Looks like that Blood on the Moshpit documentary is finally coming out, they uploaded a 40+ minute "prologue," whatever that means, in advance of the theatrical release.

for backstory, Have a Nice Day! wanted to throw a cd release party for "Dystopia Romance" last year, so they started a crowdfunding campaign that was super successful. so they threw a show/party for like 1000 people with their regular cohorts (Oyasumi Hologram, Nature Danger Gang, more) and it was filmed by folks from Hamajim (AV production company who have hilariously branched out to documenting underground music as well, they did the BiS Cannonball doc).

video is probably partially NSFW for Nature Danger Gang reasons, but I haven't watched it all yet to confirm

This was very cool. Really want to see the actual documentary now.

Mayu Tomita, a former member of a group called Super Girls, is currently in a coma in critical condition after being stabbed 20 times by some guy at an event. She was stabbed in the arms, back, neck, and chest. Earlier this month she apparently reported to the police that he'd been stalking her. The police already arrested him and he admitted to the stabbing.

shit like this is why I hate the "idols you can meet" concept.

there's absolutely nothing wrong with meet and greets, they happen across all forms of media, all over the world.

if you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the japanese police for being stereotypically reactive and not proactive in their policing. or the event staff for doing a shit job of providing security.

drunken idol movie review: Adventures of Bellring Girl's Heart Across the 6th Dimension

this thing took so long to come out that 4 of the members weren't in the group by the time it released. so long that they had released 2 albums and 1 mini album between. so long that guest stars You'll Melt More had 8 members and Younapi and Ano had the least screentime.

Plot synopsis: Tira is in Taiwan, but they introduce her anyway. This is all we'll see of her. someone replaces a cap gun with a real gun and Mizuho murders a bunch of audience members, including Necronomidol's manager Ricky Wilson. They don't seem to feel particularly bad about it. Mizuho raps. they eat cake and find out that Butch has been kidnapped. Mizuho murders a man and they steal his car. Some trippy shit happens and Moechi murders some monsters and then Mizuho murders Moechi across dimensions, but she lives somehow? They rescue Butch and have a concert to an audience of nobody?

7/10, would let Mizuho shoot me across dimensions

I have both Yurumermo and Izukoneko's movies on their way to me...

Scary shit, what was up with him?, and the fact that she warned police about him and they didn't look into it..

Looking at the flyer for the event, it seems like it was a very low-key type of thing that maybe only a couple dozen people attended and nobody would really expect to need security. It's also maybe a bit misleading that the media is calling her an idol. It seems she was briefly in an idol group that released one single a few years ago but at this point was a regular university student who did solo singer-songwriter stuff on the side. For some unfortunate reason she attracted the attention of a random psycho who apparently felt he was entitled to her just because he sent her gifts. It's a really tragic situation and so frustrating that the police are unwilling or unable to help people who come to them asking for protection from stalkers.

Curiosity got the better of me and I checked out the attacker's twitter. He had been sending her hundreds of creepy messages and also apparently gifts. He got frustrated that she wouldn't acknowledge him and began demanding the gifts back. When she apparently blocked him he began messaging other people who knew her. Chilling stuff. One thing that hit close to home was how he was only following six people and one of them was Seiko Oomori. Apparently one of the gifts he sent was one of her live DVDs.

Ditto for the YMM movie but I thought Izukoneko's was pretty hard to get. I know of a few people who would be interested in that, myself included.

it's on amazon now, though it looks like they only have a few copies. it's region-free too.

second disc is her final live show too, seems like a really good package.

e: oh my god, the "making of" video on the BRGH disc is as long as the movie

I'll just be mad at the pondscum who has stalked and potentially murdered someone.

And I thought that AKB case last year was bad enough.

That said it does make me wonder about her management.

That event did make them take security a lot more serious. They've got officers all over the place now, you have to leave any bags you have at a specific location and everyone is checked with a metal detector before they're allowed to meet the members.

Had a live music festival here in Kagoshima on the volcano yesterday. Great time and good weather. Though of course it is Sakurajima, one of the worlds most active volcanoes so... of course it went off, and of course the wind blew it directly on the event. Only stayed in the air for about 30 minutes but ash was still annoying for a bit. None the less everyone seemed to have a good time. Lots of music both local and national indie bands, even one from America! Multiple stages too so there was always something to listen too, bigger bands or smaller/solo ones. Had no idea our little city had so many good musicians. Not mention the amazing amount of food @.@ Japanese, international, and shaved ice for cheap. 200 yen for a mountain of shaved ice was godlike. Though in the picture it was already half eaten haha.

Heard a very chill band from Kagoshima called "Monoclaft" nice and very normal people. They were super surprised when I bought their cd and asked them to sign it haha. I'll upload their little mini sample cd if anyone wants to hear it.

oh cool, didn't know about that version of the video.
yeah. I've ..experienced most of those Jaws movies. They sure are a thing.
I wonder if the third album,"The Bladerunner" (lol) that was supposed to come out last year, is still in the works.

I hope so, they've recorded a couple of songs for it that haven't seen release yet. they've always been pretty secretive though, so it's hard to tell. apart from Sahiro and Kanako none of them really have much of a public presence.

Nice! it looks beautiful around there

that's a lot more interesting than I was expecting from a remix album.

if you guys are into twitter antics and embarrassment, you can track the Nature Danger Gang auditions on twitter. IIRC, that's how Kenny G got into the group

so far this is pretty good entertainment. especially if you want to hear Mao from Seno Sister's terrible rendition of Amazing Grace

e: hah, this lady seems alright. running around singing Oomori

Kamattechan and Seiko ;_; I'm in love.

didn't recognize the Kamattechan song on first listen. she's so far, by far, the best applicant

hoping the new Yukueshirezu Tsurezure and/or the new Zekkyou Suru 60-do show up on ototoy. the latter probably won't.

update: nope

Was really hoping the Yukueshirezu Tsurezure album would be on iTunes since they released two singles there, but I guess that would make too much sense. So annoying.

I'll allow it - hell I'm always happy to hear castanets in pop, although my mission is mainly tracking j-idol-pop's 'Be My Baby' heritage.
