Wow. A lot of these setups are really high class. Everything looks really nice.

Compare that to me with what I have setup in my college dorm room...

Pre-Use

Post-Use (with speakers and TV added)

I have a laptop, but it is for work use only. I'll have my gaming PC brought up after Thanksgiving break.

In all honesty, I think it is a pretty good setup for a college budget :3

Where did you get the plans for that cabinet.
made them myself, in a not very formal way.

Most plans you find dont have two things I wanted, access from the front (my entire bottom piece is a swinging door. I have mounted that since taking this picture) and a removable control panel. I built a really heavy control panel that I like to be able to use for couch two player on my coffee table, so in the cabinet it just sits on the shelf.

I finally tidied up my setup in my new flat.
I game on PC, Wii U, PS3 and PS4.

This is super clean. Reminds me that I really need to mount my TV already.

Unrelated note - who here has cats? If you do, what do you do about:

1. Cat hair, which gets everywhere. All the time.

2. Cat scratching your couch, which only just started when I got a new couch.. probably the material.

I second the super clean comment. Wooden floors seem to make such a difference!

You need to remember that you are actually living in your cat's house, you just pay the rent...

Two things:

Also, take the time to take apart and clean out your vacuum cleaner (really makes a huge difference, especially with hair), and buy some baby wipes - the cheapest way of getting hairs off surfaces.

what figure is that? i was going to buy it at a convention yesterday but when i went back they had sold out.

Its the Real Action Heroes Mikasa. The hair is different from the Max Factory Figma which I happen to have (check it here) and the RAH version is taller, the jacket is a bit brighter and the hair style is different.

It's also more expensive @ $200+.

Thanks, it wasn't easy hiding cabling for such a crazy amount of gear but I'm reasonably happy.
5 HDMI Cables, 6 Ethernet cables etc.

eep. yeah it definitely wasn't that one.

whats the best way to manage cables? i bought a tv stand that has hole in the spine to feed cables through, but they still pop out and i'd like to not see my cables as much.

I'm just waiting for a good black Friday or cyber Monday deal on a 1080p projector to update my setup. I'm happy with my old ass plasma for now. If anybody knows of any good projector deals, I'll love you forever if you could point me towards it's location. Also missing from the picture is a ps4.

You've inspired me to make my own. I think I will use one of those adjustable metal shelves with wheels as a base. Then encase that to look like an arcade cabinet.

Depending on the size of the room you may or may not want/need short throw. 1080p projectors have become very affordable lately. What size screen were you thinking about and how far back would you sit from it?

This site makes it easy to see if a certain projector will work within your room and screen size.

A few pages ago I posted about my empty ass apartment. In the picture below, the only thing that used to be there was the desk/computer, the entire room this picture is taken from was completely empty, save for a few boxes.

cWJzjMY.jpg

I'm pretty happy with it. The speakers are old computer speakers that I've had in a box for years and they are doing a decent job on the TV. Cable management probably needs work but I don't care all that much about it at the moment.

The TV is a 60" Vizio LED TV and it looks fantastic. Wii U games look incredible (Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze especially), PS3 games look adequate. Netflix and movies look and sound amazing.

The sad thing is I'm used to sitting at my computer desk 100% of the time I'm home, and I've still sat there most of the time since I bought all this shit. I'm trying to find more excuses to sit on the couch instead of in the chair.

I've ordered a few pieces of game-related art from Redbubble that I plan to hang either behind the TV or on the wall behind the couch. I might upload another pic showing them, idk.

OK I need some help with my TV area. Now I know this isn't the best pic (and the house needs tidying, but whatevs)

How should I organize this area. I don't mind buying/building stands/storage. This is at the endo of my living room. There aer windows on both walls (as you can see). I have a corner sofa in the corner on the right. So, what should I do?

Thanks

Man I'm so jealous of the amount of space and views you guys have along with your furniture and layout.

Here's where i do all my computer stuff. I've been planning to put up some more maps on the wall, but i'm a very slow worker. Also look at that terrible fucking wallpaint, jesus christ.

UjL7kLD.jpg

And here's where all the console gaming and stuff happens. Look at that sweetass kittyposter behind the tv, fucking beautiful. Also got a vinylplayer there in the background and a collection of Vinyls that consists mostly of swedish socialist music. MLG.
Also got PS4, PS3 slim, PS1, N64 and a psp that is outside the screen (i think).

Any tips on managing space in a bedroom that has a queen bed + a desk for a PC set up? 2 PC setups, actually.. my wife and I are struggling to make the space in our room work out. One entire wall consists of sliding closet doors (the current bane of my existence) so nothing can go against or near that wall or accessing things in the closet becomes a pain.. then, on the other side, there's the bedroom door...

....so yeah. 2 walls that have almost no purpose. The room size is about 12x10, I think. It just feels like we don't have the space to accommodate a bed along with a desk. I know a lot of people suggest keeping electronics out of your room, but this is not an option for us as we lack the space to throw it into the living room. Not to mention I just don't think it's a fitting look out there.

Edit - Actually, I'll post some photos of it later and maybe someone can provide suggestions

This is what every gamer's gaming room actually looks like. All those nice rich ass photos are bullshots :) but seriously I still can't get over how nice everyone's setup is.

I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that's The Avengers?

Right before Hulk takes his ass down!

Sweet tv.

Got a new tv table. The PS4 sits inside the open drawer next to that white thing. Cats on the right.

Love that damn OLED.

Saw that OLED in the store last week. You gotta post a pic of it from the side view. That thing is Cardboard thin. How do regular 1080p games look on it?

Love the media console as well. Where'd you get it?

Bet that new telly cos a pretty penny! Stand looks well suited for it.

Cool pup! Lhasa or Shih Tzu?

TV was pretty "cheap". I got it for 2700 at PC Richards and that's a Havanese. Love that dog. Very friendly and doesn't bark unless strangers approach the door!

1080p games look awesome on it. Contrasty games like Infamous and DriveClub are almost blinding at times.

Can't wait to experience GTA V on this setup. Last time I was in Los Santos it was on a 40" low-end 2007 LCD on X360... I kinda wish I kept that old setup, just to experience the stark difference side-by-side. Lastgen GTA on LCD vs nextgen GTA on OLED.

I'll pop a picture from the side later

Stupid question but the knock on 4k is that "there is barely any content available in 4K"

Does OLED suffer from this as well, or are regular resolutions way better looking on OLED too?
