No it wasn't? Nothing about this is related to Sony nor did it happened in his work place dude...Two reasons.
1. It's a high level guy doing pervy shit at a game company
Good points.Yeah, you're right there. But, without going down a huge rabbit hole on a side discussion of human behavior and crime statistics, I have two simple points.
1. CA is WAY down the list on sex offenders. 30 states higher than CA.
2. Despite varying rates of prosecution, I think there are sick people everywhere, to the point where, yes, it's basically "evenly distributed." There is NO REASON for Oregon to be so much worse than CA (Oregon is the worst state) in numbers when we share borders. There is no reason for that invisible geographic border to make a difference in terms of "what lies in the hearts of men." So yeah, I think there is darkness and evil everywhere hidden in people. And no, I don't think it has to do with regions. The whole "CA is full of sick weirdos" beyond other states narrative is just silly and has no basis in reality or numbers.
Anyway, going to get outside while it's still light out for now. Really disappointing and disgusting series of events. I hope Sony fires the guy before the weekend is out. I'm sure most of us agree on that at least.
Μαλακά if in Greece a 50+ old man goes to fuck a 14 years old kid he won't be able to get out of his house ever again, they will kill him. We are not degenerates, it's sexual abuse if you have more than 3 years difference with the person you have sexual interaction. You probably are one of the people that want to normalise pedophilia. Anyone having or trying to have sex with someone bellow 18 years IS. A pedophile.Yeah, I agree it's immoral and where he lives it's also illegal. But there's a good reason why many civilized countries like Germany, Austria or Greece consider 14 and up as being legal.
I actually haven't thought about any of this...Also I've seen very little discussion here of how he was in a perfect position to abuse his access to information, profiles, credit and perks on PSN to lure and incentivize children to do what he wanted....
Positions like this should need a lot more clearance and character analysis than this guy got.
He will get fired right now. He did BR damage to their brand. Good thing for them, its Saturday, and not alot of people are active this time. If this was weekdays, media would have talked alot about it.Yeah, you're right there. Didnt mean he did it at work. Simply he works at one.No it wasn't? Nothing about this is related to Sony nor did it happened in his work place dude...

2. People also bring up Sony having pervs when Jim Ryan white knighted their company while bashing Activision. So if this whole thing is true (looks legit IMO unless these guys are some reason faking it all for internet laughs), then it looks stupid how they got pervs on staff too
People with access to highly sensitive data, or have direct responsibility for financials at most (from what I've seen) require the employee to sign official documents stating they adhere to being responsible, timely and being accountable for the data you are privileged to have access to due to your role at the company. In simple words, don't be an asshole and screw around with the data. However, I have no idea how serious companies use these documents or if it's just one of those auditing requirements they just want to check a box and never think of it again. Also I've seen very little discussion here of how he was in a perfect position to abuse his access to information, profiles, credit and perks on PSN to lure and incentivize children to do what he wanted....

All it takes is to have incentive for it. Most people in these position, try to their job. But there others who want to benefit themself. And they will go all length to achieve it.People with access to highly sensitive data, or have direct responsibility for financials at most (from what I've seen) require the employee to sign official documents stating they adhere to being responsible, timely and being accountable for the data you are privileged to have access to due to your role at the company. I read this twice and still don't get it. Now I have 911 on the line because I got a stroke of trying to find out what the hell you mean. When Sony says they’re reluctant to have crossplay with Xbox because they want to protect the children. I didn’t know they extend that to meaning providing shelter for the Playstation kids to protect them from the Xbox boys in the street
will sony SACK him from his position?Poor Sackboy.
Guy in costume: Hey George. Thanks for having me attend this gaming conference. What ever I can do to help, just tell me.the VP

The first girl I had sex with was 15, am I a sick pedo?Anyone having or trying to have sex with someone bellow 18 years IS. A pedophile.
Shitty people are everywhere and law exists to take care about them.
Fuck him. I hope he will rot in prison
BUT what does it have to do with where he works? i mean bad people are everywhere
There's a big difference between a bunch of junior analyst nobodies getting fired for bad performance or getting into a fist fight with a coworker vs. a VP being accused of going after kids. How does it look stupid? This situation and what Activision did aren't remotely comparable. Any company of size is going to unknowingly employee a subset of people with varying transgressions. Judge a company with how they handle those transgressors who are brought to light.
As far as it looking legit, if I had to guess I'd probably assume the worst but that channel has 93 "busts" since August 6th and scrubbing the videos doesn't paint him in the best of light ("we can talk or I can call the police" is a huge red flag). I guess it's a question of if the means justify the ends. I'd love to know statistics on his 93 busts that led to any sort of prosecution, but we are years away from having that type of data.
Precisely. Context is key. A 14 yo playing with another 14 yo when both like each other and do it willingly is entirely different to 14 yo being lured by 60 yo freak.Μαλακά if in Greece a 50+ old man goes to fuck a 14 years old kid he won't be able to get out of his house ever again, they will kill him. If you were over 18.. Then yes.The first girl I had sex with was 15, am I a sick pedo?
(Granted, I was 16 when it happened)
How would Jim or anyone at PS would have known?Jim Ryan commenting on Activision Positions of power attract a lot of abusers, this is known. That’s why you should keep your nose out and focus on your own house.
don't you think there is a difference between a 16 year old sleeping with a 15 year old and a 60 year old having sex with a 15 year old?The first girl I had sex with was 15, am I a sick pedo?
(Granted, I was 16 when it happened)
Why you quoted half of my post? I clearly say anyone having sex under 18 in order to not be considered sexual abuser must have maximum 3 years difference. That mean if you are 16 the lowest you can go and be lawfull is 13. If you are 14 then 17..etc.The first girl I had sex with was 15, am I a sick pedo?
(Granted, I was 16 when it happened)

Also, the timing of Jim memoing about Activision and this issue is terrible timing. He basically works hand and hand with Jim as a high level exec.
Because high ranking people who get grilled always have more details about them such as job and company. If a street mugger gets caught, chances are the media and people dont care if he works PT at Burger King. They wont even bring it up.Fuck him. I hope he will rot in prison

Im not saying Jim Ryan knew.If it is true, It is stupid to assume that Jim Ryan knew the skeletons in this executives closet. I'm sure you've worked hand in hand with a ton of people in your lifetime and no very little about them personally, much less their deepest and darkest secrets. How about we judge Sony and Jim Ryan with how this situation plays out?
News Flash: there is never a good time for an executive to get accused of child abuse.
the VP
Agreed.I kind of agree with that, but personally I've worked with people that had pretty bad behaviours (even criminal) that we didn't have any idea. That's not just the kind of thing that people slip on work conversations, even if you're close to that person. I agree that the timing is terrible, but unless there was some kind of previous actions, there's no way Jim or anyone around him could know it.
Im not saying Jim Ryan knew.
I'm just saying the whole timing of Acticision issues --> Jim memoing about Activision --> this Sony VP getting accused of pedo is stupid timing that looks bad on Jim. This VP guy is at a high level too so he and Jim Ryan are basically peer level employees.
If you were over 18.. Then yes.
don't you think there is a difference between a 16 year old sleeping with a 15 year old and a 60 year old having sex with a 15 year old?
I was making a joke. It's not my fault your last sentence is factually wrong. Why you quoted half of my post? I clearly say anyone having sex under 18 in order to not be considered sexual abuser must have maximum 3 years difference. That mean if you are 16 the lowest you can go and be lawfull is 13. This isnt just some tiny employee. This a high ranking employee. Activision can use this card against Sony, If Sony tries to say anything to them. This would have the same impact, If Aaron Greenberg did it.
okay, where is the pun/the punchline?I was making a joke.
Now talking from a company standpoint, I think being silent on the whole Activision/Kotick would hurt more than saying that and something like this happening a week after. They just need to be as solid as before, make a clear statement, fire the guy and promote someone reliable.Agreed.
That's why trying to PR about Activision sexual abuse was never a good thing by Sony and MS. These two companies better make sure their houses are in order. If not, better to not say anything. Since these companies have so many high level people of hidden agendas, it's better not to say anything regardless. Or else it opens a can of worms if dumb things happen.
