Also in the World Baseball Classic the U.S. team has yet to win one.

Argue what you want. I'm saying that if you use the "world champions" title this time around you won't get puzzled or nasty looks from the rest of the world.

I'm pretty sure the term started being used when America was the only country that played those sports. It made sense back then, but now it's played in other countries so it's lost it's meaning.

They actually do. For training purposes. Especially in the case of the USWNT, it gives them a different look to play against players they can't necessarily out-muscle and out-athlete. It forces them to focus on tactics and technique.

My one thing i hate about international soccer leagues, no salary cap. The small market teams are always screwed. You never see a kansas city royals make it to the championship. Its always the richest teams
