Blindly supporting a cause that you admittedly don't fully comprehend is part of the issue, though. LGB people as a whole aren't so ostracized today that they need allies--often ignorant of the current infighting and fracturing of the community over sex, gender and single-sex spaces--to "step in" and swing their dicks around on our behalf, as that usually does more harm than good. LGB people need to sort their own issues out. And while I'm sympathetic to your tertiary involvement given your brother and your son, how we form our communities and address our politics and identities is really none of your business.

I haven't watched the video in question that got you suspended, so I won't speak to that, though I do know that lesbians, in particlar, are tremendously marginalized within the community, given how their spaces have been infliltrated by trans women (both genuine transitioners and auto-gynos). So I imagine you could've easily ruffled some feathers in the lesbian community by mere mention of the term, however it was framed.

Obviously people should not be hunted for whatever reason. That being said, the movement of people who claim to be allied to the causes of the groups they claim are constantly huntes have lost any kind of moral high ground when they decided that violence on people for random immutable characteristics was not the problem, the problem was who is targeted by violence for their immutable characteristics.

I don't know exactly what constitutes "wokeness", but a certain level of political correctness is certainly inescapable. Just the basics of business really, you can't be around outraging half your customers. A big corp will generally only be publicly for or against things when the majority of the general public is clearly aligned in the same direction, so you get the shift that happens as time goes on and public opinion changes on different issues.

There were a ton of people complaining about being temp banned on XBL after Cyberpunk came out. I thought that was ridiculous too. Yeah, people were being childish and sharing a bunch of dildo pics from CP, but that was content that was in the game, directly from the store. Seemed like there should have been a better way, like maybe automatically rate screenshots based on the ESRB of the game it came from. That would "protect" minors, but avoid the bans.

Hopefully all these networks can find a way to protect their networks as they see fit without banning users for extremely minor offenses. Maybe a lot harder than it sounds.
