That might be the most heartbreaking ending I've ever seen to a sporting event. I'm just gutted for the English women. No one deserves to go out like that.

Man, I wanted Japan to win, but I feel terrible for her.

This is beyond legit shook. How does something like that happen?

Total devastation at the end.

That has got to feel awful but why the fuck did her teammate play the Japanese player onside. That was terrible.

A rematch of the exact same matchup from 4 years ago? Coincidence or rigged?

How often does something that even happen in WC history.

When you only have 6 good teams, it will happen over and over for a while. Women's world Cup is nowhere near the skill and variety of men's world Cup.

Football, bloody hell.

We didn't even do anything wrong this time. We were the better side and gave a good account of ourselves, no choking here. Just one of those absolute freak things.

I would think that Japan played a better game, but just like always everyone will pretend they didn't because.............well just because.

Maybe they did, but the predictions were that Japan would wipe the floor with them and there was no hope. I didn't see that.

England really didn't deserve to go out like this though, absolutely devastating end to a fantastic run by them

What a way to lose in the last minute. I feel bad for the poor gal. the whole arena didn't even know if it went in or not. It was only when the Japanese started celebrating that people realized it went in the net.

Oh England played their hearts out, its unfortunate how they lost but that football for ya. Japan dominated possession and dictated the pace but England still managed to get out a lot of shots. Neither team came out as one which completely deserved to win, but Japan played a good game.
