ND went from goat to shit under Druckmans lead. Nothing you say can convince me otherwise, the proof is in the output.

Remakes of remakes DO NOT COUNT!

I think you misunderstood me, I am not against remakes and remasters, I'm ALL for them, I love they remastered the FF with the Pixel collection, I love to have Metroid Prime on Switch and Mario RPG upcoming, same for Thousand Doors which costs like 200€ on NGC, I love to replay FFX/XII on PS4/Xbox, I love all of that, really, and trust me many people looked down on me for "supporting this economy".
What I don't like with what is doing Sony recently is that most of their 1st party releases are remasters/remakes of RECENT games. Let's take the exemple of Spider-Man or TLOU2. The console is back compatible, why the update of SM isn't free ? Same will go for TLOU2, the game is pretty recent, there is nothing much to "remaster", except yes maybe the loading times and a 120fps mode ? Even TLOU1 which is remade with the TLOU2 engin, why it is a 80€ game ? Why not at least having an option to update the PS4 version for like 20€, that is what I dislike.

They just exaggerate, their remakes and remasters are not even really remastered and for sure not remakes, they are just charged updates.

So let's take a look at what you've actually said, specifically Spider-Man and TLOU2.

All of these games are playable for people who bought it on PS4 to play on PS5.

Sony has to pay real people at real jobs to remaster it for PS5. I think everyone agrees that with the exception of the face change the remaster is significantly better than the PS4 original. Even more time has passed for TLOUP2.

More importantly, it's to introduce these VERY popular and successful PS4 games to PC audiences. If they were remastered for PC only would it make more sense to you, but then PS5 owners would cry foul as to why they didn't get the definitive versions of these games and they're stuck with the "free" old games.

No one has to buy TLOUP2 on PS5 if they already own the PS4 version. Hell, they can still buy the PS4 version as Sony doesn't really remove the old versions. You could still download the PS3 version of TLOUP1 and PS4 version of TLOU Remastered. If Sony was like T2 they would have taken those down.

Reminds me on Rare in the N64 Era

It's really cool that it's coming to PS5, but honestly, whenever I realize that Sony will most probably try to either cash grab this as 10 dollars upgrade for existing owners or forcing us to pay 70 dollars again, my excitement almost immediately decrease. These paid upgrades is something I really dislike about this generation so far

Remastering a game doesn't take away too many resources. 10-20 people can probably do it. It's less effort than adding DLC. And it makes a bit of sense to update the game as much as possible before S2 airs

What will the remaster bring? it's already 1440P 60fps
Controller gimmicks and audio 3d most probably. Sony was smart to hype useless shit at the start of the gen so (some) people are happy to pay for this stuff instead of a proper graphical upgrade.

Why not though? this will be released on PC also, so whatever enhancements you bring to PC you may as well bring to PS5 and release it again/update it. But likely 4K, better framerates, better textures etc. along with PS5 specific features like faster loading, haptics etc.

I’m done with this remastering a game that came out 3 years ago.

Bankruptcy is a real thing, the video game industry, the movie industry, the music industry, the fashion industry (we’re still wearing the same shit since the 90s’)

I’ve already apologized to my children about having to live on a plateau for the past 20 years…

If you don't like it no one is forcing you to buy this.

Just looking for the future my man .. and it does not look good right now for me ... just hopes and dreams... and wolverine sometime in the far future , still going to play SM2 but HZFW and Ragnorok were shit sequels (imo).

Not a fan GOWR, but like SM2 and HFW it was a solid sequel.

For 2024 Sony have FF7 Rebirth lined up, and very likely Death Stranding 2 and Wolverine. None of which are GAAS.

This is your answer to redundancy. You got something on your nose.

Some of you guys have your head so far up Sony’s ass that you can’t even see what is happening around you and on top of that they can’t even give you the proper decency for a reach around.

It’s okay to criticize, it’s how change happens.
But if you wanna keep getting spoon fed the same shit year after year, by all means keep eating.

You mean creative bankruptcy?

I've been saying for a while, I'm not a big fan of ND in recent years and I find little appeal in the TLOU games.

The rumor is they're working on a medieval fantasy game - I think this is a very smart move on their part as they've been focusing heavily on 3rd person cinematic experiences - which can lead to a lot of creative stagnation.

You failed to answered my question.

This is not about Sony, I'll ASK AGAIN: What is the problem of more options if you aren't forced to buy it?

You can complain, but nothing will change. Pointless remasters exist for years and will keep existing for many more years. You don't have any voice. lol

The only voice that people truly have is the voice of their wallets, but if companys have keep doing this over and over it's for a simple question: people keep buying. It's a problem? I don't know, I don't care, there's many others games to play.

People whined the same way when TLOU P1 Remake was announced. And then it lit the sales charts on fire lol.

First, you didn’t ask question you made a remark.
The question your asking in this post?? What choice, it’s the same game with the same gameplay just maybe an unlocked framerate, some spruced up graphics, oh can’t forget the haptics for the controller. We all know the story line 3 years out.
Why 3 years later? Why wasn’t this available within the launch window of the PS5? All these questions and no answers

Yeah, this is something I’ve been dreaming up ideas about since hearing about a medieval type game, question is will it be filled with magic and fantastical beasts to slay and have a dynamic story with years worth of lore to read about.

Or will it be based on some alternate reality based on real life mechanics and a straight storyline moving from point A to point B…. God imagine if it was about an isolated instance of a fungus out break just set in the 11th century.

For the love of god I hope it’s the former and not the later.

What are you on about?

Upgrading a game to take advantage of a new console's features is fine. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Easy solution.

Not sure where you got your information, but Sony hardware is selling faster than ever.

COVID still exists and is still running rampant.

And what does inflation have to do with gaming? Game prices haven't risen over the past few years and you can get consoles for cheaper than ever. On Amazon.de right now, I can pick up a PS5 with Spider-Man 2 for 499 Euro.

Remastering a three year old game already? Just make part 3, or a new game, but this is not needed.
It's not a remake but a remaster just like TLOU1 got, that released literally 1 year after the original games release. Didn't stop them making UC4 and TLOU2.
They're probably trying to drive some additional revenue as always.
