Is this just a big joke that people don't want dinosaurs to have feathers? Or are you guys actually dismissing science because you don't want it to be true? This reads like a troll thread.
Yeah, it's weird. I know for a fact some of them are trolling, but others, not so much.

WorldStar are you for real

I admit, your posts may be going over my head. Maybe I just don't get the joke.

It's amazing how supposedly smart people (e.g. atheists, scientists) believe anything they see with their eyes. The devil's greatest talent is his ability to deceive. Funny how blind they are to the glory of God but how easily they're led astray by one of Lucifer's obvious tricks.

I will pray for you all.

EDIT: WHAT IS GOING ON? ^
Mineshaft is definitely joking/trolling, lol. Got a few bites it seems.

As for World Star, I have no idea if he's that dumb or not, but he's going to my ignore list regardless.

Those are amazing, thanks for sharing!

That's Jurassic Park's fault, tho.

No it's not. I was using it as a quick reference. It was short hand for "people thought they were terrible thunder lizards but now you're telling me they're giant chickens?" People had a preconceived notion of what dinosaurs looked like before jurassic park.

What's wrong with that? ostriches are rad.

Look at this cool guy:
Gali...galli...gallimumus?

So they were just big birds essentially

Yeah, they just evolved smaller. Big bodies: harder to sustain

People are acting as if all dinosaurs had feathers. They lived in a period of 200 million years. It would be natural for them to adapt and change during this period. The feather from the sample is about 100 million. While the first dinosaurs appeared about 250 m years ago. The last dinosaurs was here about 70 m.

As for the dinosaurs in Jurassic Park, they were formed and merged with frogs. In addition, based on findings from early 90's.

The faster you actually open your mind and think logically, the better you will be. Science is not necessary the truth, but is closest we are at this time. With new data, the truth changes. We should embrace that. I have never understood why some people are so dismissive of new findings. It rarely have any effect on your daily life.

Honestly, I got very excited when I saw this piece of news so I decided to get on GAF to see what people think

This thread depresses me, I really don't understand why people are in such a deep denial. Do dinos having feathers really shatter your reality that badly?

The anti-science tilt of this thread is fucking depressing.
This is why so many people are pushing the false narrative

Just because you believe dinosaurs look better with feathers doesn't mean they actually had feathers
Just because you believe dinosaurs look better without doesn't mean they were featherless.

Geez, I hope all these ridiculous anti-reality (ie. feathers) posts are jokes.

Awesome find. I hope someone makes a VR "Jurassic Park (with feathers)" tour or game.

I really like this shirt and some of the others made by the discovery institute, too bad its such a terrible message. Just something funny about the devil burying dino bones.

edit: Like this one. I don't believe it, I just like the look of it. I'd buy one if I didnt think I was helping their cause.

Dude, those shirts aren't made by the Discovery Institute and are clearly meant to be ironic.

It's from Dexter when a police sergeant named Doakes sneaks up on him. He thinks Dexter is withholding info in a murder case (he is of course very correct). He says, "Surprise mothafucka" in Dexter.

Ohhhh, I've definitely seen that GIF with Doakes' head on it still because there's no way I guessed that.

I checked the threads WorldStar has made to try to get a better sense of whether he was trolling or serious, and he has multiple threads about UFOs, Bigfoot, and Mermaids. So he apparently believes that kind of stuff, but doesn't believe in feathered dinosaurs?

Well it seems he's living up to that tag.

Ah well that's why God created the ignore list.

Ugh, I hate these so much. Yeah, it's easy to look back at some past science and mock it. In my opinion, it only makes you look like a douche.

Paleontologists were working with the information they had, doing their best with it. These animals were thought to be reptiles (thunder lizards). What does it look like if you take a modern reptile skeleton and "shrink wrap" it? Oh, that's right: it looks like the animal does.

They didn't "shrink wrap" mammals discovered during the same timeframe.

Might as well call Isaac Newton a moron because he didn't invent General Relativity.

What's the point of being a troll? Who are you mocking? People actually believe the things trolls pretend to believe and so the ignorant simply have their ignorance reinforced and facts get buried in shit. This really isn't cute any more, not in this day and age where knowledge is losing the fight on all fronts and people are getting hurt as a result. Dinosaurs may not be life and death but in every corner we sow distrust of science and feed conspiracy is another chip off the foundation of our society. How many of you have friends and family that believe something absurd? Why encourage that?

I don't understand what's with some of you! The realization that dinosaurs are basically just giant birds was probably one of my favorite things to find out. It makes dinosaurs so much more interesting.

This thread makes me realize I really want to see more modern animals drawn based only on their skeletons. It looks so cool, I wish that featherless swan actually existed.

Feathered dinosaurs are cool in my opnion. Even T-rex can be done right:

That said, people should remember it is probably only theropods who had feathers, guys like Triceratops were probably scaly.
