Bullshit. The amount of diversity in media is leaps and bounds beyond the actual amount of diversity in real life....
It is massively overrepresented.
If you look at specific local minima (ie. countries or parts thereof).
Globally there's more diversity than any media can realistically represent - given they're all catering to their very specific local social-niches.

Are they still relevant? I once visited it, saw that their tastes dont align with mine and left without looking back, is it wrong when i assume the outlet was full of manchildren?

It must be nice working in the western gaming industry right now.

"Ready to pitch your game idea?"
"Yeah so it's about this guy..."

"Do you have some concepts for the female lead"
"Yeah so I though it's going to be this attractive, fit blonde and we can give her a sexy outfit"
OVmHeUF.png

"So in this game you`re pitching, is your ...sigh... male character in a relationship?"
"Yeah it's actually a big part of the story. You see he has a wife..."

Well, natural diversity is all I have been asking for...

Make a RPG where every character is a trans woman or trans men. With characters of other races, nationalities. Where men and women have the same amount of agency in the story.
Give me all of that.

I will play it, if I like what I see (Gameplay, art style, so on) Just stop with the grand-standing. Stop with the virtue signaling. Stop with white-guilt and over compensating shit.

Make games with diverse characters, and shut the fuck up, can you do that?

Can you make that diverse game, release it, and let it speak for itself?

Jesus.

She makes a good and obvious point. Diversity exists in real life; if you don't like it, get over it. No one should bend over for intolerant assholes.
Computer games. Funny old things eh?

Not really meant to emulate real life but who'd of thunk it. If the developers can't differentiate between the two, get the fuck out the business and deal with your issues. We don't give a shit. This isn't the platform for your woes.

This thing is the perfect epitome of 'fiddling about'

Certainly giving off 'uncle issues'

'I want people in the industry to be a little bit louder about people being mean to other people and maybe say it's not a good thing, maybe say we don't want you around if you are going to be a cunt and hateful.... And that the game's industry is diverse naturaly, not because anyone is making it diverse, because the world is diverse you stupid motherfucker and if you have a problem with that come fight me physically bitch'

What a disgusting way to make a point.

The strength of any message lies in the leadership of the ones making it.

Any idea, even a progressive one like “diversity”, fails if it’s made by a bunch of strange looking weirdos breeding themselves out of the gene pool.

It gives even the best ideas a pause as everyone tries to figure out how to avoid following them off the demographic cliff.

Who the fuck are these people?

Remember when Giantbomb was an S-tier outlet? An actual reputable source of information? Filled with respected people with an insane amount of knowledge about the industry? How they went to the E3 shows and did a livestream every evening while half-drunk and had prominent guests on and grilled them about the state of the videogame industry? Remember how amazing their chemistry was? Good vibes all around.

Jeff Gerstmann rolling in his grave.
you mean ryan d.

Is that person supposed to be physically intimidating? Lmao

She looks riddled with STI's/STD's. That's pretty physically intimidating.

Why do they speak so badly? "fuck" this, "stupid motherfucker" that, "cunt" and so on.

No education? No manners? No respect for you then.

Just a try hard, who is quick to dish it out but can't take it.

Looks like the lead singer of Wheatus.

Fucking wannabe gangster.

Things like this are so hard to comment on. It sounds like pandering, give me characters who happen to be LGBQT+, not the other way around, I hate that identity politics garbage.

That's not Giant Bomb. Just a freak wearing its skin. Disgusting.
Yeah, current Giant Bomb is NOT Giant Bomb. I loved Giant Bomb but it's dead now and has been for a long time. Honestly, I know people don't like him but Dan leaving was the beginning of the end combined with the East/West split.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
"Come fight me physically..bitch."

She would literally get her ass whoop d by most 12 year old boys.. She's gonna fafo one day I'm sure.
What's even funnier is right after she says this in her little remote location safe on her coach with a dude who looks like he's from some 1970's porn flick behind her is the guy asks if anyone has taken her up on that offer and she says no because they all pussies thinking she's hard

I find it so fucking offensive that these pieces of shit dare call themselves Giant Bomb after Jeff Gerstmann was fired from the company he started. He was planning on leaving he said anyway, but still...the whole thing is disgusting. Giant Bomb of 2008-2013 was some of the best content on the internet, and even after that, there were good moments. The original crew was giant bomb, it was not something that could just be transferred to another group of people. Now it's a bunch of scumbags parading around in it's dead skin saying "we're giant bomb" It's bull shit and I wish it would die already.

That Frosk energy. It ended well for G4. Kotaku is not far from the same fate.

Gaming will never be better than when we were ok if a team was a bunch of white guys, the fact that a "bunch of white guys" is seen by modern society as so intrinsically bad, not good, gotta change, is everything wrong with the world today.

As if a group of white men existing in close proximity to each other causes a bunch of HITLER particles to spread out into the air and find the nearest woman or minority to harass.

Silent Hill 3 had multiple women on it's team and it's one of the best games ever made, if a team is naturally diverse, it doesn't matter anymore than it should if it's a bunch of white guys, what's been going in recent years is anything but natural though, we need people with the right talent and passion and that's all that matters.

I'm all for creators creating what they want whether I like it or not, and most people will claim the same thing.

However, what I dislike is this principal inconsistency where as long as they make what you like, it's OK, but as soon as they make something different then something's wrong with the industry.

It's headache-inducing.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
I mean, they're all a bunch of losers - nothing new to see here... but my God would I laugh if someone actually beat Alyssa Mercante up now that she's requested it.

My blood is actually steaming a little bit cuz of that dumb clip. I hate how people like that have a platform at all. As much of a hollow piece of shit the current "giant bomb" is, WHY would any outlet want to be associated with people like her after the bull shit she has pulled? Like stalking others, and openly harassing people, and yet has the nerve to say "I want people to be louder about people being mean"...yeah, look in the fucking mirror. It's like she talking about herself during her whole schtick, but doesn't even realize it.

Why is gaming in the west dominated by such insufferable people? Apparently Brad is going to be on tomorrow also, why the fuck would brad want to be associated with any of them by going on this...have some fucking self respect ffs, these people are parading around in your skin.

That is why there at HR departments at most companies.

what if you said “I wish software developers were nicer to each other when they develop Windows”. Who gives a f*ck? and thats not our problem. Does she plan on having a relationship with a developer to prove her point? lol

I'm sure this depends a lot on where one lives. If one lives in a major populating center, they are going to be presented with much more diversity than someone living in a rural area, at least in the US. So if a game (or movie/show) is located in a metropolitan setting, it makes since for its diversity to be more apparent than overall population statistics would suggest.
