It was worth it at full price so yes definitely.
Halo 5 campaign?IMO, it's the worst Halo campaign. Yes, even Halo 5 is better.
If you're a fan of the series then go for it, but otherwise I wouldn't bother.
Halo 5 campaign?
Mate.
I take you just forgot the Halo 5 campaign or never bothered playing it?
I played through that for the achievements.......multiple times
Thats easily the worst campaign as it doesnt really have a sandbox and you are just going through the motions to get those achievements.
You fight the frikken Warden Eternal like 3 or 4 times, if you dont have friends to co-op with, its easily easily the most tedious thing any Halo campaign has ever done and even with co-op partners its just not fun..........that alone makes Halo 5 the worst campaign.
The prometheans are also really boring enemies to fight against.
Infinite is leagues leagues better.
Even if you ignore the open world and just marthon mission after mission, you are in for a much better time than Halo 5, dare I say its actyually really fun if your upgraded enough.
A second playthrough is legit worth it.
Halo 5 is only worth it for achievements and the multiplayer.
I still wish they would release it on PC with crossplay so I can get more Warzone/Warzone Firefight/Warzone Assault.
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion but like, dear lord. What are you smoking cuz I need some lol. An I LOVED halo 5 mp/warzone/breakout shit was fire MP wise. But fighting the warden over an over an over an over was literally text book bad game design.IMO, it's the worst Halo campaign. Yes, even Halo 5 is better.

Facts it’s so fun gameplay and mechanic and enemy wise, the story’s not bad either. Definitely not one of the greats as far as halo stories go though since much didn’t happen tbh, mainly just setting up the star of the halo universe post halo 5. But it was master chief finally getting over his ex pretty much an how he grew as a person in doing so. That one on one talk he did with the pilot still hits pretty hard. I remember everyone sharing that scene when the game came out lol it was a great stoic chief moment. If you’re looking for reasons to hate this game, you’ll find them.
As a fan of previous Halo games, it’s the most fun I’ve had gaming in a long time.
…I think you could have lead with what games you enjoy in the OP to get some better feedback.
There is literally nothing in Halo Infinites campaign thats worse or as tedious as the Warden Eternal.Halo 5 campaign is trash, but I'd rather play that every day for a decade then put up with the Halo Infinite campaign one more time.
In fact, I'd rather get a tuggy from a homeless bum then play the Infinite campaign again.
Did you guys play a different Halo 5?No, it's just terrible. The MCC collection or Halo 5 is superior choice. I couldn't finished Infinite due to boredom.
Yes, it is linear and it has co-op, which is enough for me. I really hate whole structure of Infinite, just give me some "condensed experience", I hate when it is ton of pointless shit on map and devs expect me to do same thing over and over again. It felt like a chore, which is sad because with grappling hook and solid shooting it could be really good game.Did you guys play a different Halo 5?
You really think Halo 5 had a better campaign than Halo Infinite?
Infinite has Co-op and while travelling between missions can be a chore, just ignore everything inbetween and voila a more classic halo experience.Yes, it is linear and it has co-op, which is enough for me. Best thing which came out of Infinite was Craig, one of the funniest moment on this forum.
Yes but the MP has had issues and people are unable to divorce OP asking about the campaign from their overall feelings towards the entire product. Ask this same question last year and the poll is different. It was NeoGaf's best game of 2021. It's worth it at full price.
I dunno all I give a fuck about is fun really I guess - critically I’m sure it can be picked apart easily. But grappling around the giant sandbox sniping and what not - that’s more fun than I’ve had in halo since probably the first one campaign wise.Fun << >> Hate
There are myriads of reasons for both sides. Objectively AND subjectively.

I highly disagree. This was a return to form. Not fantastic, but very good.IMO, it's the worst Halo campaign. Yes, even Halo 5 is better.

In my opinion, much better. The gameplay was good but the story was absolute dog shit compared to the book. It carried absolutely none of the emotion that was necessary to mark the end of the Spartans at that time.Better than Reach?

I agree with this. I would have been disappointed if I had bought this game outright. Game Pass was the way to go. If you really want to play it I would just spend the money for a month of Game Pass and spend the other 27 days or so just trying other games.I think it is a good, not great game. The open world is far too empty and they had a number of missed opportunities with it. The high value targets, for example, could have been fully fleshed out side quests, but instead just another shallow "go kill those guys and get the weapon" mission. So for me, while I enjoyed playing it via Game Pass, I would need a significant discount to buy the game outright at this point since 343 isn't delivering on its Gaas promise.
Couldn’t disagree more. I played all the halos, 4 and 5 were dog shit campaigns. Like COD campaigns basically. I hated them… when I first played halo, the first one - it was all about the open levels like beach one and the snow one. I’d replay those with friends over and over. Then Halo 2 came out and was more linear due to having to meet the deadline and rushing the campaign which was disappointing. Then halo 3 brought back some openness but not as much as the first game suggested they were going to, that didn’t happen really until infinite. And while imperfect it’s definitely a start. If they go back to that linear shit I’m doneYes, it is linear and it has co-op, which is enough for me.
