the BBC doesn't compare to the history of F1 laid out before you eyes.

I didn't say it wouldn't work with live footage, but the editing of the Sky video wouldn't suit the song. It wouldn't match - just like that 79 intro doesn't.

Definitely, the intro needs to get you excited and pumped up. The footage is awesome but the song choice is not very good for the intro, The Chain is so much better.

Every time the BBC intro comes on I always get up and do a stupid dance, I get so motivated for the race lol.

He's back with that chick though... and I don't think he's had the kick up the arse he needed to be able to handle off-track drama as well as Alonso did with his divorce.

This is what I think too and I've always maintained that whilst Button is a brilliant driver, Hamilton is just quicker than him, but after seeing Button's performance last year in the latter half of the season, I'm actually unsure this year.

Same views as me then.

It'll be an interesting year, assuming I can watch the races live.

If Lewis stays out of trouble and actually finishes races i'm certain he'll finish above Button at the end of the season.

Hmm, I was looking at the f1racemanager team... and I don't remember my strategy from last year. I think it was worst drivers, semi good car.
