Jagged Alliance 3 is a must play for me.
BG3 after that.
Starfield I am looking forward to but will wait for reviews, I want a bug free (relatively speaking) experience and I and wary of Bethesda games upon release.
FFXVI intrigues me but I'm PC only so will play it in a couple of years. Alan Wake 2 intrigues me but will wait for reviews and probably grab it on discount down the line.
Not interested in Spider Man 2, even if it releases on PC I'm out. Played Spider Man 1 and although I enjoyed it I don't really need more of it. I didn't even finish the DLCs.
CP2077, I don't know, that game was such a let down that I haven't touched it after finished the game's main quest. They made the city shinny and cool to look at but it was boring and lifeless, and I have no interest in revisiting it.

August:
Baldur's Gate 3

September:
Starfield

October:
Alan Wake 2
Spider-Man 2
I don’t have a Ps5 yet though, will have to wait and see if Spidey pushes me over the edge or not.

Kind of want to wait for a revision.

There is a portuguese store that usually has a 3 for 2 promo.

Coming september (if they have pre-orders also a part of the promo, they usually do) im buying MK1 or Lies of P (depends on the demo) ,AC Mirage and Spiderman 2

Baldur's Gate 3
CP 2077 Phantom Liberty
Assassin's Creed Mirage
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name

Maybe: Spider-Man 2
Doubtful but let's see: Alone in the Dark
Another maybe: Persona 5 Tactica

That's already a lot.

I can't wait for all those threads next year in which people will be crying that we didn't get enough good games in 2024. And absolutely none of them will have even the most basic comprehension of how the release schedules work.

I'm inclined to get FF16 and Starfield but both will depend on reviews and the state the launch in.

I will probably get Starfield, Cyberpunk, Spider-Man 2, and BG3 and Like a Dragon. Not necessarily at release though or even in 2023.

I stopped GamePass so no Forza 7 for now, especially with always online.

meh... Zero... None excites me enough to spend 80€. I'll get a couple of them when they are down to 20€ (even if takes 2 years, I can wait).

Probably FF16, Starfield and Spider-man. But i'll be waiting on the reception for all of them before buying.

OP probably needs to look back on the game releases of years gone by, before stating that this year's quality is high.

Going to purchase quite a few games off my wishlist. Starfield and Diablo 4 are likely the only 2023 games I’ll actually buy (already bought Zelda) in 2023.

Strangley, November is pretty barren currently. But I guess some games from October will slip into November. And there is COD MW3 of course.

Who the fuck buys more than 10 games in 6 months? Man add some granularity to this poll.

I was going to post something earlier this week about whether or not publishers should consider strategically delaying their game due to too much competition. So many good games are going to fail or do much worse because there are so many other good games.

I think 2023 is better than 2007, at least on paper lets see what the games are like. TotK was better than anything that year too.
hold up 2007 was straight up magic. Respect needs to be shown.

As for the list I'm confused as to why CP2077 DLC is showing up in this list at all.

If not I'll settle with what's coming on PC Game Pass + my current backlog which is huge.

Holy shit, I'm so out of touch! A Persona tactics game?! Not gonna buy a console for it, but if there's a Switch version, I'll be buying that for sure.

Day 1 are FFXVI, Spider-man 2 and probably Armored Core.

Starfield is also considered if I upgrade my PC by then.

Everything else can wait.

Is it me or there's not a lot of Switch big hit during that time? I probably miss something but Pikmin 4 isn't totally a Zelda title.
Not just you. Pikmin 4 is a big deal imo buy after that Nintendo has nothing coming .. Nintendo has been really quiet lately. They're due to announce some stuff soon, right?
There's some stuff like Mortal Kombat, the Hogwarts port and some Level 5 RPGs.

But yes there's still a lot of mystery around the Switch H2 lineup. I'm expecting Nintendo's Summer showcase to be in July.

Starfield and Spider Man the only two Day 1, then Persona 5 Tactician, Alan Wake 2 and the Cyberpunk DLC are the only ones I have any real interest in. 10 seems super high for the minimum poll option. Seems like a pretty standard fall to me

Here is my game funding priority as of right now...

1. Starfield
2. Baldur's Gate 3
3. Spider-man 2 *
4. CP 2077 Phantom Liberty
5. FF XVI *
6. Assassin's Creed Mirage *

* GameFly rental
Pretty much the same as me but I'd add in Lies of P and likely the Like A Dragon spin off.
I am a bit sad though as only two would be new IP's and the rest all sequels, spin-offs or DLC. (Lies of P and Starfield). Need new IP's!!

I think 2023 is better than 2007, at least on paper lets see what the games are like. TotK was better than anything that year too.
Cod 4, Halo 3, Bioshock, Portal, Tf2, Hl2 episode 2, crysis, assassins creed, super mario galaxy, mass effect, first uncharted.

Are you fucking insane?

From the OP's list, 4 definite and 4 maybe. Adding stuff from my Steam wishlist almost doubles that number.

Come on now, at least half of these games will be 7/10's at best. Not to say a 7/10 is bad or can't be fun, but let's settle down a bit. Here, I'll highlight them for you:

The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie - 7/10 at best
Exoprimal - 7/10 at best
Jagged Alliance 3 - 7/10 at best
Immortals of Aveum - 7/10 at best

Pikmin 4
Remnant 2 - 7/10 at best
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart (PC) - old port, nobody cares

August:
Atlas Fallen - - 7/10 at best
Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew - - 7/10 at best
Blasphemous 2 - 7/10 at best

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
Baldur's Gate 3

September:

Lords of the Fallen - 7/10 at best
Alan Wake 2
Spider-Man 2
Cities: Skylines II
Alone in the Dark - 7/10 at best
Total War: Pharaoh - 7/10 at best, I actually don't really know but also don't care

November:
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name - 7/10 at best
Persona 5 Tactica - 7/10 at best
The Day Before - 7/10 at best

Street Fighter 6, Armored Core 6, and Starfield will keep me busy for years and years.
So much value and replay-ability. Worth far more than what ill actually pay.

One of the better times for gaming no doubt - been awhile since this much quality.

I had to shelve Zelda for Diablo 4. Hopefully I can finish both of those up by the end of this month, and I can take a stab at Final Fantasy 16 before Starfield hits. If not, I may come back to it during the holidays, along with Spiderman 2 and possibly Cyberpunk/Assassin's Creed. Will wait and see about The Day Before, too. Could be a magnificent dumpster fire that I can't afford to miss.

Too many damn games and just not enough time. Ugh.

The only game I see on that list that looks in any way interesting to me will be Starfield and it’ll be the only game I buy in 2023. What’s weird to me is it’s an Xbox game I had to buy an Xbox to play and Sony, my console of choice since the PSone, has given us fuck all this year to be excited about both in terms of releases and announcements.

Starfield & Cities: Skylines II are 100% purchases

Assassin's Creed Mirage & Total War: Pharaoh are maybe depending on reviews.

Tbh, Starfield and Cities 2 will keep me busy for months and months.

Of the stuff on this list, I am I for:

Starfield
Phantom Liberty
Alan Wake 2
Spider-Man 2
Alone in the Dark

and maybe:
Space Marine 2
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora

I really can't get more than that, I won't have time to play it.

Damn! And I thought I was jaded.

Hey man, it is what it is. I didn't even include stuff that will probably get delayed out of 2023, which there is guaranteed to be at least a few. We have this same thread every few months about how insane the next few months is and it's always the same. Look, here's one from six months about the INSANE first half of 2023:

  • Fire Emblem Engage - January 20
  • Forspoken - January 24 - flop
  • Dead Space - January 27
  • Hogwarts Legacy - February 10
  • Wild Hearts - February 17 - 7/10
  • Atomic Heart - February 21 - 7/10
  • Like a Dragon Ishin - February 21 - 7/10
  • PSVR 2 and games - February 22
  • Octopath Traveler 2 - February 24
  • Destiny 2: Lightfall - February 28 - 7/10
  • Wo Long - March 3 - 7/10
  • TLoU PC - March 3 - disaster
  • Skull and Bones - March 9 - delayed
  • Resident Evil 4 - March 24
  • Jedi Survivor - March 17
  • Bayonetta Origins - March 17 - 7/10
  • Crime Boss - March 28 - flop
  • HFW: Burning Shores DLC - April 19
  • Dead Island 2 - April 28 - 7/10
  • Legend of Zelda: TotK - May 12
  • Suicide Squad: KtJL - May 26 - delayed
  • Street Fighter 6 - June 2
  • Diablo 4 - June 6
  • Final Fantasy 16 - June 22nd
  • Returnal PC - Early 2023
  • Forza Motorsport 8 - Early 2023 - delayed
  • Starfield - Early 2023 - delayed
  • Redfall - Early 2023 - flop

Yeah we still got a bunch of really good games but it's never as crazy as people think it will be.
